This was the most informative and relatable video I have seen yet! Thank you for sharing your experience, and I completely agree with a lot of what you said. I have been tapering for a while, and just two days ago completely stopped. Moving forward with a positive attitude.
I'm meeting with my doctor next Monday to get off Mirtazapine! I can't really remember sleeping without it so I've been pretty hesitant to stop taking it for the past few years. However, enough is enough. I'm going to college now and I don't want to feel like the only way I can sleep is with medication. This video was so encouraging for me, as I was afraid to stop taking the meds. Thank you so much for the video and wish me luck!
Mirtazapine at 15mg works for me. Its a triple win, eases my fluctuating lack of desire to eat, helps control my depression and does well at getting me to sleep. On the odd occasion when my brain is running hot from over analyzing i can take a while to drop of. Long term i see a day when i might consider stopping the meds and i wish you well in you plan to stop. There is only one thing that really cools down my aspergers processor and gives my brain a little peace allowing it to think in a more focused and productive way and that's cannabis, so thats a once a month "treat" . Your videos have been great in helping me understand my aspergers and realise there are a lot of us out there.
The main withdrawal was really just starting to refeel so the old symptoms I'd forgotten I had after 15 years of being on it. Two years on and I still clench my jaw all night and don't sleep well. Sometimes I take a sixth of a15mg tablet and it really helps to sleep.
Wow, this was really helpful for me. I have been on 30 mg for 6 years. I gained 80 pounds after being on it. Thankfully I managed to lose 38 pounds while still on it but it was so difficult. I think today is day 7 or so without any mirtazapine at all and every night has been terrible. Tossing and turning, itchy skin, jittery, bad anxiety and depression. I really didn’t prepare myself for all the negatives to quitting. My depression has been pretty bad because I got off lexapro and mirtazapine around the same time and I fear that I’m going to lose my job because my attitude has gotten so crappy. I’m getting ready for work now on maybe 3-4 hours of sleep and I feel somewhat panicky because I don’t know how I’m going to function. A part of me wants to fight through it and another part of me is afraid that my life is going to fall apart if I’m not on anything.
Hi, I watched your videos years ago and they were very interesting and helpful to me. I hope you are fine and maybe you'll do another update someday. Best wishes! ;)
Thank you for the info. I had a breakdown 5 days ago and it was very intense. I checked in for 5 days and I was prescribed 7.5 mg. Couldn't imagine being on any higher dosage. I also have sleep paralysis so this med saved my life. I feel alot calmer and more patient with people. It's very nice to get full night of sleep without waking up 4-6 times every night. I was fighting with everyone and lost most of my good friends. Regret is a terrible thing to live with. I have to fix what I lost. Very very sad.
2 days without now, didn't sleep at all the first night stayed up all night but slept fine last night. To be honest, I came off Venlafaxine a few months ago and that was actually pure hell for about 3 weeks. No joke it was the most terrible shit constantly. This is genuinely a walk in the park compared to that so far. Hopefully it stays that way.
Thank you for this video I’ve been procrastinating to get on and off of them for quite some time I was always worried about losing sleep but I like the way you put it no one‘s gonna get perfect sleep
Good for you for going off the mirtazapine. I’m still on it and went off clonazepam almost year ago. It was pure hell going off that. I think I’ll be more sensitive to going off mirtazapine than you were.
It’s been three days and this medicine is already working I’m definitely not cured of anxiety but I for sure feel like a weight has been lifted , you not high or anything like that you just feel a sense like everything is going to be okay
If your depressed anxious and cant sleep remeron is a lifesaver. It also stopped my panic attacks in less than a week. Some people have a helluva time coming off it and some don t. Gotta tamper down slowly.
It makes me tired during the day I’m on 15 mg and I have 30 mg Been on them for a year I gained so much weight I want to get off them I’m more depressed because of my weight was 98lbs not I’m over 140 and I’ve never been over 115
Quite enjoy the weird dreams, but can never remember them! Fair Play for virtually getting off it. Will use this vid' as an aid when quit because in the past various Doctors have had no empathy or advice at all.
Cool. Thanks for theses videos. Helping alot of people. Have you tried the method of sleeping at the exact time every night and waking at the same time no matter what. Its supposed to reset your sleep cycle and I saw a video about it. Even if you only get 3 hours you still wake up. First few days are Hellish and supposed to get gradually better.
I was on remoran 4 many yrs. Im off now 4 1 month , I had no withdrawals. While on it I gained 40 lbs. ,still could not sleep. awful med. made me more depressed.
