The side protectors had me fooled at first too. They are plastic though, I have since put a set of crash bars on mine. Congrats on your new bike. :)

The more you ride it the more you will find you want to ride it. I love this bike.
I have nearly 92000KM on my 2014. Rugged and great motor! Enjoy!

Beautiful bike, how is the weight and does it vibrate a lot ?
I am a big guy. So weight is ok. As for vibrations there are some. But nothing major or unpleasant. Love it.
He never showed HOW to flip through the settings menu.
Why it was rattling so much??
It wasn't rattling, that was simply a 1200cc twin at tick over. It is a very strong and quite motor.
