From the day I took delivery of my 2017 Santa Fe the only thing I did not like was the ride. It was very rough riding. I asked several forms and could not get a definitive answer. I was told by several people that the tires were the problem. They said the Kumho tires that the car came with were crap and the cause of the rough ride. Well, at 14,254 miles I bit the bullet and put on a set of Michelin Premium LTX 235/55/R19 tires. The difference in the rides was amazing! It is like night and day. While not a 10, the ride has to be somewhere around an 8 or so. I could not be happier and not sorry at all that I spent the money and switched. I hope this helps other owners in their quest for a smoother ride.
I drive a Mercedes C250 and I am changing to Santa Fe due to family expansions. The Korean car is so nicely built with solid structure and all the safety features that you would need from a car. The Merc has been giving me so many problems since day one. I do not think i will go back to another European car again.... Hyundai and Kia have improved a lot and they are slowly taking over old good brands.....
I just bought a blue santa fe about a week ago. Never owned a Hyundai and didn't really know what I was looking for. I just knew I wanted to buy something new that could seat 7. I'm very impressed with it so far. The motor is strong for a v6 and it gets good gas mileage. My kids like it too. They prefer it over our suburban regardless if the suburban has more room.
I own 2017 Santa Fee black color ,this Beautiful SUV it is better than any midsize SUV on the market, I like the warranty, (100k miles,or 10 years)safety features and of course the 3 rows seats, also 5 stars crash test this SUV it the best car ever
My 2018 Hyundai ultimate AWD has a 2.0 turbo and I paid out the door $35,000 with all the bells and whistles and its has plenty of power I had it up to 135 MPH and it was still climbing mine is quite different than the one you are driving even the front fog lights is in a different place and mine has leather, and I can feel a big differents in sport mode and its 2022 and I still have it
Great review! The Santa Fe seems like a pretty solid entry in its class. I can't wait for its redesign (hopefully coming for the 2019 or 2020 model year).
We lease and are on our 3rd Hyundai: Veracruz, Santa Fe, Santa Fe. Unless something dramatic develops in other brands in the next two years, it will be another Santa Fe for us.
I think some clarification on the brakes is in order. You mentioned brake fade and overheating. Were you deliberately over using the brakes it see what they can handle or was this moderate use? Or are they under rated for the weight of the vehicle? I do a lot of mountain driving and I downshift to maintain speed rather than using the brakes.
Great review. I own this exact vehicle and agree with everything. It is not a sport SUV, but does everything else very well for the money and features.
This is one of the best looking crossovers in its class.. Curious to see what the 2019 Santa Fe is gonna look like, since it's gonna adopt similar styling cues that the new Kona has (part of Hyundai's new crossover design language)
Tek z yea it's getting redesigned for 2019 and gonna take styling cues off of the new Kona (not sure if that's a good or bad thing) the Kona looks like the 2014-2018 Jeep Cherokee, so perhaps the 2019 Santa Fe is gonna look like a huge Cherokee too. There's spy shots circling around the internet
Baasil F., I'm curious to find out the changes that Hyundai will implement on the upcoming fully redesigned Santa Fe (especially in the styling department).
It most certainly is a bargain, and a good-looking one at that. With the way they depreciate year after year, You can get a STEAL on a used one. The only caveat is that you can't expect much when you try to sell it later on down the road. I would definitely get a used 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe SE AWD in Java Espresso in a heartbeat.
Have to admit that I agree with the reviewer's assessment of this Santa fe XL...I drove a 2017 model last summer for over 3000Kms (the 2017 I drove had the same exact trim and features as this 2018 so I can relate to the comments) and it is not a driver's CUV as it was mentioned by reviewer (not fun to drive). I have to give it to Hyundai though features-wise it ticked all the boxes with engine and trans smooth and powerful. The ride I found however to be firm, bumpy and choppy with a lot of body roll when cornering and the interior fit and finish was just cheap feeling with tons of cheap looking plastics and lots of rattles on the dash. ergonomically the shifter and center armrest/console too low and controls layout not very ideal. As an example the drive mode select button found on bottom lefthand side of dash instead of being near the shifter while the cruise control was a rocker switch instead of individual buttons or a flat switch. These are minor nuances though...for most part I totally agreed with the reviewer's comments.
also was contemplating the pilot. hands down went with this santa fe. I liked the bigger look of the pilot, but bland and boring on the interior..really bland. and worse if you get cloth, at least thee santa fe has premium cloth that is AMAZING! And also look way sharper driving down the road. going with Fe soon here.
If you intend to keep the vehicle after 5 years or paying it off....go with the Santa fe. If you intend to buy a new vehicle after pay off....go with the Pilot. The Santa fe's resell value won't even come close to the Pilot's resell value.
No Big Deal...stain and odor resistant cloth seats.I also have the same on my Outback and Escape, 2 cans of Scotch guard spray.................. total $15.00 at Walmart.
Hyundai is the third largest auto maker in the world now. South Korea is the king of technology these days, and they've really added it to their cars. Compared to the crap some of the American auto makers are putting out (GM & Chrysler), Hyundai is way ahead. Toyota and Honda are probably still tops, but Hyundai has made huge gains, and matches or outdoes them on technology.
venictos have you ever driven or even sat in a Hyundai because if you ever driven or sat in a Hyundai you'll actually like Badge snobs like you really need to shut up, I mean this isn't the 80s anymore and it is far more reliable than junk Honda, so you like the cat but the Hyundai badge offends you, dang you are such a spoiled brat Oh no are you crying because your scared of a Hyundai badge Uh oh mommy will just put junky Honda badge so your tantrum will stop