I have gone cold turkey! My 3rd week, I dont no if its withdrawl or theres other things wrong with me! Tingling in body, body shivers, back aches/pains, arm aches/pains, cant eat propper, stomach turns, anxiety, muscle tightness, swelling, siatica type muscle pain and all in 3 weeks! Wana give up and go back on, but knocks me out all the time, I was on 45, & I am reading stories about side affects that are bad on 30 or less
Tracey Lloyd I was on mirtazipine for 18 years, 30 mg. I quit a month ago with a fast 2 week taper. I still have withdrawal symptoms. They are like yours. I am also having terrible chest pain, feels like a tight band crushing my chest, have burning pain under left ribs, heartburn in mid chest, irritability, anger, liver pain, sneezing, back pain, but I do have arthritis. I went to ER and heart and lungs looked ok. I have MRI next week, Aug 21, of back. I am taking supplements of potassium, magnesium citrate, turmeric, krill oil and Ashwagandha. Twice a day I take organic apple cider vinegar, 2 Tbsp. with baking soda 1/2 tsp. and water. I also take twice a day lemon water, 2 oz. lemon juice and 6 oz. water. I hope I survive this as I'm 58 yo. Horrible, horrible withdrawal symptoms. Mirtazipine is POISON! Best of luck to you 💚
Mike. You sound great and inspirational BUT like I previously read a reply to you is WAIT till you go to NOTHING and not for 1 night for at least 10 days of nothing but MIKEY to rock you to sleep and THEN post your inspirational message sounding like your talking from experience. Right now the experience you have is no longer than a 15 year old boy. I knew a guy addicted to Methadone many years. BIG SHOT went down to 15 Mgs and making kind of fun of the ones still struggling to get lower than 30 etc. Anyway when this guy tried to go to 0 he found out what the taste of his OWN SOCKS WAS and almost ended his life. So WAIT till you are in the big 0 for a month or so and then instead of twirling that pencil in your video, see if your not twirling your lower lip! The fact that you take expresso at 2:00 am shows that Mike can’t handle being just Mike. You seem to need something, anything to change what nature has given you. So hold off on the judging how easy or hard. OK buddy? Thanks.
@@multisync4965 I'm doing great. Thanks for asking. Vit D3 and K2 as well as ashwagandha help alleviate depression if I ever feel depressed. I don't tho. I will never take pHARMaceuticals again. Also on keto low carb cruciferous veggie diet and I fast everyday 20 hours a day. No more headaches YAY! Fact is sugar and high carbs are slow acting poisons.
I like your videos. I've been watching all sorts of your videos. Is it me or my meds and the trazodone vs remeron one was really interesting. I'm sorry you're going through this withdrawal. I honestly hate medication it causes way more harm than good and it's really scary. I'm glad you are able to come off this drug because that gives me hope. I hope to be off all medication in the future.
I must have been on a low dose, I quit taking them. 30 mg or 15mg was told the lower the dose it would help wth sleep! I could not tell I had taken if. I stopped due to weight gan!
If you were taking Mirtazapine for ten years, did you have to keep increasing the dose to get the same effect? Why were you taking such a big dose, when Mirtazapine just for sleep is often given at very small doses? Was that because you were getting tolerance to it, and the dose had to be increased over the years to get the same effect?
Very good advice brother, same thinking I have. Its like I was speaking to myself about how to think getting off this stuff. I have been on Mirtazapine for 4yrs - last 3 months I have gone from 30mg to (15mg last 30days) & now starting (7.5mg for 10-15 days) then Im going OFF it as the time is now for me. My Anxiety has not got any better on this stuff over time in all honesty, actually I remember being off all medication many many years ago & my anxiety was much much less. I also struggle with Insomia hence my doctor prescribed me this stuff as I was on Prestiq for 3 yrs prior to this. The weight gain is the worst man, on mirtazapine Ive gone from a healthy 90kg to 115kg, I eat very well during the day but once I take this shit my cravings are out of control at nite, no wonder they prescribe this for ppl with anorexia. Anyway you know what, I've saved your clip and will rewatch when need as its very encouraging/wise and realisitc, you are spot as if you watch the testimonies of ppl coming off this stuff and 80% chance you will be back on it, your approach is solid and very good in your thinking pattern. Can I ask if your still on this channel? r u off mirtazapine now & hows it all going? Hope this message finds you bro. I live in Aus. Cheers man & thanks. God bless man. Benjamin
@Taseu Ryugi Not to much, maybe at the start - was along time ago, due to my bad sleep insomia and anxiety it did help. I was on 30mg for 1yr 15mg for 3yrs and now on 7.5mg, I tried to stop but no sleep in 20days took its toll, plus I went off it to quickly, so now on 7.5mg, so I ve come along way, most likely in a few months will give it another go as it will be properly tapering. So yes It can give you drowsiness during the day, but that shld fade, also depending on the mg your taking. If it keeps going speak to your GP cause you dont want to become a zombie during the days, I wish I never started them but no use looking back so we must look fwd now, my goal is to come off but in time and not rush and taper down in months not weeks. God bless you Taseu.
