I also cover the gator locks. I guess you could say it is a bonus towards the end of the video.

Got to get some of those alligator clamps. Didn't find them locally maybe I find them in amazon or eBay
i found them at tractor supply. they are wonderful
They are actually camlock fittings, that's the correct industrial name for them
camlock. you got it. i think the gatorlock is the brand.
Gotta be somebody...
Where is your Amazon store connected?
i have links to amazon on my website and in every video in the description field are links to amazon. amazon just made some changes so actually stores i had are gone but links to the products or similar products are always listed in my description field. over the next few months i will have my website updated with amazon product.
How much money did the house cost
i forget how much the hose cost. i did buy it at tractor supply the price i recall online was the same as store price. its also where i bought the gatorlocks.

is it possible to pump from a ditch which is 150ft away if I have a PVC 1" pipe 150 in front of my 1 inch water pump or would it burn out. The ditch is 5 feet deep and I have 150ft of neighbor land in between my garden and the ditch. Is it possible to prime 150ft of 1 inch pipe or would it simply drain into the ditch.
each pump should have in the specs info you are looking for. some pumps need to be primed others do not. i think what you are wanting to do it is possible just need to find the right pump.
Wait a second you said at the beginning the tank was 5000 gallons the tank was not full so how could you be over 5000 gallons in that tank the Overflow pipe is nearly at the top of these tanks ( I should know I have 4 of them) and that's at 5000 gallons your water line was like a quarter of the way to the top so you're nowhere near or over 5,000 gallons in that tank. P.s. the max gallons for that tank( for safety and pressure is 5,050 gallons I own 4 of them this is how I know.
P.s. You should think about getting a small pond pump and having it in your tank so it circulates air through your water so that your water doesn't get stagnated and bacterial growth doesn't grow in the tank its called aerating your water
I usually put a cap of bleach in each one of my takes every 2 months and I leave the pond pump running so it circulates the water and the bleach killing any and everything that's in the water so that my cattle do not get stomach viruses.
good point on the bleach. the water is treated with hydrogenperoxide and i have put some bleach in after it sits for a while. i thought of the circulating pump just dont want to use up the power from by batteries.

you could always get one of those solar powered pond pumps from harbor freight those are what I'm using I don't use a battery with them I just let the sun activate the solar panel and run the pump during the daytime and at night who cares not me lol ......
king Mc R. Do youhave four of those to? Is that how you ‘know”?
I would install a 2 inch threaded 90 on the inlet pointing down on the 5000 gallon tank then the cam lock fitting. I’ve been told that it puts less wear and stress on the rubber o ring in the cam lock fitting.
makes sense.
Nice vid once again. I have a place up around you; I think. I'm 7 miles from the Stanford General store. I have my water delivered but heard one can fill up somewhere around there. If you don't mind too much, what do you pay per gallon?
i was getting water from the stanford str but my water trailer has a bad leaf spring so have all american feed in concho bring in the water. i am sure the prices have changed but last i paid was last yr $75 for 1000 gallons.
Son of bitch, you said to pay attention and I blinked and missed it.
just play it again. lol and again and again and again. lol wait .. didnt i do slow motion for part of it. lol
Too you don't want too much cavitation occuring inside the pump will drastically shorten it's life ... With that valve cavitation will occur more so
good info. thanks.
dude...that pump is a cheap piece of shit. Won't last long...get a fucking Honda god damn it.
sometimes money determines if you get a cheap one or a honda. sorry maybe honda in the future but for now the cheap pump is earning its money. lol
Those are called CAM locks. I use them for Fire Fighting hoses.
yes. i like gatorlocks its more fun the say. lol plus tractor supply calls them gatorlocks.
Are most of these pumps rated for potable water? Are you sure something from HF is good enough for drinking water? I'm about to do exactly what you're doing now- but I find many hoses and pumps are not potable water rated. When you find them, they're pricey.
i think what makes them potable or not is if the inside is coated with something to keep it from rusting, maybe the oils that are used from the factory or maybe some other legal thing that has to be done to it to make it potable. if i use the pump only for this purpose and the water i store i filter and treat it i am not worried about it. if i find that the pump inside is really rusty and a lot of it is getting into my water i might do something to change but right now i do flush the pump out before i pump into my storage tank. i guess its best to have a potable pump but temporary i go with this one. lol.
@@ArizonaHotHomestead Cool. I'm doing 4 x 275 gallons a week, and the electric pump is taking forever. I'm definitely going to borrow your gator lock idea- good stuff.
hello sir can i ask what will i do i have a gas water pump 7m in suction while my deep well is 14m
if i understand you right the pump you have will only suction up 7m but your water table is 14m? sounds like the pump will work to hard and burn up. keep in mind i am no expert so i would do more research on that pump
I use mine for sucking up gold.... Ive got a fever... The season is here.
nice. sucking up gold is like making you money. one could say its money generating pump. pumping gold. lol
Jeff it is great that you take the time to show everyone how easy it is to use all the gadgets on your homestead!! Keep the videos coming!!
you is welcome. . if one plans to live like these its good to at least have something to refer to. I know I learned a lot the years leading up to me starting my homestead. its my way of giving back

