Beauty, I'm looking at building my first race buggy. Torn between 2w or 4wd and what RC brand to choose. 2wd seems the most popular at the only track I know of in the Denver metro area, MHOR RC Raceway, and Team Associated or Losi seem to be the most used. Decisions, decisions. Also they have a outdoor turf track and an indoor clay track so another decision to make on how to setup.
2wd is the most popular, and the least expensive to own/maintain. 2wd is also a bit harder to drive and tune, but will make you a better driver. Stop by MHOR and see Chadd - tell him that Rich sent you! He'll get you set up with something great. Indoor clay will be a bit easier to learn on, as it's more forgiving on your car
Love your videos ! Can’t wait till the next one. When I’m discussing with my wife what to buy next in rc she says what does Rich say about it. You are the best ! Happy thanksgiving to you and your family
Wow if I was still into racing 1/10 4WD I’d buy that in a heart beat . I haven’t raced since 1995 I just have them for my Amusement I had a Kyosho Lazer zxii Tekin esc ? Parma 10 double motor brushed And 7.2v nicd saddle packs .Sanyo scrc 1800
The RCNetwork Yeah I’ve seen the Optima re realease I started off with a second hand Optima mid. I liked it, a lot of the people at the club were running Schumacher Pro Cats or Boss Cats . I liked the optima so I thought what He’ll?? I bought the Lazer Zxr mk2 Lovely buggy that was . These new ones look so cool, I’d want to put that one above in the Living room . I’d never use it looks too nice 😁
Wow! Just beautiful. Everything looks perfect. I wonder what the total cost works out to be. I'd love to be near a track that could make use of a setup like that but I don't know what I would do with it if I had it. Nowhere to drive it and nobody to compete with. Too bad.
@@TheRCNetwork Seriously considering this for our loose outdoor clay track compared to the other big names especially since we run on a bigger 1/8 scale track which is used 50% for 1/10 usually with the JC goosebumps tire. The big shocks, center diff sounds like a good option with the unique layout sounds like it could hook up really good. Currently run the older belt YZ-4
IMO, this will be a great outdoor car - it's basically a scaled down 1/8th scale - massive arms, 3 diffs - it just performs. Most 1/10th scale 4wd's are fragile, not this one
Nice .2 Rich! Came up a treat. Can’t wait to see your running footage, with a 5.5 turn I’m sure it’s going to be very quick! 😈 Hope you have a great Thanksgiving with friends and family. 👍🇦🇺
Hey! Glad to see you’re still making vids! Been out of the hobby for a while but getting back into it. Quick question, I remember you using Tekin electronics back then and noticed you’re not using them in this buggy. Have they taken a downhill in quality? Thanks! -Antonio
Hi, thanks again for your detailed build review and for this full reveal. quick question for you out of these 3 buggies which do you prefer this the new TLR 22X-4, the new x-ray 2020 spec. Thanks, Walter
I haven't run the 22X-4 yet - hopefully this week. I'd pass on the Xray though....I've never liked their marketing strategy of releasing a "new" buggy every year. The Tekno is a great buggy though....you can't go wrong with it, no matter what
The RCNetwork That’s a really good point that never crossed my mind they do come out with a new one every year so if I buy one now next year I’ll have an old car that’s no fun plus their parts are pretty expensive so I will take your advice thanks 🙏🏻
Would you recommend getting this hobbywing motor or the tekin spec R for my eb410.2 ? I decided to go with this hobbywing esc in this video. I just can't decide tekin or hobbywing esc.
Nope - the ET410.2 has the following: Truggy width arms, turnbuckles, driveshafts (about 2"wider than buggy) longer shocks, taller shock towers, taller wing mount, 32P gearing, etc. The ET410.2 also takes either stadium truck wheels/tires or SCT wheels/tires. Of course, there's the obvious body difference
They get trashed pretty quickly. Most racers, just time the wing and mount it after scuffing it with a scotchbright to make it more milky to be seen better on track
There's a few on the market - I like the Raw Speed one, myself: bit.ly/2KkQUM0 . But there's also the Exotek: bit.ly/2XQeFUc, The JC Body: bit.ly/3bjd2Ca And the Pro-Line: bit.ly/2VJckaF
Tekno is a grass roots brand that started off fixing traxxas cars and making electric conversions for buggies from Team Associated and others. They make great products supported by great people that run the company. They also have a 50% off replacement part warranty - no hassles. If something breaks or wears out, send them a line and they sell you that part at 50% off. No other company does that!
@@shelbyseelbach9568 yeah it does but who the hell wants to order shit? I want to go to my local hobby shop (cause thats what keeps them in business) and get the part and finish my race night or go home and play. You know what sucks going out to bash or race break a part then have to wait 1 to 6 weeks to order a danm part. Thats what sucks. Yes my nephews exceed terrain 10 took 6 weeks for hub carriers for his truck. His arrma the parts are back ordered. Big fan of your channel. This 410.2 series has been a huge help as I prepare to build my first Tekno. Great detail and great build tips. 👍
Thanks buddy! Glad to help - Tekno builds are great, easy to follow and the build quality is second to none!

It's all top tier stuff - it can be easily equipped for less though.
See you down at the track!
Scott Foy see you there! Probably 12-4ish. Wanna drive it?

Cooldibs hey Anthony! I still use Tekin in most of my 1/8th scale builds and some Rock Crawlers...but 1/10th scale racing, I like the HW stuff
Dang, sorry.....I saw Anthony.....My apologies, Antonio!
Nice set up! Subscribed.

Great video
Thanks CJ! Maybe a subscribe>?
Will that fit their 32 pitch spur gear from their truck ?
EB is all 48p where ET is all 32p
Would you recommend getting this hobbywing motor or the tekin spec R for my eb410.2 ? I decided to go with this hobbywing esc in this video. I just can't decide tekin or hobbywing esc.
The HW motor is pretty great....and so is the Tekin. If you already have the XR10, grab the V10 to match
Is the eb410.2 and et410.2 the same thing with different body’s ? Because I can’t notice any difference other then the body’s
I am thinking about getting one but I am not quite sure. Can you recommend it fully honest?
Honestly, yes. Best 1/10th scale buggy IMO. It's built like a tank and drives well.
Funny question did u do a video on UA-cam for uwell
nice guy34 nice guy34 yep, I’m their marketing director 😃
👍
Thanks buddy!
What size pinion did you put with the 5.5?
I'm running a 19t
i just bought the eb 48 2.0 and unfortunately for me it doesn't include front mount rear shocks :(((
I'm not sure the 1/8th scale needs front mounted rear shocks....
Would have been interesting to include nonetheless.
I want one.
They're available in the link in the description
Is there a reason not to paint the rear wing?
They get trashed pretty quickly. Most racers, just time the wing and mount it after scuffing it with a scotchbright to make it more milky to be seen better on track
Did you cut half of your wing off?
No, just trimmed the rear section
Any alternative body to recommend ?
There's a few on the market - I like the Raw Speed one, myself: bit.ly/2KkQUM0 . But there's also the Exotek: bit.ly/2XQeFUc, The JC Body: bit.ly/3bjd2Ca And the Pro-Line: bit.ly/2VJckaF
Why does no one paint the wing? Just wondering?
Typically you replace the wing a lot. Painting is just a waste
@@TheRCNetwork kind of what I figured.
Do you need a motor fan ?
Not for a mod motor
@@TheRCNetwork what about a 13.5?
@@mikefreetage6808 you’ll likely need a fan for 13.5......you’ll typically be pushing that motor harder being it’s a slower turn motor.
@@TheRCNetwork ok thank you. Love your buggy build videos!
