Absolutely the finest exemplar of how to play the electric guitar. a perfect exemplar of how to plat music, period. Immaculate the whole way as always. Destined for greatness.
Hey everyone, I know its been awhile since I've posted a video. I've done a lot in a year outside of youtube, but I've also finished the audio work for 5 video game covers, so more is coming. I didn't want to post just the audio for them without video accompanying it, so I just need to find time to dust my camera off. Cheers!
How did you achieve the pipe banging noise? That's gotta be the hardest part to do correctly of this song. A lot of other remixes have awkward sounding, clunky and incorrectly tuned notes for that part and this is the first one I've heard that's been done really well!
Funny you should comment on the difficulty of tuning the pipe hits, I probably went through a dozen variations on that sound before I settled on this version. It all started from a decently recorded sample of a 1-1/2" cast iron pipe I had lying around in my basement. Recorded it uncut, then using some algebra and a table of note frequencies, calculated what length to cut it to in order to generate a C6 note (1046.5Hz). After cutting the pipe, I hit that fucker with random shit lying around my house, then recorded a hit with a material I liked (a decent sized chunk of balsa wood) with an AT2050 Condenser. After that, I EQ'd the shit out of it to remove all the ear-piercing frequencies I could find (ow) then applied the reverb you hear in the track. To generate the different frequencies, I programmed the track in my DAW like you would a synth.
Woah, you're right, one of the samples sounds just like it. I did create the long pipe hit from scratch, but the other one was from a sample library I found online. I guess I know where that one came from! Liked your comment for the detective work though, wish my ears were that good.
this is bangin, very nice work
1:18 to 1:33 is my favorite part. Awesome job, you got way closer to the actual song than N.Sane Trilogy at some parts.
The struggle of trying to sit while owning a cat is very real.

Great cover, it rocks hard :p
caught the main atmosphere of this level very well dude, awsome! subbed
Interesting approach here. Keeping the mood of the original (plus the tube-pipe effects), and injecting GOOD damn guitars Like a Boss :D
Incredibly smooth work my friend! Captured the heart of the tune :) can't wait to hear more.

That is probably one of the more badass things I've heard in a while lol. The effort really shows in the song because it sounds fantastic
Brad Kroll Holy crap.
Yeah! Science!

That is awesome, sounds just like how Mancell wrote it! Can you play any of the music from Warped (3rd game of the series)?
