Great video. I have the same system. This helped me understand how the parts go together. One of my heads broke and came out. I used an oil filter wrench to remove and replace the broken head.
Thanks, good info. I have a water leak into my spa form and wondered what the complete assembly was like and if I had a cracked pipe or leaking seal. I will remove and inspect with a borascope
Dont forget it is best to line up the air supply hole with the air supply. So make a mark and turn it till that is top center. It makes a huge difference in air supply.
Very helpful. Thank you John. I'm losing water from the hottub slowly over night. I have had the gummite replastered so I feel sure it's not the tub itself. I see signs of moisture on the outside of the tub and am thinking it may be in one of two of the jets on that side of the tub. Any suggestions on how to locate this leak. Also I have a blower that I assume mixes air with jet stream that IS NOT working due to bad fan motor. Just in case that may come into the equation. Thanks in advance
Yes my hot tub is raised and can be allowed to over flow into my pool. Can you tell me where or how the check valve is or have I overstayed my welcome. I do appreciate your helping us pool people. Thank you~~!~~
@@dougjohn45 The check valve should be on the spa filtration return. Probably a 2-inch pipe with something like a valve but normally would have a clear cover where you can see a flap that only lets the water go One Direction. Hard to explain you could look it up on Google and see what the different 2 inch check valve look like. Most likely it will be a Jandy check valve. Or the equivalent.
@@JohnThePoolExpertGuy I see how would one retrieve the threaded piece that must still be inside because the whole assembly comes out just short pvc stub at the end but there’s definitely glue on it. Im having an issue with a set of spa Jets that I installed and wondering what would be the best way to go at it ...I have a similar set of spa Jets the only thing I didn’t do was connect the inch line with the o-ring ...i glued in the wall fitting and the plaster is done on it so how would I be able to get the fitting itself out without damaging the pool ? Hi John, Great video. I have a customer that had a jet break off leaving the faceplate open. They still ran the spa daily. Now there are no bubbles. I think the air system has water in it. I replaced the jet. Still no bubbles. Ive tried using a blower on the air intake while running the system. Still no bubbles. Any ideas on how to resolve this? Thanks
Hi John, I have an older in ground spa and it has simple jets that don't have any nozzles. It is just pipes that end at the wall and the air comes out causing the water to splash all over the deck. I would like to know if I can retrofit any nozzles into my spa? Maybe there was originally, but there aren't any now. Please advise, thanks.
Hi John, Thank you for your video. Our jets when running looks like a guyser going off. We also have to sit close to the jets to get any effect. Please advise. Thanks.
I have similar jets in my pool. What is the best way to plug these jets so water doesn’t go back in during winter? Bringing my water below the lowest jet is not an option for me. I tried regular plugs but they weren’t great. Do you know if they make threaded plugs?
It is not under high pressure and it doesn't matter if your connection leaks a little bit. Primer might drip and get on the threads and you don't want that. Feelfree however to use primer if you would like.
How does the assembly look in the wall? Do you have pipes connect the back half? Besides what you show in this video, how does the 'piece that goes in the wall' and the 'piece that goes against the plaster' fit together?
The fitting we screw the threaded end into in the beginning is a gunite nich for the threaded end to screw into the wall meant to be there before gunite and plaster
Hi there just wondering if the air holes just suck air freely in the jets with the water or theres an air pump that creates the air to mix with the water thanks

The easiest way to find out is to put pressure on the plumbing

Thanks so much for your tutorial. 👌👌👌
Do you have the part numbers by any chance? our pool builder ghosted us and never finished installing the jets.
What’s the part number? This is an amazing product

Hi. Does it matter what type of pipe I use? Regular schedule 40 pvc? I’m in the northeast and we have a hard freeze every winter. Thanks
Typically we use schedule 40 pvc. I believe that you would winterize the pool to prevent damage to the pipes.
@@JohnThePoolExpertGuy thanks very much for responding. Appreciate it.
Good
Can I ask you what type of pvc that is?
hi john where i can buy this kind of jets
Isn't there a special glue for pool and spa applications?
Yes Weld-On makes pool and spa rated Glues and Primers. You can check out their website

Nine out of ten times if your spa is raised its probably the check valve

So are you saying there is no one inch pipe between the wall fitting and the jet niche?
WHere are the Jets getting the AIR? Is there a pipe that leads all the way back to the valves ( pool/spa) ?
On mine there is a blow by my spa equipment with a operate pipe
If I want to replace a jet, do I have to remove the water first?
No just unscrew it

The vent ( air intake) for the venturi Fitting without the air blower , ( just the simple install) , how long I can run the 3/4" pipe?
I usually convert the 3/4 to 1. 1/2" right away So you get decent air flow

you should always use primer

I hear you say in the video it's a solid pipe, but it doesn't look like that in the video. What if your wall is thicker or thinner?
At 5 minutes 45 seconds you can see how the fitting looks in the wall
Also at 2 minutes and 20 seconds into the video I show how to measure for the wall thickness
The fitting we screw the threaded end into in the beginning is a gunite nich for the threaded end to screw into the wall meant to be there before gunite and plaster