@Taseu Ryugi Taseu, firstly please dont apologise for asking questions. I cant really respond on if you should continue taking this medication or not, I am not a doctor. From my own experince however the doctor prescribed this due to my insomia/anxiety 4yrs ago 15-30mg, has it helped - well not really in all honesty - however when it comes to sleep my current 7.5mg dose works very well, offcourse we all have anxiety at times, its human nature, but it can be much stronger when one doesnt have sleep, every person is the same in regards to this. I just think doctors prescribe these medications very quickly, if your having a bad week etc some doctors will say oh you need this that etc and its quite a challenge when one is on these medications to come off them, so maybe go to a few doctors and get somemore advise on if you should continue or not. I was on prestiq for 3 yrs and the another doctor said I was prescribed the wrong medicaiton and put me on mirtazapine due to my insomia, I still have this doctor because he is good and I can tell his compassionate for his patients and now we are sticking to 7.5mg which im happy as its a very low dose and will help me come off them in time. Plus being on this medication I have put on 30kg over the 4yrs, not a good side affect (and probably my only side affect but geez being overweight isnt really good for ones health/mind as well) and this medicaiton is known for weight gain. What ive changed now is I have it when I go to bed 9pm, not 1hr before bed like I used to, so by the time my strong cravings come on im in bed nearly asleep tp tired to walk tot he pantry and fridge and smash it lol, so far ive shed 6kg by doing this and offcourse the lower dose helps. Insomia is my number one issue and 7.5mg helps but my goal is to be completely free in time. I tried but after day 20 with no sleep it was getting dangerous so I went on the lower 7.5mg and take it later, so it wasnt a waste of time because I learnt a couple of important things, plus I tapering off slolwy and longer duration is important, I thought after 2 weeks ive got this - worng I was. But will be better prepared for the future attempt :) As for if you should continue, I cant answer this, depends on how long you have been on it for, how many mg etc etc there are a few matters but I would maybe go to a couple of medical practioners to get there advise, maybe some who are known for not prescribing antidepressants like lolly pops! And most importantly above ALL As a follower of Christ my freind I will finish by saying seek him first before anything else Taseu. God loves you dearly my freind. Always here for a chat buddy. Hang in there ok God bless
I got prescribed mirtazapine 15mg for panic disorder and to help with my Ativan withdrawals and soon to start taper. I just tried 7.5mg and it was super sedative and took me a whole day to literally wake up. I’m very sensitive to meds, so I’m wondering if I should go down 3.75mg till my body gets used to it so I can build up to 15mg. Any suggestions, or extra info? Thanks in advance! 👍
been taking since 2006, ive tried not taking it several times but i cant fall sleep at all. i stay awake non stop for days until i take it back. Its an addiction, i rarely even get any dreams since ive been taking it. Thanks for tips to not take it.
I went from 15mg to about 0.9 mg of mirtazapine over the course of 5-6 months (I've been talking it for about a year before that). I still had insomnia from day 4-5 of stopping it completely. For me, the cons of this medicine outweigh the pros. I stopped it sooo slowly and still got rebound insomnia
took remeron for 3 years 45mgs just quit cold turkey three weeks ago. week one was fine week two i was nauseous every morning. i had no appetite. ive lost 46 pounds in almost a month. week three is the same as week two, still feeling nauseous and can't eat. I have to force water down. remeron made me gain 75 pounds because it made me have an appetite. it helped me alot but because of how much weight i gained i was having heart problems so i made the choice to just stop
Quit 8 days ago because I gained about 18kg in less then 2 months.. Did NOT help with my mental health Lol. Had close to no withdrawal for the first 5 days. Felt sick this weekend and now im really dizzy. But its still NOTHING compared to the hell with quitting sertralin
Hi , I went through hell on sertraline. O tapered off I thought slowly but wasn't according to the forums . I had horrendous withdrawal hallucination, sweats , chills, depersonalisation, scared me to death . 9 months off and still get waves of withdrawal sweats chills yet doctors don't believe me. Gp gave me mirtazapine but too scared to take it as don't want the weight gain which I jears is hard to control .
This is the fist video that is positive about tapering off mirtazapine, thank you!!! All the videos i've watched they talk about really bad experiences, i' m on mirtazapine for a year and 10 months, gain 10 pounds, how do you manage the gain weigh? I want to be off of it, but failed everytime i tried because of feel more anxious, woke up at 3am amd unable to fall asleep, feel drowsiness in the morning, i coudnt do it, i have to work and my job requires me to be alert and sharp
Excellent! I used to take Remeron. It made me very sleepy but at the same time it caused me to be jumpy. I was only on it for about 5 or 6 months. Didn't have any withdrawls from it.
Do another update please, what job do you do, how's your relationship, how's your connection with your family, how happy are you, what are your plans for the year,.. it's been 3 years already?
Thanks for reaching out - please do stay tuned for an update. All you asked though is going well! The more detailed questions I'll have to answer in a video :)
@@brokenharbour I just started mirtazapine after taking Lunesta for many years. I would love to hear your thoughts today now that you're off of the mirtazapine....3 yrs later 😁. Your videos have been very helpful and I appreciate you sharing.
The problem will be when you quit it all the way, remeron has such a long half life that the insomnia and withdrawals won't start till 1 or 2 weeks till you completely quit, also you will sleep the best on 7.5 or 15 mg
I'll post an update but I am now completely off it (as of a few days after making this video). Been about a week and a half then and doing well. I am taking Valerian again to smooth the transition, but no pharmaceuticals. Thanks for the comment!
