- It was meant to be a landmark summit - a celebration of NATO and the alliance's success in helping to secure peace in Europe for 70 years.
But the meeting of world leaders ended in acrimony with Donald Trump calling the Canadian leader Justin Trudeau "two-faced", before cancelling a planned news conference and flying home.
The cause was a video that appeared to show Mr Trudeau gossiping about the US president with - among others - Boris Johnson.
The fallout from that - and another spat with the French President Emmanuel Macron - overshadowed talks that were supposed to tackle the most significant threats to security in Europe and the world.

Trudeau also needlessly invoked the Emergencies Act without consultation with the Premiers, seized assets of protestors including the bank accounts of ordinary citizens who supported the Freedom Convoy. Also, being the first Prime Minister to breach the ethics standards 3 times, it is clear he sees himself above the law and holds the Canadian political structure in contempt.
I've omitted commenting on Canada's 'free press', but there is so much to be said about the Federal funding of so-called, unbiased 'free press' in Canada.
Who is 'more' authoritarian between Trump, Trudeau or anyone else is irrelevant - the fact is, we have a PM in a liberal democracy who parades himself as the champion of liberty while exercising authoritarian practices domestically.

I house homeless people and now Island County wish to close my legal renting and to send me out from my property to live as homeless. #2 says “all residents of the three-bedrooms house on the Property to vacate the premises within 14 days. After 14 days any person remaining in the houses may be removed” In all previous orders, the house was exempt. #3 says: “Mr. Muresan may reside in a personal vehicle on the(his) property. Mr. Muresan shall not enter or reside in any recreational vehicle of any kind, or any building on the property” #5 says: “Island County may shut off power supply to the garage/carport building and any RV. After 14 days may shut of electricity to the house” # 6 says: "Island County may physically secure the garage, RVs and any other structures that have been used for human habitation”