1:20 Ooh, missed a great Hanz and Franz "pump you up!" opportunity.
lol yea I thought if that afterwards. lol
great setup,,, anything that makes lifer easier is brilliant
no doubt. but I have to remember to pay attention becus in 2 minutes we're don't pumping 300 gallons. lol
Can i use that pump for a pressure washer ? With garden hoses
How do you keep it from freezing in winter we are north west of you near snowflake and working on getting septic in and will have to haul water
a dark color tank will attract heat and the volume of water is the key. i heard that if you have over 1k gallons in a dark tank in our area we should be fine. use heat tape on the water lines and keep the pump from freezing.
@@ArizonaHotHomestead thanks we have 40 ac North West of you. Still working on getting septic installed
New sub here. Your videos are awesome.. Very informative content.
sweet. welcome aboard. i hope you find my videos entertaining but also informative.
Wow very good! Thumbs up and Greetings from Ireland! :)
wow Ireland. how cool. I have to admit I peeked at your channel before I replied. lol hope you don't mine me peeking. lol interesting videos. I am going to have to watch more of them. thank for watching mine.
Looks like you are really coming a long. It's hard w/ water to keep it clean and useable. Must be nice though to have that many gallons storage. I go thru my 30 gal so fast, so I wonder how much value that would be if the water hook up ever went down for long. Usually it goes down just for a day, so the stored water has me covered.
at some point maybe utilize a water tote on a trailer and have someone or maybe you use it as back up water supply. It will be tall enough to gravity feed into your trailer .

With the large inlet valve at the pump intake, is there danger of damaging the pump if it is running and you close off the water intake to the pump???
by closing off the intake you cut off the water starving the pump and it will destroy the pump. some pumps can run for a short period with out water but it will create a vacuum with no oxygen or water which will more likely damage the pump.
Sweet! Thanks for showing the world how to connect and disconnect the male & female connectors. Pretty self-explanatory. I kind of needed to watch how you fill the huge water tank from the smaller water tank. Thank you, thank you and more thanks!
anytime. seeing is believing i guess. sometimes when i watch a video i think to myself wow that was easier than i thought it would be. lol. . thanks for watching glad it was helpful.
Hi Jeff I liked the Gator locks you shared. I've never seen them before. And you demonstrating them more than once that helps me get the hang of it. I'm trying to learn more about gadgets and handy tools too! Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
you are welcome. learning about gadgets and handy tools can be fun, if you don't mind why are you interested??
What gas will used in this pump
gas to run the pump but pump just water
Any way to get the Tote higher than the big tank, and use gravity feed?
might be tough . the take inlet is about 5 to 6 feet high .
What's the lift? And any ideas on how you could hook this up to pump from a lake or stream?
don't know the lift. I am sure using these types of suction hoses it would work. need a screen to protect the pump from debris as I am sure you know . I am sure each pump as info on it about the suction and lift in feet.
Thanks Jeff! I'm getting ready to buy a pump like yours to fill my tanks. Great video.
. awesome. those gatorlocks sure make things easier. they also have 1 1/2 inch and greater but the 2 inch seems for me to be the norm so I went with 2 inch.
ArizonaHotHomestead
It don't take all day for you to move some water!, Nice setup Jeff!
thanks. after using it a couple of times I am glad I got it.
Awesome pump!! You could hook that up to pump out of your 5000 gal tank through a fire hose for wildfire protection if ever needed!! Love the gator locks!!
you bet . i need fire protection becus i dont live in a fire district so i only get help if its a wild fire.
I'm learning so much from you!
oh please. maybe what not to do. lol
ArizonaHotHomestead lol
Holy crap!! That was a lot of water in a few minutes. Very nice gator locks. Makes life a lot easier. Everything always looks neat and new. Arizoniahothomestead marathon weekend for me. I have to catch up.