It takes about 5 half lives for a medication to be nearly all out of someone's system. With mirtazapines half being 20-40 hrs, and me being at a few milligrams (
@zxc not anymore I stopped it cold turkey the withdrawals are horrible no energy nausea dizziness diarrhea for 2 weeks ,don't take it I'm trying now hydroxyzine I don't have another option trazodone it's another strong drug or try melatonina 10 mg
Thank you so much for this video. I considered the placebo approach along with the half 7.5 , maybe it will be successful since 7.5 is already a low dose.
You still haven't properly started with the withdrawal, it has been only 2 weeks and you are in sedating dosage now. i am also trying to figure out what is happening to me. i took only 1 week of mirt and have been having a withdrawal for a month, it is insane. i refused to believe it is that - but probably my depression. so what l did, l took 2mg remeron in the night - and first time slept like a baby. and the next day l felt so normal, first time the massive pressure in the chest and feeling of sadness, and crying spells went away. like that. next night l did not sleep well (had something imporant in the morning) but l was still normal! then l stopped again. this feeling of being old me lasted for 2 days and then, like a clock, l got again into mood swings, weird sensation in my arms and legs and insomnia. just like that. maybe l am overly sensitive or under strong placebo but l am shocked that l have this.
Ive been on antidepressants for 35 years,im 7 days in to coming of mertazapine and the first few days i felt amazing, now i feel really bad and insomnia is bad. Im hoping this passes quickly 🙏
i got a major issue here its having the opposite effect with me ive only been taking it 2 weeks im still taking it but struggling to sleep ive been up a whole 24 hours and still feel wide awake the doc demands that i take them and let my body get used to em so i am taking them ive just had another dose about 30 mins ago i think im gonna be up all night again i cant keep doing this man.
It sounds strange what i will ask you. But where you circumcised as a baby? I am in many ways like you, have all sorts of mental isues and it took me years of psychotherapy to recognize that a only suffer from castration terror . I tried many times to stop antidepressant searched for many farmaceuticals but the pain and concequences of my as they call it, circumcision without complication, will never heal nor will it cann be reversed. So I stopped stopping taking antideprresant. Just stopping without knowing the cause of problems is nevrending cycle of stopping and begining. Sorry for my english.
Good for you John. Don’t think I can get off mirtazapine for a while, it’s been a life changer. I’m getting 6-7 hours sleep a night and I’m actually alert during the day. Before mirtazapine, I’ll be getting 2-3 hours, sometimes less so I’ll just be cranky all day at work. Nothing worse than hearing birds chirp in the morning after an entire night of failing to fall asleep. I’ve tried it all - melatonin, benadryl, sleeping pills, exercise, counting, sleep hypnosis, reading.. nope doesn’t work.
+reaverx As long as a prescription drug is working like it should no big deal. For me remeron was not being able to get out of bed and sleeping to 11 in the morning. Not taking care of the things in life as i should. And the doctors telling me it was the solution for me.
Hey Nova, did you try sleep restriction too? I am having the same problems for 2 years now. I pull an all nighter and then next night i sleep. But lots of times i have two all nighters or 3 and in the 4th night fall asleep exhausted. .My problem is that my heart starts beating fast once i lie down..its anxiety related to not sleeping. What helped me a lot was sleep resriction. My therapist inroduced it to me. I go to bed around 2am and get up at 8am. This way the sleeping pressure will set in. Sorry for my English..I am German. I am on 22,5 mg Mirtazapine but i never had the feeling that it sedated me. Meditation helps a lot and positive thoughts. Also i started to accept that I dont sleep. My therapist is famous sleeping expert in germany and he told me that in 25 years working in a sleep lab, he knew only about 2 patients that didnt sleep at all. We believe that we not sleep because we can still scan our environment and we keep thinking while sleeping...but its a very light state of sleep. What also calmed me down is that he told me, that sleep deprivation is not causing physical illness. It is how we react to the Insomia which makes depressed and scared. Meditation, Sleep Restriction and acceptance helped me a lot. I wish you the best!
I have been on Mirtazapine for about 4 years, started on 15mg and am stable on 30mg. the Drug makes me tired, but doesn't keep me asleep (still wake up 3 or 4 times during the night). My doctor wants me when I am in a good place to slowly taper off it. I am also on Aropax (paroxetine) for panic disorder. Dr also said the withdrawal effects will not be as bad as a SSRI. the drug is very good at sedating you though, I take it and about 60-90mins later I am so tired I can't keep my eyes open. I feel it is time to slowly get off this drug, the extra eating is annoying me:)
if you were successful, can you update me? I've only been on it for less than a year. But tried to stop taking 7.5 mg/day cold turkey a few months back. I was fine at first, just my sleep suffered. However, after around 4-5 days I started having massive panic attacks. Ive never had one before that in my life. So i resumed taking it. I'm now afraid to get off of it.
