I aim for the side line all the time on short balls because it is fun to do that but no always helpful in winning a point. This video was extremely helpful for me and I will be practicing this strategy the next time I am out there.

I have a bad habit of going for a bit too much on my shots, swinging a bit too flat and not giving myself enough net clearence. It is silly: you can get depth and annoy your opponent with less effort with high bounces if you just hit a bit higher... but I still do it.

thank you Florian! more video like this would be great. I personnaly try to aim for bigger target on return of serve (Second serve of the opponent). on rallies, i tend to forget about target. one important aspect is the pace the pro players are hitting. I often see "short" balls they hit but with such pace than the other only reply with a cross court short. at a club level, with less pace, the advantage is given to the opponent...

I aim generally to right or left without specific targets. Im going to try practicing aiming 3 feet from baseline and sideline next time. Ive never thought about net clearence much. Going to practice thatbas well

I aim for good height above net and 3ft from sides.

As I started playing more talented players, I felt as if I needed to aim for more line shots to win points. Now I realize that's hurting me and I need to aim for a bigger target. While my consistency improved by aiming for more of the center of the court, I now notice I'm hitting a lot of balls short (because I'm not hitting through the ball). So now I tend to aim long so that ball lands in the opponent's "red zone."

I often hit to close to the net. I tell my self not to do it. Great video.

great advice, I recommend a microphone and filming closer. an echoing room filming far away is not enjoyable to watch.

But it is more excitement to go for the risks. I wouldn't enjoy tennis without big winners.

Club players often do not have the fitness, to play this percentage tennis. There is also one major difference between pros and amateurs. Pros WORK tennis to make a living. Amateurs PLAY tennis to have some fun.
