I’m disappointed at how due people are. And it just seems to get worse as time goes. And teaching their children rude is ok. I would put up a barrier between the horse and guards so that people couldn’t get to paw at them.
I watch a lot of these videos and there is one thing that is pretty clear about the policy in the UK. There is too much tolerance with public behavior which is encouraging worse behavior. The authorities can have a gentle nudge against this problem now, or they will have to fight it violently in the future when it passes the tipping point. Some of the people in these videos deserve to go to jail for assault and disturbing the peace. I'm sure it's the same as in the US where the prosecutor or judge does not want to enforce the written laws and have their own brand of legislative power.
I don't think the tourist should be allowed to stand in front of the horse. It must be upsetting for the horse when there are loads of hands on his face.

Trained in the military only to be laughed at, ridiculed, disrespected and taken pictures of like animals in a zoo. Touching them or going too close should be illegal. You wouldn't go up to a modernly dressed solider and start petting their canines and horses. How is this any different? They should have guard dogs beside them.
I agree with most of the comments below, these are serving soldiers, not pinups. Today most people do not respect anyone let alone police and serving officers. They seem to think that these guards are just there for photo opportunities and will push in front of others, for their own right to have a photo taken. We need to bring back good manners, I do realise that most of these folk are not English speaking but perhaps we need to have the written word in many languages ie the horse may bite or kick up if you are too close. The other thing is that the tour guides must understand the history that is behind the Kings Guard. That is the first thing that has to happen, the guides must know and impart this to the folk that they are guiding.
Well, they think this is some version of Disneyland, don't they? And, quite frankly, you have to view everyone who appears in all these videos milling about and posing next to the guards and horses as immensely dimwitted and unworthy, really, of what is termed humankind.

Why don’t people aim their criticisms at the ones who are entirely to blame for the behaviour of the tourists? If the people at the top stopped allowing tourists to touch the horses then the police and guards would be able to enforce that rule. These idiots at the top need to watch what actually happens and how distressed the horses can actually get by all the touching that goes on and will keep going on until they change the rules.
The officers @ the top do see these videos. Plus the soldiers have CCTV so they can monitor the situation of ignorant disrespectful obnoxious selfish people. Maybe one day soon things will have to change @ horseguards parade. 😡

These videos don't vary much, I think we'll all looking for something spectacular to happen... so much trouble could easily be avoided just by keeping the tourists outside the gate permanently, but then that would interfere with commerce!
Perhaps it's time to not only limit numbers but also to put a chain in front of the horse and guard that can be removed when changing guard, and then out back again, and make it so that the tourists can't reach the horses. There was one video where a young woman slapped a horse 3 times across it's face and nothing was done about her.

I hate to keep running my mouth, but this is very disturbing to me. This is a working monarch and the public shouldn't have so much access. There are people from every corner of the world there, milling around. Our society has been tanking for a while now. I think taking God out of the equation, the breakdown of the family unit, and this 'anything goes' culture, has caused these past 2 generations to not be taught values, character, manners and morals. The whole thing is heartbreaking.
I think they should pro temps, use those red thick ropes that restrict access in open mansions and the like. Attach it to the railings, pass it behind the bollards each time the guard is to be changed. This until they re route visitors along side the buildings. Thus an area in front of the sentry posts, and across the gate could be closed to the public . The public should only be allowed to progress through horse guards, behind the painted line. This kind of restriction has happened in almost all tourist attractions in London…for instance , you used to be able to go into Westminster Abbey at any time, until the number visiting were found to be damaging the flooring, so they introduced charging as a limiting factor.
@kathrynhobbs8874 . Unfortunately any form of barrier , rope etc is not possible . They are on a public footpath in Whitehall under control of the Council not MOD , through the gates is MOD property with MOD police . Also a barrier is potentially dangerous for both horse and trooper if the horse became unsettled and ran forward. The bollards are there for safety reasons to restrict access by unauthorised vehicles to the courtyard in case of any suspected terrorism , the public are ushered behind the bollards for changing of the guards for their own safety .
My guess guards, police officers all getting tired of the disrespectful tourists and are starting step up and speak out