You say you are withdrawing but then in the video you say you are still taking a low dose? I don't think you can judge withdrawal symptoms until you have completely stopped it. I was taking 15mg for sleep for about 6 years, cut to 7.5 for 2 days then stopped completely. 1st week was ok, week 2 and 3 horrible, 4 slightly better and now at 5 weeks. I would have started it again in week 2 but had no tablets in the house so couldn't! Determined to stay off for 3 months so I can fully compare how I am off it to on it!
nalle80 I quit cold turkey about 8 days ago and honestly I was surprised how well it went. (except for not sleeping well). Nothing for 5 days but after that I started feeling a bit sick, threw up once and now I'm dizzy as shit. I took it for about 3 months. 15mg Still nothing compared to quitting sertralin and having the worst weeks of my life about 2 days later.
I've been on it for 2 years now and am currently on 45mg at night. you speak about sleeping through the whole night on them which I am incredibly jealous of! I seem to wake up to urinate every 2-3 hours so I never really get into deep sleep. I'm actually scared to come off them in case I won't be able to sleep at all :(
@GreatestOfTheGreats thanks Im coming off Remeron I only took 15mg for two days only. Now it's almost a week after quitting it and I'm surprised that I couldn't sleep AT ALL last night. I was using it for only 2 days to help with rebound insomnia from benzo withdrawal, Mirtazapine was useful , I slept 8 hours each night I was on it, but the rebound insomnia is awful.
i know this video is long ago, but have you tried cymbalta? i tried mirtazapine but like 3 days, it was okay however i was so scared of gaining weight so i had to stop taking it :(
After medical problem wich is spontaneus resolved i catch mild insmnia and anxiety due to insomnia, when i cant sleep i get anxious. Psyhaitrist prescrib me 7.5 remeron. Take it few times, sleep well but in morning feel grogy...im afraid to take more. Im 40y and try resolve problem by my self...🤨
I came off 45mlg for 2 years straight of remeron and would stay up 2 days before i could sleep... Took about 2 months before sleep was back to normal... NEVER AGAIN.. Lol.i will deal with my depression on my own from now on
I can remember being s kid and staying up all night and staying awake through school and only falling asleep at gone time. I was scared of the dark and would sneak down stairs and watch tv. I'm now 33 and deciding that I dont want to take these tablets any more. Been taking them for 12 years. And my dreams are so sad and angry I cant put up with it any more. Yep so here I am seeing how other people are getting on coming off of them.
Hi I live in the uk, I'm on mirtazapine. My side effects include a sudden numbing startling shock wave through my body that causes me to drop things a tremor like!. Question, did you ever experience that?
this drug made me passout and gsain 30kg and make my psychosus worse ive been a heroin addict before and i tell ya what heroin way easier to get off and stop than this, an awful drug
@@multisync4965 im okay now, i take methadone for anxiety and depression, a lifesaver to me, after 14 years of chopping changing getting nowhere, rivotril is okay but the rest is all shit and gives false hope
Hey great video! Your situation is quite similar to mine. Ever since i was young i had difficulty falling asleep and like you not for any particular reason, i just never seemed to be able to shut off my brain. Eventually I'd fall asleep, but not until 2-3am. I started Avanza at 17 and have been on it ever since. About a year ago i made a sincere attempt to come off it, and while i was successful, there were withdrawal side effects that would ultimately prove too much and I ended up back on it, albeit on a much lower dose. Did you get the crazy itchy skin? that was by far the worst part.
I had that problem in January. I couldnt shut off my brain, terrible insomnia, and waking up scared. I think it was because those days (weeks) I had bad colitis, and I have read that the Gut Microbiota is very important and having problems in it can cause insomnia.
hey man, i wondered how your sleep is nowadays? i have middle sleep insomnia, awakenings in the night often unable to return to sleep. I tried for the first time last night mirt about 3.75mg, I started very low, and unfortunately i still woke at the usual time and didn't return to sleep just very dopey all day and stayed in bed much longer than usual. Do you think I should keep taking it? maybe at 7.5mg?
Definitely still hang in there. Sounds like your doctor is starting you out on the lowest dose possible and will increase to find the minimum effective dose to avoid side effect severity. Also that zombification you felt is very typical - at least it was for me. It should dissapear significantly at about day 3 while holding a constant dose. For me, I slept well on the second day of finding my minimum effective dose (which was 15 mg at the start of treatment when things were at their worst). Im now taking a single med (an MAOI called Nardil) which is working wonders however it makes me feel refreshed after only 4-5 hours of sleep a night. For its effectiveness in other areas of my life, I'll take the insomnia!
@@brokenharbour your content has been really valuable, thank you so much. Was there any reason you didn't go back to Trazadone after you tapered off mirtazapine?
I'm on mirtazapine and I feel great, sleep much better and eat like a horse during the day, haven't experienced any weight gain due to a superhuman metabolism. Dont have any plans to come off it at the moment.
@Arabische Musik No hair loss however I feel my memory isn't the best. I'm only 41. I stopped taking them recently but couldn't as the withdrawal effects were too much.
