The finished card is Beautiful! Love the black. The black wasn't what lost the background, it was the sentiment. However, it works. I've learned, Art Tells Us what it really wants to be, We should Listen. 🤷🏻♀️ I'd love to see you do another card with that background. I'm guessing, Art will show you 52 different ways with it. 🤣🤣💜👏🏾👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you so much Sharna. I really really enjoyed watching you create this amazing and stunning and gorgeous altered playing card. It really think 🤔 that you’ve made the right decision adding the Black paint, it lifts those flowers and finishes the card off well. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
The stencil is beautiful, i loved how it was just after you put it down, that would absolutely make a beautiful and somewhat simple card. But your decision to add black really was the best. It definitely managed to "marry" all the elements on the card and I LOVE the result too. Well done!
I do like it better with the black acrylic paint. The flowers definitely pop and are more defined. Layering is part of the fun of doing mixed media. Totally agree with what you’ve said. Trying new things is how we learn and discover something we never would have thought of.
I do like the darker to make the flowers pop. As you said it all depends on the look you want to achieve and what we have in our mind doesn’t always work during the process. Thanks for sharing. Patti
This card is awesome! Love technique and black looks great! I always enjoy you sharing your process and showing us that making changes are part of process and to always have fun!! Thanks!!❤
Hi, I am also in Australia in Sydney! I love your card! I love how the black made the flowers pop. I also love that there is still a hint of the background still showing. That's what mixed media is all about. The layering creating hints of what's underneath enhancing the whole picture!
Hi, The black works wonderfully. Love it!! I also appreciated your talking about making mistakes and how it helps our growth. Needed to hear it. Thank you!
The black background really makes the flowers standout. I prefer it. The words are what became to loud. Maybe they should have been tinted a little. Turned out very nice.
Love all your cards, I have learned so much about, exploring, balance, experimenting etc. I rather like the black even though I am fearful of using black, but I see how it makes a big difference. Thank you. Natasha
I like the black - the background is still there on the right side of the card, though I'll probably change the sentiment by typing it on card stock with a small font. I appreciate you not being freaked out when a card ends up different from what you expected it to be - that's going with the flow in making art!
I thought the card looked complete and I did like the background and flowers chosen; yet I agree the black really changed everything and I loved the results. I'm glad you are about showing alternative methods if not satisfied. There are no mistakes and you did good. Thank you so much. Canada
Thank you for sharing the whole process even the things covered up. We try different techniques along the way. I prefer the finished card with the definition!
I like both ways, however the sentiment could have been knocked back a little. I’m a fan of black so I may be biased in liking the final piece. You’re a great teacher.
Love the 'learning together approach. I always look forward to seeing what awesome creations you put together. BTW - the finished card with the black background was striking!
Love your channel. I increasingly find that I am a minimalist. I would have stopped at 1:45, lol. But I really like how it turned out with the black, I definitely think it makes the flowers pop and I love it. My honest question: does there always have to be a (floral or animal) focal point or a window, and one or more words? Are there other ways of adding minimal interest for someone who prefers the simple version at 1:45? I would really love to see alternative, minimal ways of adding interest. Perhaps you could see this as a challenge?
I definitely like the outcome of your full deck challenge. I like the black it definitely made the flower pop. I also like when it was just slightly outlined because yes it did give you more of that background. However I think the outcome was a surprise for me and I definitely loved it. The white words I think were a little white on the background however I still loved it. I love love that stencil where did you get it? I love watching your videos I love learning from you and I have to say that you put out some of the best videos for the very beginner like me and the advanced person in my opinion thank you so much I am learning so much from now
So sorry but I must admit this is not my favorite as a stand alone card. Perhaps in a group or the whole deck it will fit in perfectly. I do appreciate you sharing this with us. I agree it’s very helpful for us to try something new and learn in the process.
I do like the black better. I've learned a lot from you. Do you ever get discouraged when something doesn't turn out the way you'd like, or you don't know what to do next? Sometimes I do, and I wonder what am I doing this for? For fun, of course. But it's not fun getting discouraged. I really have to fight the perfectionist in me...always have!
I usually just leave the project for a day or two or 3 and come back to it with new ways or if I really dislike it, cut it up for collage paper or make it into tags or something. Never be discouraged 💚❤️
Absolutely love the black acrylic paint. It made the flowers pop and that was the goal. Beautiful card.
The finished card is Beautiful!

Yes, the black made it really pop! Love the sentiment!
I like how you put the book page on a angel to start with.
The doilies addition makes it look so delicate.
just found your channel, and i have been watching you ever since. I can't get enough. thank you for all you do for your channel and your viewers.
I love the black. I just hated to see that beautiful background covered up. You can always make another. 👍🏼
I agree that it made the flowers popped when you added the black. It turned out so pretty!
The stencil is beautiful, i loved how it was just after you put it down, that would absolutely make a beautiful and somewhat simple card. But your decision to add black really was the best. It definitely managed to "marry" all the elements on the card and I LOVE the result too. Well done!
I love the message more than the card! Something i am learning to tell myself often as I experiment
Love the textured background, even before the poppies were added.
By far it looks better with the all black background. Great job.
We absolutely love what you've done with our ArtStacks papers Shana! You rock the colours!
I liked the first black introduced on the stenciled pattern...the acrylic black is ok, though.......😻
I loved the texture paste technique but yes the black is amazing !!
Beautiful.
I sighed in relief when you decided to go heavier with the black
I do like it better with the black acrylic paint. The flowers definitely pop and are more defined. Layering is part of the fun of doing mixed media. Totally agree with what you’ve said. Trying new things is how we learn and discover something we never would have thought of.

I love the black background. I think it makes it look beautiful.

I liked the darker. Neat idea.

❤
I think it's great either way, but I preferred seeing the background before you added the black.
I love ❤️ the art stakes package. It’s beautiful & I never heard of it before. Your finished card is gorgeous.
I think it needed the black, though I don't have a black phobia ;)
I thought the card looked complete and I did like the background and flowers chosen; yet I agree the black really changed everything and I loved the results. I'm glad you are about showing alternative methods if not satisfied. There are no mistakes and you did good. Thank you so much. Canada

I like the black. I didn’t think I would but it’s nice.

I love the end result. ❤ However, I think highlighting the sentiment would’ve worked, as well.
I love it! The black is great, very dramatic. ❤️ Shirley

Love your work. Tell me about your worksurface. It looks like newsprint. I really like it.

Beautiful 😍
I like them both! You are just the best...did you make videos for the rest of the cards in the deck or just the first 31? I am addicted!
All and then some 🤗 starting deck 3 in January 🩷
Cute!
Hello. I love the Artstacks used on this video. But I cannot find where to purchase them. Can you help? Love your work!
Here you go artstacks.com.au/shop/ scroll down to ‘CoreStacks’ 🤗💖
Hola.... very beautiful...
No links?
Hi, all the links are in the description box under the video. I have just doubled checked and they are all there and working :-)
@@ShanoukiArt thank you. I got the links. I don't know why they didn't show yesterday.
I think it looked to bizzy until you added the black
It's a beautiful card but I liked it before you added the black.
Love the black background
