There's real love here, and the fact that the dog has learned to taste instead of just taking food is amazing. Never saw a dog do that.

Looking at my own four-legged vacuum cleaner right now, that‘s probably the hardest trick to teach to a retriever.
A dog that brings you beer is bf in my book!
The only thing my dog will “taste” is the footrest or arm of my recliner. She’ll just lay there and lick them 🤷🏼♀️. But if there’s food involved, look out. She’s the fastest geriatric, or any other, chihuahua I’ve ever seen in my life!

It's so funny to watch the restraint in that dog when she's tasting food. You can tell she really just wants to gobble it down.

Goldens, famous for getting a little heavy at times because they're so motivated by food (I've had my experiences😉) makes her tasting discipline really impressive. They're so intelligent and willing to please, I guess I shouldn't be shocked. They're the best breed ever. Love seeing personal stories.

after seeing a video of Ellie learning how to taste food, I taught my own new pup to do that as well, he learned in only three tries and it has enabled him to be patient with food. Him, being a hyper, 80 pound dog is a wonderful talent for him to have learned... I run a cleaning business and part of my job is to focus on my client's dogs, give them play time and cuddles before I start work.. I have also taught a few of my client's dog's that talent as well and it helps them to focus better and jump less while greeting me... :) Thanks Ellie.

I used to have a golden retriever and the dog was so smart. I swear she had a larger vocabulary than some people I know. So much fun wanted to go everywhere with me.
Ellie is amazing. Loved the matching sweaters. I've never trained a dog to just taste. We are getting a new puppy in the next few weeks and that will be on the agenda. I love Ellie's gentleness. ❤

What a sweet girl, all breeds of retrievers are awesome dogs, golden, chocolate ,black, yellow, Chesapeake Bay retrievers, they are all such wonderful family dogs, great with kids, and they are definitely great therapy dogs, we had a black lab from when she was 8wks old till she crossed the rainbow bridge at 14 years old, I miss her so very much 💔😥🐾🐾💜

What a wonderful video, just by watching this video it brings happiness. I envy this man because all day long my dog and I just sit in our house and my family never take our dog for vacation. This man is living his life in the best way possible with his dog and family. He is role model for how to make a dog happy and how to train a dog with love, discipline and care.
