Hello, as I understand these shoes run quite hot so not ideal for dry summer hikes. Can you reccommend a few models that are ok for summer and protect the ancle as well?

Hello, for summer hikes the best shoes/boots are thoose, that does not have any membrane (Gore Tex etc.) Unfortunately many of the outdoor brands using some kind of membrane in their shoes/ boots. I usually choose a trail running shoe for summer hikes. Salomon Pulsar Trail, Hoka Speedgoat, Scarpa Ribelle Run, anything that fits your feet and does not have a membrane is good. Unfortunately many boots comes with membrane, but right now for longer hikes with ankle support I use Adidas Terrex Freehiker, great boot, light, comfy and good traction.
