As a 70 yr. old classic rocker, I think Paul Rodgers is the most versatile rock vocalist off all time. He had monster hits with Free, then with Bad Company, followed by the Firm, topped off by successfully touring with Queen in honor of the late, great Freddie Mercury. A fantastic multi-instrument musician who can sing every genre, every time.
Paul suffered Several devastating strokes recently and eventually recovered well enough to record another album?????? ua-cam.com/video/X3gD8OhDpQA/v-deo.htmlsi=J7r-fyTxj3Lmptd_
Paul Rodgers still has the chops, the greatest blues-rock voice to come out of the UK, period. Didn’t have the opportunity to see him with Free unfortunately, but have seen him live with Bad Company and Queen, a legend.
Watch Bad Co in Long Beach,CA on Don Kirschner's Rock Concert from 1974. Listen to the first song(their title track,Bad Co) and listen to his voice. If you still think he's not the best blues/rock singer ever, you're on the wrong planet.
Just a few weeks ago I was shocked to learn that Paul isn’t in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Really, though, I shouldn’t have been surprised. It’s a poor reflection of the hall, not Paul. Everything he’s done is brilliant.
If you haven’t seen the movie Wonderland , watch it. Great movie based on a true story and you’ll love the soundtrack. It stars Val Kilmer and a young Kate Bosworth.
Actually written by a chap named Tommy Morrison who was friends with PR until he recorded it and claimed he wrote it . Big fall out and heated exchanges . Before the days of the trendy court cases . Paul is from Middlesbrough, North East Uk.
@@ArtbyJoeH that's interesting since it's one of my all-time favorite songs. Where can I read about that? The first thing that comes to mind, not that it isn't possible, is that it is definitely written in Paul's style. His choruses are almost always one phrase repeated a few times and nothing else.
Coda was a great album... It's good to see the Rock n Roll Generation still scootin along.... Sail on Rockers...even if one puff at a time...only when you got 80 ft of waterline though.....and All the Flags are a Flyin.....Great interview thank you
Paul Roger's and Steve Mc queen .the coolest men to walk on earth . Want to know how you should act like a man .when you want women to know your cool .they are THE examples
BadCo is one of my top three, the others being Yes and the Kinks. Paul Rogers was a conquering general. Mick Ralphs plays the silences better than the notes. Boz was big&bad. Simon Kirke somehow turned his drumsticks into lightsticks, creating a Museum of Science lightshow on the roof of the Cumberland County Coliseum, the greatest trick I ever saw. Paul sings all the way to the backrow, the cheap seats. .. I have had many a rough day in this life. My happy place, inside my head, is that night. Desolation Angels is the most overlooked rock classic of that era. I just want to take the time, to tell those guys I love them.
While Free , Bad Company are very well known bands with PR as lead vocalist, The Firm which has Jimmy Page on leads is very good. Satisfaction Guaranteed is an excellent song of The Firm - haunting tune with both guys on firm
I wish some youtube channel producers would take a course in audio production because there is such a wide variety of audio levels. I know enough about microphones and not all microphones are created equal. Ambiance in a room is a factor. TG I don't ever have to worry about your channel unless the person you are interviewing has a bad internet connection. Then that drives me bonkers.
Elvis, Freddie Mercury, Robert Plant, Steve Perry and Paul Rogers are my all time top 5 greatest male rock singers. Josh Kiszka of Greta Van Fleet is honorable mention.
The stand out performer's vocalist frotmen i have seen was bad company and humble pie with steve marriott these 2 bands always better live than recordings you referenced Kenney jones he has played drums for small faces. With marriott then faces with Rod and the who with rodger daltrey and the law with paul Rodgers some cv , i wonder who kenney thought was the Mam
I Suggest You Go Listens To Other Free Songs! Heartbreaker! Be My Friend! Fire&Water! Seven Angels! Going Down Slow! On Radio They Over Played All Right Now!
In my opinion Paul Rodgers is the greatest rock singer of all time, because he's still sounds great now, maybe getting better with age. Robert Plant was great in the 1970'S, but his voice has greatly deteriorated since then.
🤔 can't think of 49 better in the genre.. actually can't think of 1 better. For me, the nearest would be Jimmy Dewar, Frankie Miller, Paul Carrack. Rodgers has been consistently nailing it for 5 decades...Still in original keys
You must be unfamiliar with Paul's 50 years of recordings. No worries, all his music is timeless and it will be great even if you are just hearing it. Please start with the Free stuff.
The greatest blues'rock vocalist EVER Mr Paul Rodgers
Not only was Paul Rodgers the best vocalist in the past , he is in the present.

Paul is amazing. He sounds as good now as he did back in the day. Very few singers that you can say that about ❤️
Jimmy Hall only other vocalist from classic rock sounds like he did in 1973

I think he lives close to the Canadian Rockies in Alberta.
LEGEND!!
"Shooting Star" is a good song. I just discovered that one in the last year.
If you haven’t seen the movie Wonderland , watch it. Great movie based on a true story and you’ll love the soundtrack. It stars Val Kilmer and a young Kate Bosworth.
All Right Now is even better…..

My God .....at first glance I thought I thought John was interviewing Mick Ralphs. Bad Company in any incarnation is rock royalty.
Paul Roger's and Steve Mc queen .the coolest men to walk on earth .
Want to know how you should act like a man .when you want women to know your cool .they are THE examples
Paul is married to Cynthia Kereluk a former Miss Canada.

"Burning Sky"' is my favorite!
ready for love great song.
Love the stuff he did with Brian and Roger from Queen!
While Free , Bad Company are very well known bands with PR as lead vocalist, The Firm which has Jimmy Page on leads is very good. Satisfaction Guaranteed is an excellent song of The Firm - haunting tune with both guys on firm
Really good interview, thanks!
Paul lives in Summerland BC

Paul is the GOAT of what? Great artist, but certainly not the GOAT. Free’s All Right Now is an awesome song though.

Rodgers is EASILY the greatest rock vocalist of all time no one comes close
Obviously not to familiar with Rock n Roll