Ali Senejani Mercs and bmw the worst in reliability for sure.

Does it have 3rd row ac vents
@@daddycool980 3rd row has heating /cooling controls and vents. There's also a rear fan control on the dashboard

I was super impressed by diesel version of Santa fe. Fuel economy was really impressive. I am looking forward to 2.2L diesel 2019 Santa fe.
Great review! The Santa Fe seems like a pretty solid entry in its class. I can't wait for its redesign (hopefully coming for the 2019 or 2020 model year).
I'm looking forward to the redesign, which is coming out in 2019. It looks really nice, and the front end is very aggressive looking.
We lease and are on our 3rd Hyundai: Veracruz, Santa Fe, Santa Fe. Unless something dramatic develops in other brands in the next two years, it will be another Santa Fe for us.
Jhw Webster have a Veracruz still. Wish they would’ve kept it and refreshed it
I have the 2017 model and your review is spot on.
I want this to be my first car love the design.
I wish this was the guy waiting for me when I'm looking for tools at Home Depot.

I have the 2017 limited ultimate. The best!!
Do u still own it...what is your feedback
This is one of the best looking crossovers in its class.. Curious to see what the 2019 Santa Fe is gonna look like, since it's gonna adopt similar styling cues that the new Kona has (part of Hyundai's new crossover design language)
I disagree...CX9 looks better than this
Tek z I didn’t say it was the best looking crossover in its class, I said it’s one of the best looking ones.
Baasil F., it is not bad looking though I have to give it to Hyundai but it needs a redesign...they'll prob do that for 2019...

Looks really really good
pet and child came in same category. NOICE
Even since its birth in 2013 it destroys most looks in its class,is it worth it to get for $15k used??
Its not meant to be a Ferrari !!!!
LOL i just commented the sentiment before i read yours.

This or the Acura RDX? (I know it's only for 5 people)
👌👌 supperb colour yar nice loved it

Looks good
I am getting a new Santa fe xl 7 passenger. Any suggestions as to how I can haggle the sales guy
It would be nice to see the instrument panel.
اين مكان مطفأة الحريق في السيارة ؟؟؟
Made me think... Now I have to choose Pilot or Santa Fe...
eFasser Santa Fe
The Santa Fe is being redesigned for 2019 and the Pilot is more than likely getting refreshed for 2019, so maybe you wanna wait
also was contemplating the pilot. hands down went with this santa fe. eFasser if you haven't bought one already, please do consider the all new Subaru Ascent too
Nice car..
The reviewer was NOT a fan of this SUV lol
This car is much better from Mercedes GLS Class _ Bravo Hyundai
WTF is this guy trying to say ... it doesn't drive like a luxury 2 seat sports car ... DUH!
The Elephant Head Dash.

So, which reasonably priced 3 row midsize suv is exiting to drive?
Jaffar Abdul Baqi a, CX9?
What is the towing capability?
5000 lbs
Beats all domestics
No Big Deal...stain and odor resistant cloth seats.I also have the same on my Outback and Escape, 2 cans of Scotch guard spray.................. total $15.00 at Walmart.
hah...those cloth seats look way better than the new outback and escape and explorer cloth seats..
You forgot to mention the "WARRENTY MUST DO" $700.00 Timing Belt Replacement requirement that Hyundai springs on you at 60,000 miles. uuuugh.
The 3.3 V6 has a timing chain with no replacement interval.
Does anyone walking the earth really want a beige or gray interior??? Stop putting that crap in cars!
Ismail M. 👏👏👏 well said
What would you suggest
So true
Damn suvs are boring. All you canbrag about is safety on these things.
Tangy, pungent, stinky bungholio.
$41900 for one hyundai ????? No way
Yeah bmw and mercs are the least reliable money pit overpriced junk.
Raging bargain lol
Nice but still a Hyundai
Noob poor kid..
its 2018 not 2005 :)