They all look so young. I suppose I was that young once. I was in WRAAC in the 1970's here in Western Australia 🇦🇺
They do don’t they. My uncle was a sergeant in WWII, he was only 24 when he was killed by a sniper in Italy. We went to visit his grave sometime ago and I was shocked to see that he was one of the oldest ones there. His particular War Graves Cemetery was full of Commonwealth soldiers who were on average about 19 years, it was so sad.

They need to restrict the numbers of tourists in the Courtyard for a start before one gets kicked by a Horse.
perhaps it might do some good if a horse or two decided to teach the tourists to respect them
I swear the horse looks at the camera , and checks , wow , so much brain in the horse xoxooxoxoxoxoxox LOVE IT xoxoxoxo
I would consider it an honor to stand by them, not a joke. What is wrong with these people
It's an indictment on modern society that is full of a lot of people who think the world revolves around them.
They can see the entry for the horse to the box, so can see the white line nearest the wall is the one to stand behind simple.
People treat them like it's a amusement park. It's just sickening
I do like it when some tourists acknowledge the King's guardsmen with a smile, nod or thank you. 🇦🇺😊♥️
that's what I'd do.
I always wonder why some don't stand over in the other area on the other side of the courtyard, there is a lined off area there. They complain they can't see, but over there you still get to see everything that happens. The look of bewilderment when told to move back several times over and over is just plain ignorance and wanting to be right up front, well stay there and you will get a very large black war horse right up close and personal as he stomps you into the ground.

Respect the guards and the horses give them their space
Tourists and us should remember these are hard working soldiers not cerimonal. Also we're on their territory its our duty to keep out of their way. Its a privilege they let us get that close cant see many other countries allowing photo opportunities with serving personnel. Keep up the good work lads and gals youre marvellous uk would be lost without you

It's become a circus now wish king Charles would get involved and let the guards stop doing this now it's a joke just close it down who the hell goes to do a job and puts up with this I wouldn't I get annoyed watching all the petting of the horses and those tourists are so rude no respect at all start selling tickets might as well it's Showtime now
It’s peak tourist season. Many people in London. Everywhere is very crowded. This time next month the majority of people from around the world will be back to work. Be patient! The military and police are very patient.
🤣🤣The King will do what a constitutional monarch is supposed to do. Nothing. It would be the business of the Army, the Metropolitan Police and Westminster City Council. They are not toy soldiers for him to do as he wishes with.
Well we all know what this is all about. ££££££ and tourism, and to hell with all the BLATANT disrespect towards our soldiers.
You would think that maybe King Charles or William could have a quiet word with the powers that be and ask them to pull their fingers out and do something about it. 🙈🙉🙊

The amount of tourists hands all pawing the poor horse has to be a bit more controlled I think.
later SIGND had "don't touch the horse", Not just the reins. 10/03/2024.
They are on duty both horse and Guard, if they charged a £1 Per photo taken, then donate it to the horses care and wellbeing, I bet there would hardly be any taken, leaving both Guard and Horse to do their job.
THAT SOUNDS GOOD BUT I THINK THEY JUST NEED TO PUT THE FENCE BACK UP SO NO ONE CAN PET THE HORSE 'S . THE PICTURES ARE OK JUST NO ON TOP OF THE HORSE AND GUARD ! THEY NEED TO LEARN TO TAKE THE PICTURE AND KEEP MOVING . NO HANGING AROUND TO GET OTHER PICTURES .
My question is. Why are these disrespectful and rude tourists allowed into a military building in the first place. These are working soldiers and horses. Take your camera's elsewhere.
That's been a limited public way to varying degrees for almost 400 years.
because the place and the guards are a tourist attraction perhaps.
@@georgebarnes8163 No they are not the horses and guards are on guard duty.❤