It makes you eat it makes you sleep outta this freakin world I love it it's been 2 weeks now on it my psychiatrist gave me a six month supply I don't see her until February 2020 so I really haven't experience any major side effects just a crazy dreams summer kind of funny but yeah I do recommend mirtazapine for PPL who experience anxiety panic attacks sleep problems and depression just give it a try
@@kostasvalanidis7560 Unfortunately it IS addictive. When I came off venlafaxine (aka effexor) they gave me mirtazapine to counter the pains of withdrawal. I wish they hadn't done that and I wish I'd known enough to avoid all psychiatric drugs at all costs no matter what because now I'm having to withdraw from mirtazapine. Fortunately I'm currently down to less than 3.75 mg/day. (I'm doing water titration.)
My dr prescribed it for me, but listening to all the side effects while taking it scares me to death. I had ct'd from Ativan 4yrs ago and went through hell and back. I just don't want the slight experience of how withdrawals or the side effects may feel. My brain is very sensitive now.
I've been on the California rocket Fuel Combo for a while. I've been having extreme brain fog and always tired. I got off Remeron and got to the final Effexor dose 37.5mg but still feel awful.. Any advice?
+QuantumPowerX2 Lower the dose opening the pills it took me half a year not to go crazy on effexor. I had suicide thought if i lowered the dose quickly. I opened up a pill took out like one or max 3 granuly (little thing inside) a week. I lowered this way and still had some withdrawal. Only this time no big brain zaps. I tried quiting numerous times. For years. Or i would feel like killing myself or the brainzaps where killing me. I went against doctors advise to do it this way. They told me the way i was doing it i didn't know how much i would be taking as the granules differ in size. They advised me to quit from 37.5 to nothing. As if that is better in lowering the dose. I tried this cold turkey method and they advised and got me or heavily depressed or withdrawal that is unbearable. I took it the lowering the capsule way as many stories are telling on the internet. And it worked i'm free for more than half a year. Good luck. It might take a couple of tries. And the withdrawal or brainzaps will kick in every once in a while but are bearable. (sorry for any typo's, english isn't my first language) I was on effexor for more than 8 years on and off with remeron. A total of 12 years counting i started on remeron. I tried to quit the 37.5 mg more than 6 times. And the only thing working was the slow approach. My brain needed to get used to not have the drugs after all those years. The withdrawal from mirtazapine is peanuts compared to the venlafaxine. If anything really feels really bad, do visit your doctor and tell the truth. Having weird thoughts, you can remember yourself not to act like they are in your brain. Anyways i wish you the best, feel free to contact me.
+Rob M I got off that horrible Remeron it's kinda like being a diabetic on it.. Effexor is another one but I have no way of tapering off unless I switch to prozac temporarily.
hello i use it also and DONT OD IT IT its just as kaotic as overdosing and throwing up wile you hear laughing its felt my head was going to pop and with simulas nicotine neck convulsions as well as dreams from hell crazy shit on nitrazepam widrawing also 315mg mirt and a day later15 nitraz ...
+edwelty I have too. I've written myself off saying I sleep horribly and that I have "lifelong insomnia" without ever checking my inferences to see if these statements still hold at this point in my life. I don't look down upon using medication to help me sleep and that's not the point of this video. It felt like a miracle when I found a medication that worked for me and I hope you find something that works for you. I guess i'm just challenging myself. Maybe i'm not a lifelong insomniac. Maybe labeling myself as an insomniac is a bad call. Just want to find out if that's the case.
i quit cold turkey off 15mg remeron, i only took it for 1 month , what should i expect in the next 2 weeks? the remeron never had any real affect in the 30 days anyway, i woke up normal, gained no weight, and my mood never changed.. it helped me fall asleep and thats it.
And it will hit you the hardest on days 2 through 4 even on a taper and last 7 to 10 days I’ve seen some people still withdrawing 2 months after quitting I’m currently tapering and in absolute Hell
I wonder if you can taper off this drug while doing a more natural drug called CBD oil at the same time. I believe you dont have withdrawal symptoms from CBD oil which is all natural medicine from what I was told and read, and saw many testimonials about. apparently this stuff is good for anxiety, depression, insomnia etc...
Asperger's as well, pretty sure I've seen a couple more of your vids. Mirtazapine worked great, but I put on too much weight. Broke my back in grad school, chronic pain made me turn to marijuana. Which helped with pain, as well as sleep and anxiety (specific strains). Like you, I over analyze everything, I can't not. I noticed while it helped with my pain, it made me more social when I wasn't smoking. New studies have shown THCA, the precursor to the drug that gets you high, helps people with autism. My dating life as taken off since and I'm 10x better at reading people's emotions and using empathy.Withdrawals suck. When I broke my back I first was on copious amounts of opiates, they took me off them early when I still had pain. Worst experience of my life.
I think cannabis has great great medicinal potential especially when using it to give clarity to your thoughts and insights. It's especially great in those circumstances where people use it to think about their current situation and come to conclusions about how to better themselves. Sorry for sounding cryptic. I'm glad you found something that for you! I'm really carving out my bedtime routine at the moment with good success without using mirtazapine. It takes time but is more doable than people initially suppose.
