Despite its flaw, the chemistry is so damn good you have got to watch it anyways. Lol. It got a slow follow but really worth your time. I never like lead couples as much as I love these two together.
I think I'm going to build a shrine for Ni Ni. Seriously this girl is out of this world. In the beginning I couldn't stand her character at all but she makes it worth it and what happens to her personality in her next "lives" make it so worth it. I've never ever seen so much depth in acting (and beauty. Ugh I can't get over this girls beauty). When she's sweet she's soo sincerely warm... And when she's cold ah... Stinging ice. I wish the plot after she came back from the mortal world was better. The two ep where she comes back and after is amazing but after that it looses steam. And I know Jinxiu is our wonderful gray unicorn which is why I wish they could've focused a bit more on his journey, how his moral compass eventually tipped the scales. I think of him as someone whose 'good' as long as its convenient and doesn't hinder himself too much. But he wants to be better. I also loved yunfengs character so much, the light went out when he got sealed in stone. Overall I still think the drama delivered. I think the pace, plot and development of TMOPB is better but I love these characters more. Also jiuchen and lingxi... The chemistry! Arhghh.. Actually everyone had good chemistry in this drama. Even baoqing and that demon dudes adopted son. And finally seeing a NiNi character in power in the end sort of gave me some solace after what happened in rise of the phoenixes. Even seeing her with jiuchen all lovey dovey was real therapeutic. Speaking of Chang Chen... Damn, really good casting. He's such a man man, but when he smiles his dopey smile...aaaahhh If anyone is reading this comment, does anyone know what the differences are between this universe and TMOPB? I realise here there's no time dilation between mortal and immortal realms. And demons are evil incarnate instead of a different race. Actually I'd like to know more on general Chinese mythology too. Can anyone point me to somewhere I can start?
I'm sure that Chang Chen knows that he is older than the rest of the actors of today, so what? We all going to get older, and I think he has done a phenomenal job in this show, he delivered what was expected from a male leading actor regardless of his age and look.
lmaoo i’m so glad you pointed out the earrings thing cuz i noticed that, too. i kept admiring qinghao’s earrings and i barely saw ling xi wear any until the end
Gosh!!! Love your review. Absolutely love this drama. Your review bring it to another level. Lol thanos snap!! I also thought their magic remind me of Karma-taj magic too. Love it this is gold!!!!
Gotta love all of the references you've put on this video and yeah the dragon does look a bit odd..?I mean the face and body looks partly fine but the wings is just😂😂😂Isn't that supposed an angel's wing or something? The last question though,I think that could be applied to many drama and also hollywood movies bc you know if they had actually made all the characters communicated with each other then there'd be no story to tell🤣🤣🤣hence no profit to gain for the writers, directors, and staff
I always like your vid. So true lol. The kingdom free commercial of detergent company XD I hope you also make about Listening Snow Tower. Love and Destiny & Listening Snow Tower are my favorites for now XD.
@@jastringtanoto8176 Agree with this. The trailer is really interesting and I kinda like the story plot line, but the character development and the ending is suck
I really liked this drama BUT they didn’t do the ML with the terrible pulled back hair that made everyone’s head look flat I found it very distracting The second ML was awesome not crazy about some of his head gear tho🤔 Although I thought the costumes were stunning and the performances amazing!
Lol 13 is too exaggerate tho. I think it should have ended when she successfully came back to the immortal realm. The acting is undeniably solid tho :)
I used to be annoyed whenever I saw a naïve female lead who did all kinds of silly things, but now I kind of accepted the trope and just enjoy their stupidity.😂 Can't really expect strong female leads from C-dramas when they have original novels with all kinds of interesting female characters yet keep rewriting and depowering them on their scripts. I've been disappointed so many times that I've given up hoping. The script of L&D is original (the novel is written afterwards). So I won't complaint about the silly girl trope. At least they didn't ruin my beloved characters from novels. By the way, Nini's acting is quite convincing in this case. I wouldn't have watched it if it casts some other actress who plays fool like, well, let's say, a ridiculous fool for real. Some of their actings cringe me painfully.
@@quippequest Yes. There are more details in the novel. For instance, we now know that Ling Xi had been queen of Shanling for 19 years, and Jiu Chen had picked up a fight with the new preceptor because he had joined Ling Xi for lunch once. That's why the young man refused Ling Xi's invitation in the drama. I imagine he'd been beaten hard. I haven't read the novel myself because the writing is not very good and I am quite picky as a reader. These are informations from someone who has read it.

Ni Ni deserves all the praise she got :) And yes, agreed on the plot after her trial, very rushed and kind of unnecessary too.
It was rushed because they had to move out for the filming of Eternal Love of Dreams. 🤪
Otherwise... it may not have been so rushed.
When you asked the question about the episodes, 12 came out without hesitation. I was so close!! I think communication is the death of a C-Drama.
👍 👍

Weird, isn't it :D
Love and destiny I love so so much especially chang chen look his face will know what he want to act is a good actor love him 😍❤️
I never really noticed that Ling Xi had no earrings, meanwhile Qing Yao has badass earrings I can’t stop staring at. 🤣
Qingyao's earrings are one of a kind😂
I love your review, so unique and funny!

I think this drama is beautiful compare to others silly one.

Ahh, that's very true :) And yes, the dragon's wings (??? Considering how most Chinese dragons usually don't need wings?)
@@quippequest apparently there is one chinese dragon which have wings
As gold as ever
Good recap! You should totally do Arsenal Military Academy. So much material for you there lol
to narriator: i love your sarcastic tone.

Ahh, that explains the guy's reaction when Lingxi asks him to stay for food. They should have filmed that then :D
😆😆😆