Hey Jeff, great videio, thank you. Hey the 5000 gal water tank. I was wondering how much $ & where you purchased it from?
purchase the tank? at the store duh.. lol only kidding. the cost seems to range between 40 and 60 cents per gallon of the tank so a 5000 gal tank cost is around 2500 bucks. in Arizona the phx area check out tank n barrel they have a location in tempe and apache junction. mine I got from show low garage door/rain gutters/water tanks. I noticed in a town like show low a place like Tractor Supply, Ace Hardware will have them but not sure on their cost. . does that help?
Thank you Jeff. Yes very helpful
Nice pump
thanks. i love it.
do idiots ever run on your homestead?
lol wow that is a loaded question... friends, family, me well outside of those idiots I haven't noticed anyone who should not be here. does that answer your question?
Yeah. (I saw a survivor show tat included trash on icebergs. )Hunters, campers end up all over!
no respect. how sad. I will say I have noticed some of the vacant properties people have placed their trash there. most of it is large items that is hard to just throw in a trash can.
You displayed already made items. Where is your in put
not sure i understnad. where is my in put? where did i buy the items? local tractor supply, harbor freight and online.

.
Question. You may have covered it in another video but is your water rain caught, brought in or have you drilled down to the water table and put in a well?
great question. a well? well.... the cost is around 20k and about 800feet so unless I win the lotto I probably wont be doing a well... rain harvesting is in the future but for now I take my water tote to a local place and buy 330 gallons for around 9 bucks. . I do look forward to the day when rain harvesting is set up. I would assume if all goes well by this time next year.
20k for 800 feet? Damn. Thats a low water table lol It cost me 5k for 180 feet. Totally worth it though.
@@ArizonaHotHomestead hey Jeff, love your videos. I just bout some land about 15 miles east of Seligman. was wondering, if you don't mind me asking. where are you located? and where is that local place you're buying you bulk water?? if you prefer, private message me. thanks, keep up the good work!!
Show Low area. local guy for the water. Seligman is a great area. almost bought there.

is this vdo for gas water pump or Gator lock add? confusing
both. all the above. they go hand in hand.
no pump is needed .
great video Jeff
hey stranger. lol thanks. how is everything
@@ArizonaHotHomestead doing good now have a 24 volt solar set up 1.3 kw
@@roydredge1273 sweet more power is nice.
Impressive. Most impressive.
I sure was impressive to watch that water level drop.
very smart idea about your water pump system👍
thanks.
I think I'd find a way to gravity transfer the tanks.
p.s.
good vid.
thanks. gravity feed would be nice but i needed to go up and without jacking up the water trailer 6 feet the pump works great. lol plus i think its easier. lol
Jeff,
You have come along way since I last viewed your channel....Great!
thanks. lol since your last view lol what the heck you been doing. watch all my videos over and over and over. lol just kidding. lol .... it sure has been fun.
No I dont have time for that... I was just letting you know you did well.
thanks. I get it . it does amaze me how some people don't have lives and do watch youtube for hours on end. I do appreciate when you do find time. meanwhile you/family come first, its called having a life. lol
ArizonaHotHomestead. I do it in the North Eastern part of the states. Would never have time to post a vlog or video channel. I am retired and doing what I am is a full time job.

can u give name of that valve please?

jeff,
Do you live off grid at your property full time?
as of may 2015 I have been fulltime. totally off grid well I am getting there. got my solar up and running, rain harvesting wont be completed until next summer, so I buy water from a local commercial well. and I still have to work for a living. lol so utilities wise yes off grid.
I was just wondering. If you don't mind me asking what line of work do you do? I ask because I own property north of you, about a hour and twenty minutes from show low and about 35 or 40 mins. to st. Johns and the jobs that are available are pretty scares. do you travel a large amount or work from home type of deal? I drive threw Concho to get to and from my property and there is not much work I would think. just questions as I am planing on taking the full time jump the first part of the year.
I spent 6 months looking and nothing. went with a temp agency and got work in couple of weeks. it lead to reg employement with kalil bottling as a merchandiser. great early morning start and the faster I work the sooner I get home. lol. az temporary personnel tell them Jeff who was hired by kalil recommended . I don't get anything for it. if you can get a cdl the propane companies are always looking for winter help for deliveries. The biggest issue is you got to cover the cost of gas to work in order for the job to be worth anything. hope that helps.
How is the efficiency of gas usage?
not sure. i dont use it enough to run out of gas. i do drain the gas so when i use it next i can have fresh gas. not sure how efficient.
Hannah Robinson I believe depending on the RPM of the engine but it’s about 3 to 4 hours to a tank of fuel and the tank is I believe approximately just under a gallon.
like the setup
thanks so much
Good job sir