I didn't notice anything than besides becoming more like my normal self. THCA is not psychedelic, you just feel more "normal". I find that my overall GAD and SAD is decreased and I'm much better at actually feeling empathy I've never felt before.
the sedation is the worst when you have to do things at home i fight the sedation everytime but it knocks me out every time.i. use it for depression now 12 years.stopped already 3 times for 2 months but the withdrawal effects didnt go away and becomes worse so i started 30mg again.i eat also not good even with this medicine is this stress related or something in the brain.i think i wasted my brain and body with this chemicals
Still on them on and off but i cant stop completely its the worst medication to withdraw from, in the meanwhile i used oxycodon and even that is easier to come off.
@@Србомбоница86 mine dosage is 15 mg was on 30 mg for 12 years. The anxiety & nausea are just withdrawal effects it will become better but it can take some time.
Agree, please give us an update
ever since I stopped taking this my rem sleep went back to normal and i stopped getting memory problems
How long u take remeron and wich dose?
Thank you for this video. I like how positive you are about the process. I like your attitude. All the best.
It is not effective for depression at 15mg, only for sleep. 30mg is minimum dose for depression, but it is less effective for sleep
At this dosage.
How are you doing now..
Did you manage to get off mirtazapine
Yes I did get off of it. I can sleep normally now but I still wake up at least once in the middle of the night.
I'm sorry to hear about your lost of friend's.
Hopefully it stays that way.
how did it go?
@@striker0603 was a horrible week when I first came off but now I sleep pretty well most nights

Everything you say makes so much sense. Thanks so much for the video! I decided today that I'm gonna come off Mirtazipine for good 😇
hi Lauren, how did you go with withdrawal & how long was you on it may I ask?
Thanks for this valuable info, especially with regard to how frame up one’s mental approach to antidepressant withdrawal
Thanks for the video. Very Helpful. Do you feel hungry even at low doses of 7.5 mg per night?
It’s been three days and this medicine is already working I’m definitely not cured of anxiety but I for sure feel like a weight has been lifted , you not high or anything like that you just feel a sense like everything is going to be okay
If your depressed anxious and cant sleep remeron is a lifesaver. It also stopped my panic attacks in less than a week. Some people have a helluva time coming off it and some don t. Gotta tamper down slowly.
If you want to gain weight, this is the drug for you

It makes me tired during the day I’m on 15 mg and I have 30 mg Been on them for a year I gained so much weight I want to get off them I’m more depressed because of my weight was 98lbs not I’m over 140 and I’ve never been over 115

While on it I gained 40 lbs. ,still could not sleep. awful med. made me more depressed.
are you better?
OK buddy? Thanks.

Hope you're doing okay. Would love to see more videos to see how you are doing.
would love to find out how you are doing now ?.If you are still off metazapine how did you cope with going to sleep,
Very good advice brother, same thinking I have.
But will be better prepared for the future attempt :)
As for if you should continue, I cant answer this, depends on how long you have been on it for, how many mg etc etc there are a few matters but I would maybe go to a couple of medical practioners to get there advise, maybe some who are known for not prescribing antidepressants like lolly pops!
And most importantly above ALL As a follower of Christ my freind I will finish by saying seek him first before anything else Taseu.
God loves you dearly my freind.
Always here for a chat buddy.
Hang in there ok
God bless
I got prescribed mirtazapine 15mg for panic disorder and to help with my Ativan withdrawals and soon to start taper. I just tried 7.5mg and it was super sedative and took me a whole day to literally wake up. I’m very sensitive to meds, so I’m wondering if I should go down 3.75mg till my body gets used to it so I can build up to 15mg. Any suggestions, or extra info? Thanks in advance! 👍
Hey ,I know it's been a year but are you off Mirtazapine now?
been taking since 2006, ive tried not taking it several times but i cant fall sleep at all. i stay awake non stop for days until i take it back.
How are you now?
Did everything go well? I hope so!

Great videos. I hope all is well. Any updates on whether or not your still on effexor and/or mirtazapine? Thanks

@sethaaronfletcher brake them in half ,ive been off 2 or 3 weeks and being honest it was fairly easy for me up to now .Good luck .

I bet you're still on it, it's hard to get off of it
i got a major issue here its having the opposite effect with me ive only been taking it 2 weeks im still taking it but struggling to sleep ive been up a whole 24 hours and still feel wide awake the doc demands that i take them and let my body get used to em so i am taking them ive just had another dose about 30 mins ago i think im gonna be up all night again i cant keep doing this man.
How are you today?
What dosage are you taking for sleep?
Start at 15mg for a about a month, then was put on 30mg for a few months, now on 45 mg.
