This story really caught me off guard. At first, I hated how Skarloey was “out of character,” until I realized this story was taking place when he and Rheneas were still young. Now I love it, and how we get a more in-depth view of what their early days were like. Great work as always!
@@merlinandmurdoch7837 That was during the part where they were showing what Skarloey and his driver were swearing on there lives about what happened, so it's very obviously at some point in time after the story.
Such a nice Skarloey story my guy! We don't get many with him acting as he did before he became Old Faithful! Honestly pleasure to help! Little needed fixing my guy, so enjoyable!
Remarkable! I often wondered if the Skarloey Railway would ever have any stories that took place before Peter Sam and Sir Handel were bought, canon or fanmade.
2 years later, and this is still one of my favourites from you. I absolutely adore this story, and how it's like an addition to the Little Old Engines book. This story still gets a good smile outta me even this long later.
I’ve always wanted to see more about when Skarloey and Rheneas were the only engine’s on the line, and you e done wonderful with that. I enjoyed this very much and can’t wait to see what you come up with next !!
"Bother that Ms. Last. We should just leave her behind." "If we did that with every passenger, we wouldn't have any." But not every passenger is chronically late like her.
I personally prefer the TVS pronounciation, as that's the one I grew up with, plus, the RWS pronunciation is a bit hard for me to say. But it's your preference, and I respect it.
Judging by Edward and Emily being the only mainline engines we see and none of the other Skarloey engines, I assume this is set in Skarloey and Rheneas' early days. Still, ace story and quite a clever one. It would explain a little to how he can put up with engines like Sir Handel and Duncan.
@@IsraeliGovernment There’s definitely a lot of love put into it. I could tell from the writing and character. It kinda reminded me of HIT’s version of Skarloey, but in a much better way.
1:00 Wait, what path? As in who do you have to wait for to get a path? If Rheneas is in the sheds, and assuming this is the early years of the SKR, you’re the only engine on the line.
At first, when I first watched this video, I thought Skarloey was being way out of character, but thankfully this takes place in his younger days so I think his character does make sense why he has a reason to be cross with Rhenase for trouble steaming, and while he hast to do the work all by himself
Honestly, I wish so bad that this was a TVS episode, if they made very old engines this would of made an amazing extra story after rheneas got his cab! And I love the amount of stupid sound effects heard in this, great job!
Really enjoyed this! Well written, voiced and filmed! One thing I think is quirky is when you add the random shouts and screams when Skarloey derails at the bend. It almost sounds like they are coming from the passengers which brings a new angle of realism into the story. Was this the intention?
I do like the story, the only problem is where it takes place in the timeline. With Emily and Peter Sam appearing makes me think it takes place in season 7 onwards. Besides that its great!!
this is a different Universe from the main TV series supposed to be a mix of RWS and TV series so Emily it was probably on the railway when it was first built as for Peter Sam that's probably I think that's supposed to take place in modern-day kind of obvious considering that it's supposed to be a dreamlike sequence
I’ve noticed that in the TV show the narrow gauge engines hardly tough any steam but when they come to a stop, it’s like you see all the steam just blow out Why is that?
@@daylightman8459 False. Poorly maintained track of any kind can cause a derail, but it has nothing to do with it being a switch. Also, points set against an engine will not derail it. The engine will either follow the track the wrong way, or if it's coming from the other side, the weight of the locomotive will physically force the points out of the way, keeping the engine on track. I was actually a conductor IRL, and one of the first things they taught us about switches was that running through them will NOT cause a derailment. The weight of the engine is wayyyyyy more than the pressure of the point springs.