I’m disappointed at how due people are. And it just seems to get worse as time goes. And teaching their children rude is ok. I would put up a barrier between the horse and guards so that people couldn’t get to paw at them.
If all this upset for our soldiers and their horses is just to please tourists, then it's about time it was stopped.
Like trying to herd cats!
Rats
Cats are easier and don't talk back
These people are witnessing history and not smart enough to know how important this is
I don't think the tourist should be allowed to stand in front of the horse. It must be upsetting for the horse when there are loads of hands on his face.
Yes. A large amount all petting it might be a discomfort. They might have to take action.
The guards and horses are always aware of the very young people. ❤
The Kings Guards aren’t there for their entertainment, they’re doing their job!!!!! 🇦🇺🇬🇧🥂

that's a powerful, BIG war horse! Notice when the horse has had enough he butts them away with his head? These horses and guards are mauled during their one hour-long duty. the tourists are like a school bus ofchildren who actually do not know better. My hat is off to these Guards and their horses.

Oh my gosh! that is a beautiful horse!
It's stunning xxx
He seems to be very friendly
I wonder what the two women were complaining about
I don't know, but I can immagine that they let the horse know to stand still when they step down, because they don't control the reins at that moment.
These tourists think they are entitled to do whatever they like, when they like. This isn't a playground, these are real soldiers doing their job.
If this happened in their Country how would they feel??

I've been watching on UA-cam, I'm amazed and honestly disgusted at the behaviours of the public toward the Horsegaurds, what has happened to RESPECT in the World today.?? 😡
They are called guards of the monarch , but they are the ones who seem to need protection from the disrespectful tourists.
Only saw one person thank the guard, at least that person showed respect, guard hears but will never respond until you do something stupid.
I cant believe the disrespect the tourists have for one another. If someone else is taking a picture they just go a stand in front of them and crowd them out. Absolutely no respect.
I noticed that. While some rude tourist is taking up space and time, others can't get their precious photos. It's thoughtless.
It's about time they put a stop to this disrespect
Why don’t people aim their criticisms at the ones who are entirely to blame for the behaviour of the tourists? If the people at the top stopped allowing tourists to touch the horses then the police and guards would be able to enforce that rule. These idiots at the top need to watch what actually happens and how distressed the horses can actually get by all the touching that goes on and will keep going on until they change the rules.
That’s where everyone who complain need to direct their anger at
The officers @ the top do see these videos. Plus the soldiers have CCTV so they can monitor the situation of ignorant disrespectful obnoxious selfish people. Maybe one day soon things will have to change @ horseguards parade. 😡

Of course so many are DISRESPECTFUL, these tourists think its all part of the show at one big theme park... the King's Guard are put in harm's way and humiliated daily just to put on a show, and they even have a tacky souvenir concession there too!
These videos don't vary much, I think we'll all looking for something spectacular to happen... so much trouble could easily be avoided just by keeping the tourists outside the gate permanently, but then that would interfere with commerce!
Well done! High time too. King's Guards acted. What's going on there is beyond belief.
This horse is a member of the royal court and should be treated as such.
It's like herding cattle.
Perhaps it's time to not only limit numbers but also to put a chain in front of the horse and guard that can be removed when changing guard, and then out back again, and make it so that the tourists can't reach the horses. There was one video where a young woman slapped a horse 3 times across it's face and nothing was done about her.
Have you not seen any of the horses who bolt out of the boxes?

Each and every tourist posing with these guards, destroys the entire picture. I wish they would block off tourists from getting so close.
Аз, какие величественные королевские гвардейцы и ихние великолепные боевые кони❤❤❤👏👏👏👍👍👍🌹🌹🌹
More should have been done *LONG* before now to have nipped much of this in the bud....
So many people . I can't do that I would have a panic attack ! Way to many people !