+reaverx As long as a prescription drug is working like it should no big deal. For me remeron was not being able to get out of bed and sleeping to 11 in the morning. Not taking care of the things in life as i should. And the doctors telling me it was the solution for me.
killerbeenl After a month that tiredness next day feeling went 100% away. Now I can't even tell I'm a zombie LOL
It ll be worse I can guarantee you that
if you were successful, can you update me? I've only been on it for less than a year. But tried to stop taking 7.5 mg/day cold turkey a few months back. I was fine at first, just my sleep suffered. However, after around 4-5 days I started having massive panic attacks. Ive never had one before that in my life. So i resumed taking it. I'm now afraid to get off of it.
What dose are you on now? Are you taking any other supplements besides melatonin to help you? How slow are you going?
I have taken it for 6 days now. My sleep was ok for 3 days but on D4 andD5 I struggle to sleep. Would increasing help my sleep
How did it go? still off the pills of death?
nalle80 I quit cold turkey about 8 days ago and honestly I was surprised how well it went. (except for not sleeping well). Nothing for 5 days but after that I started feeling a bit sick, threw up once and now I'm dizzy as shit. I took it for about 3 months. 15mg
Still nothing compared to quitting sertralin and having the worst weeks of my life about 2 days later.

how did you taper off this drug???.
Thanks for your honesty and sharing
i know this video is long ago, but have you tried cymbalta? i tried mirtazapine but like 3 days, it was okay however i was so scared of gaining weight so i had to stop taking it :(
Your so pretty patootie! ❤
Doctors who prescribe mirtazapine should be required to warn patients that it causes weight gain and can be extremely difficult to come off.
Thanks for your video. It makes a lot of sense.
I came off 45mlg for 2 years straight of remeron and would stay up 2 days before i could sleep... Took about 2 months before sleep was back to normal... NEVER AGAIN.. Lol.i will deal with my depression on my own from now on
I'm going to go cold turkey only on it 3 months
How did you get on
Make more videos please :) I really enjoy them!
How is your taper going?
it’s been 7 years. How are you doing?
I can remember being s kid and staying up all night and staying awake through school and only falling asleep at gone time. I was scared of the dark and would sneak down stairs and watch tv. I'm now 33 and deciding that I dont want to take these tablets any more. Been taking them for 12 years. And my dreams are so sad and angry I cant put up with it any more. Yep so here I am seeing how other people are getting on coming off of them.
This is what taking them long term feels like. The dreams become unmanageable after a while. Something to dread in its own right.
Hi I live in the uk, I'm on mirtazapine.
My side effects include a sudden numbing startling shock wave through my body that causes me to drop things a tremor like!.
Question, did you ever experience that?
It’s called brain zaps
*body zaps. They keep me up at night

@@hampool2239 I've been on it for 3 years bro. I've tried getting off it but it's too hard😔
@@striker0603 you think you will ever get off them? I'm still on them
Hey great video!
Ye Steven? And sleep for like 2 3 hours right? So u would fall asleep 2 to 3 for like 2 3 hours? And repeat night??
@@hassanraza7900 Unfortunately no, When I got to sleep i had no trouble staying asleep. My problem was falling asleep.
@@Lord_Thistlewick_Flanders well that's good. Least u stay asleep
I think that could be more a delayed sleep rhythem
Are you off it now? How are things going?
hey man, i wondered how your sleep is nowadays? i have middle sleep insomnia, awakenings in the night often unable to return to sleep.

@Arabische Musik No hair loss however I feel my memory isn't the best. I'm only 41. I stopped taking them recently but couldn't as the withdrawal effects were too much.
@zxc yes, just make sure you take them at night, as they make you feel sleepy.

Is not addictive??
@@kostasvalanidis7560 Unfortunately it IS addictive. When I came off venlafaxine (aka effexor) they gave me mirtazapine to counter the pains of withdrawal. I wish they hadn't done that and I wish I'd known enough to avoid all psychiatric drugs at all costs no matter what because now I'm having to withdraw from mirtazapine. Fortunately I'm currently down to less than 3.75 mg/day. (I'm doing water titration.)
@@nokomismn9685 thanks for the information:)!
(sorry for any typo's, english isn't my first language)
I was on effexor for more than 8 years on and off with remeron.
+QuantumPowerX2 get off everything, these drugs are horrible, deal with the withdrawal and move on..
+Rob M
I got off that horrible Remeron it's kinda like being a diabetic on it.. Effexor is another one but I have no way of tapering off unless I switch to prozac temporarily.

Hey handsome, but have suffered from insomnia most of my life. It's difficult.

I wonder if you can taper off this drug while doing a more natural drug called CBD oil at the same time. I believe you dont have withdrawal symptoms from CBD oil which is all natural medicine from what I was told and read, and saw many testimonials about. apparently this stuff is good for anxiety, depression, insomnia etc...
this drug is sh#t cant believe they gave me this for sleep
+Northern XY How's the withdrawal from THCA?
I didn't notice anything than besides becoming more like my normal self. THCA is not psychedelic, you just feel more "normal".
I find that my overall GAD and SAD is decreased and I'm much better at actually feeling empathy I've never felt before.
+brokenharbour Love to see a follow up on Remeron . Did it work and did it do damage that you've notice . Thanks
