      @@gameplaychannel1309 Sure you can, you just need the scale of your desal to match the scale of your megacity. If you can make some sort of black water container that heats up in the sun and evaporates a few gallons per day, then you just need to figure out how many containers you need to reach the number of gallons needed. Imagine a huge group of them, like a solar panel farm in a desert or on the surface of the ocean.

    I listened to every word and still not one person mentioned household grey water systems. With all the solar panel access we have in nearly every country and more affordable than ever, this energy source can treat using osmosis filtration of waste water within the home and re-purpose it as potable water in some uses, and then safe drinking water in others. There are filters already made that can do this. There are also home which are using grey water systems, already. It just needs to be sourced by those with vision.

    I think having this kind of information available to users using the water would be highly valuable in making people more aware of their water usage and water usage habits.

    The better way is gravity induced vacuum distillation water boils at room temperature in a vacuum. Ever notice how you can hold a bottle of water upside down its neck in a full bucket of water and the water in the bottle stays in the bottle?
    Well if the bottle was 35 feet long you would see about a foot of empty space at the other end, that is a vacuum.
    now just add another bottle doing the same thing connect them with a condenser coil heat one side and cool the other and steam will be created and become fresh water on the other side.
    Add in all the valves and engineering to expand on the idea and you can get hundreds of gallons a second this way.

    They can probably further increase their water conservation by building enclosed water storages instead of having an open reservoir, they should be losing a lot of water to evaporation.

    Just so you know, my country is rumored to become the next best global power if everyone start fighting for clean water due to all the climate changes, because it has the most reserves of clean water in the world. It's Brazil.
    Cities on the capital have gone though water ration for half of the last year. Despite it being on a semi-desert, sewer and water galeries's waters are just thrown away somewhere, making used water clean again is a foreign concept, and to this day even poor people wash their walkways by throwing water on them from afar with hoses instead of using soap and only a bucket of water, or just using a broom

    • @r2dxhate

      @@r2dxhate Making ocean water drinkable is possible and simple but expensive. Same for recycling water. All countries are running out of places to take clean water from, and mostly the 1st word ones are losing water even faster due to industries.
      If we don't implant the culture of reusing and not wasting water everywhere and get businesses aboard and don't find a better way to build desalination machines and water treatment facilities, then yes, you should beware of samba dancers

    • @r2dxhate
      @r2dxhate 5 років тому +1

      @@ViniSocramSaint it's only expensive if you try to use reverse osmosis filters, instead of the free energy of the Sun. It's just not competitive in most areas where rivers already exist. We also let most of our rivers flow into the ocean, which is needed sometimes for certain animals and the health of some bays, but we can still create a pathway for salmon and think of other solutions to allow us to reuse most of that water before it goes into the ocean. If we can pump fuel across the country, we can pump water to the tops of mountains to makeup for low snowpack years.

    • @ViniSocramSaint
      @ViniSocramSaint 5 років тому

      @@r2dxhate We have way more ways to clean water than just applying a lot of pressure and letting it flow though a membrane, which resorts to a lot of power and may not let other minerals through, and heating up water through letting the sun do the work needs constand good weather and good conditions and take too much time, and we still need to find a way to catch the droplets of water using a condensing mechanism and a way to ad the minerals we need afterwards. It's expensive any way.
      Besides, rivers need a source to exist and all of them flow to some ocean. Due to climate changes the sources are weakening, so some rivers are dead, others are getting less refill and the ones that are untouched can't accomodate our needs because the others are weakened. Having a river nearby simply doesn't save us anymore, not mattering if we can use it's waters without damaging nature or not.
      And fuel actually comes on trucks. What we pump around are water and gas, and we still need to use science tricks to be able to pump using less force and less electricity, as dividing the grid along certain altitudes and using water towers, because we simply can't pump everything anywhere because we don't have all the power in the universe to do it, and trying to keep a river alive just to take the water later takes too much energy so why not just not do it?
      The best strategy is still to find a way to reuse water we already have, which means, to clean it after use then use it again. And not get the world hotter than it have already got. But nobody can do it effectively or not even want to do it.
      Go Brazil for the win in WW3!

    Water conservation can never happen until and unless people really face a water crisis. Conservation is not a solution to the problem. Not at the individual level.

    pure water now a days it is only a dream during I mean up to the 1975 -80 the water in my area of lakshadweep surrounded by Arabian sea was purest in the earth, after breaking the hardest rock we made well which is hardly one and half feet deep , the water was crystal clear and quenching the thirst with one bucket (2 litres )of water and for making curry but now it has become the worst water due to continuous usage of half HP and 1 HP motors the government has announced making desalination plants in islands.

    I would've thought that Namibia was doing this by themselves.
    Its probably why there are so many caucasians around.
    They most likely taught the native Africans how to recycle water.

    Nature is recycling water all the time. Filtration, biological breakdown, UV-Radiation, evaporation and other ways I'm not even thinking about. Recreate these things, to make it available for humanity without overwhelming nature by human needs. So far, a great job in namibia.

    Being able to control water...In the beginning of being able to control our waste people died because they built the sewage system right into the water reservoir they taped into. people started to become ill and died, and nobody knew why until an investigation happened and noticed more death around the wells but none at a pub. Nobody drinks water at the pub/bar and no deaths because beer 🍺 is purified and cooked ect. Beer is clean. Cheers in respect to those who died...
