  • Today we will talk about Harry Gruyaert….
    Born in Belgium in 1941, Harry studied photography and film-making. He made a few films as director in 60`.
    In the end of 1970s he had travelled to the United States, India, Egypt, Japan and Morocco.
    In 1982, he joined Magnum Photos. His career is long and rich, He photographed for magazines, fashion brands, made movies, worked in illustration, among other important works, he produced many books as well, which are testimony of how Gruyaert likes to work in different environments, with contrasting lights and colours.

    Thanks Martin...color is HARD and the tip about composing differently when using color makes sense. Seeing Harry Gruyaert's color images was great.

      Thank you my friend, yes Harry's work is great example. I shoot colour and his work is so inspirational just so thought through.... His work make me feel even ashamed 😁

    What book would you recommend if I would only get one book about Harry Gryaert

      There is obviously many but to me for 100000% is India by him the best ...but probably it's personal preference ...other books had project sort of ...India is interesting for me because I love photos from there and colour world of India in his vision is just amazing ....but if you want more project oriented book then "last call" it's cool about the airports !!!
