- The Vertical Flight Society (VFS) recorded videos of 44 different helicopters in action at Heli-Expo 2022. The Helicopter Association International (HAI) held HAI Heli-Expo 2022 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas, March 8-10, 2022. A showcase of the commercial helicopter industry, there were 48 complete helicopters on display and seven conducting flight demonstrations from the Dallas CBD Vertiport (JDB) and Dallas Executive Airport (RBD).
Once the convention ended, the VFS video team recorded most of the display helicopters flying away from the convention center from a temporary heliport (TX55) on the southeast side of the exhibit hall. This was a unique opportunity to see some of the world's most popular civilian helicopter models in flight over a short period.

VFS was founded as the American Helicopter Society in 1943 by the pioneers of the helicopter industry, who believed that technological cooperation and collaboration was essential to advance vertical flight. VFS is the global non-profit society for engineers, scientists and others working on vertical flight technology. For more than 75 years, the Society has led technology, safety, advocacy, and other important initiatives, and has been the primary forum for interchange of information on vertical flight technology.
Today, history is repeating itself with VFS playing a similar role helping to advance today’s revolutionary electric VTOL aircraft. Subscribe to "The Electric VTOL News" e-newsletter published every two seeks by the Vertical Flight Society since 2016 at www.evtol.news.

Capturing 44 helicopters in the Heli-Expo Flight Demos & Fly-Out is incredible! The variety and precision of the helicopters on display are truly impressive. Thanks for sharing this amazing aviation event!
Wooo cool thanks for the helicopter
4:32 the motion blur on this shot confused me at first as it seemed like the motion blur from the rotors was wider than the amount the blades moved between frames (basically the motion blur was overlapping itself). However I’ve now realized that the fast shutter speed is only capturing a small fraction of the rotors movement, and that the blades are moving almost 100 degrees between frames. What we think is the same rotor in the next frame is actually the one behind it, which has moved so fast that it’s blur overlaps the one that came before it. Assuming a frame rate of 24fps, I was able to calculate that the rotors had a speed of roughly 396rpm and that the camera had a shutter speed of around 1/79
The lack of rolling shutter artifacts in this compilation makes me very happy. What camera was this filmed on?
😊
great job
The camera shutter speed is perfect on those spinning blades.....awesome video!
Bell 407gxi❤❤❤
smooth
Best 😊🎉

I really enjoy watching you flying that raptor 30 I had one many years ago but I couldn't get out very often cuz the guy that was going to help me learn how left the city I had another friend that was going to help me fly cuz he had a raptor 50 but his wife didn't seem to want me over there much anymore so I had to lose my chances of learning how to fly and I miss out on that but I love watch you fly I subscribe so I can see more of your videos You are totally awesome I love how you how well you fly that very very good I wish I could have left blown like that I haven't had a few taba fantasy 12 channel fancy radio for it I flew one time when I had a guy from Turkey in my town going to school there and then all sudden he left quickly so I never had a chance to go out anymore with him and I didn't want to take up a chance of busting it up cuz one of the other guys in my RC club back in Ames Iowa where I live for 60 years of my life I'm down in Louisiana now after my mother died so my mother with family now down here but my friend in RRC club he told me he got out of it because every time he crashed it was costing at least $150-$200 and he was crashing too much So we decided not to do it anymore but at least I have a DJI phantom to and a DJI phantom 3 drone I can fly much easier and has satellites that automatically lock onto it and makes it a lot easier to fly

Wonderful proud to be associated rotary wings for 35years
I really loved the sound of that kaman K1200, it reminded me of a 2-rotor helicopters, even though this one had 4. Very unique machine.
