Ashleigh you really need to see the Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas Special! It's a short film/TV special, and now's the best time to see it (it's Christmas!), and you do kind of need to do before you see the final Guardians movie (Volume 3).
Here's a cameo list. Feel free to add any I didn't catch: Fake Stage Thor was another Hemsworth brother, Luke Hemsworth, Fake Stage Odin was Sam Neil, and Fake Stage Hela was Melissa Mccarthy. Also her husband was the director/guy moving the props around. One of Hemsworths, two of Natalie's, and two of Taika Waititi's kids were among the kidnapped children. Love is Hemsworths actual daughter, Kid Thor in the flashback is his son, and the wolf woman is his wife.
Fun fact: the screaming goats are actually from mythology. According to Norse legends, Thor had two goats that pulled his carriage, and every night he would kill them and eat their meat, only to bring them back to life in the morning. I'm pretty sure that's what Thor's line about "using them for meat... ing people" was referring to.
I'm pretty sure the eating it every evening is the boar Saehrimnir, separate from the goats. Thor having a Chariot driven by two goats is correct though, him riding the skies and hitting his hammer on the chariot is what causes the thunder. I guess the same thing of an ever replenishing meal may have transferred onto other animals in the norse mythology too...
@@davidbergfors6820 There is a story were they ate the goats and Thor brought them back in the morning, except one of them ended up being lame because a kid broke one of the bones to suck the marrow even though he was told not to.
Funny story, when the effects team were designing the creatures for the movie, they brought in a bunch of the child actors and the kids of the cast & crew and sat them all around tables and passed out paper and black crayons, and told them to draw the scariest shadow monsters they could think of. Just like previous one is pretty much a story told by Thor himself. Taika literally had to underscore this time that "this is a children's story about a hero" as many people don't understand that :)
The whole movie is a story told by Korg..l and that is the biggest reason I dislike this episode of Thor. Because a) I really don't care for Korg as a character, b) the jokes were stupid and overdone, c) giving the hammer and ax personalities and portraying them as living, independent entities was stupid, played for stupid jokes, d) I feel Korg narrating was just Taika's way of getting more screen time and voice-over pay. Fun fact: Because Natalie Portman is vegan, Chris Hemsworth didn't eat any meat the day the kiss scene was filmed. Natalie admitted that she wouldn't have cared if he did, but still appreciated how thoughtful he was.
Russell Crowe as Zeus was, I felt, not bad casting. They just didn't use him well. There's actually a deleted scene where he gives Thor a pep talk that was really good, shame it didn't make it in.
The Goats were part of Thor's myth back in antiquity. Tooth-Gnasher and Tooth-Grinder. They were how he got around before the comics because he couldn't fly on his own. Flying screaming giant goats. Sounds legit.
Fun fact: Christian Bale knew nothing about the Marvel universe and it was at the prompting of his son that he accepted the part. Kind of like it was Viggo Mortensen's son that convinced him to play Strider in the lord of the rings. Those two boys gave their dads good advice.
So, between Shang-Chi's mom, Ajak, Aunt May, Scarlet Witch, and Jane...Phase Four of the MCU has basically been "How many movies in a row can we kill off a major female character before we make Gail Simone finally snap?"
26:13 - She said Liam Hemsworth, but this is Chris Hemsworth. Liam is one of his brothers. Another one of his brothers, Luke Hemsworth, played the actor who played Thor in the play.
Ashleigh, just so you know, in the stories, Thor (not this one) has two goats that pull his flying chariot, and when he’s out exploring the Nine Realms, he’ll kill them, eat them, then place their bones under their hides, touch them with Mjölnír, and bring them back to life. This is what they’re alluding to here. 10:37
I honest to God did not think the flick was going to actually be in the movie I thought that was just a trailer thing😂😂. But when it happened and we saw the Thor booty my jaw dropped
Gorr the God Butcher is played by Christian Bale (Batman). The Necrosword is an artifact used by Knull the source of Symbiotes (Venom, Carnage, etc). 😮 Thor's new look is based on Thunderstike another individual with Thor like powers. 😂 Who is she? That's the Lady Sif (Jamie Alexander) Thor's remaining Asgardian friend. Eternity is a literal being in the Marvel Universe. Mentioned by Peter Quill (Star Lord) in The Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2. He is the living embodiment of Eternity. 😮 Russel Crowe was Zeus. 😂
Even though they couldn't show it due to licensing reasons, the Necrosword was made by Knull, god of the void & creator of the symbiotes (like Venom & Carnage). That's why Gorr's teeth are sharp and he's dripping black slime. The sword is slowly devolving him into a symbiote
26:10 Ashleigh, please tell me you know this is CHRIS and not LIAM, lol?!? Because when you’re thirsting over his pecs here you called him Liam, lol! 😮 Just checking to make sure you’re lusting over the correct Hemsworth brother, especially since at the beginning you basically wanted to marry Thor. 😂 Hopefully it’s just a little (or not so little, hehe ☺️) Freudian slip. Great reaction, so happy you enjoyed this one!!! 👍
And just FTR, yes, I saw at the end of the video where she corrects herself, I’m not a total idiot lol…I am just teasing…but I still think it’s hilarious she had them confused the whole time, lol. 😉
The fact that they brought Sam Neill from Jurassic Park as Odin, Matt Damon back again as Loki. Looks like the Multiverse had an answer. This received some mixed reviews, but to me, it was a fun ride. Two Marvel movie suggestions: The Punisher (2004) and Ghost Rider (2007).
Here's the thing. I didn't *hate* this movie. There was a lot to like about it. Christian Bale was great, there were some good laughs, visually excellent and so-on. It just felt like... how do I put this... It felt like the "ingredients" were out of balance. Everything for a good movie was there, there was just a little too much this, not enough of that, etc. This had everything it needed to be the best Thor movie, but it came out of the oven all lumpy and lopsided. It wouldn't have taken much to get it to where it needed to be. I think that's the real tragedy of it.
It's like a mismatch of three movies in one. I don't understand the idea behind making it that way? lol it's like three writers at war against one another trying to come up with a story. They probably should have been focusing the whole movie on Gor. The whole thing, he builds himself up, he amasses weapons and he make himself more and more powerful. And you see him kill one God after another. Then he gets to Thor. They fight a titanic fight. But then in a shocking moment, you have Thor actually renounce his Godhood and powers cause he is so afraid to die! It leads to the next movie where without a Thor, the hammer choose Jayne to be the successor.
The thing you gotta remember about this movie is that it's being told by Korg. It's his point of view as to what happened. So there are things that have been exaggerated. This is supposedly why the movie is just all out weird. The necrosword aka The All- Black within the comics was created by Knull, the king of the symbiotes. You know like Venom. Sadly there is no connection to Knull within the MCU but you can tell it still has the weird symbiote black stretchy tendril stuff.
I feel like this movie was supposed to have a turning point where it would get serious and Thor would stop joking around and recognise the seriousnous of the situation and that just never happened.
Love, Kate…Isaiah Bradley’s grandson from Falcon & The Winter Soldier, Scott Lang’s daughter Cassie, Skaar (teehee), Harley from Iron Man 3 & a cameo in Tony’s funeral from Endgame…almost like there could be a group of young…Avengers?
All of the Asgardians are low tier God's. The Olympians are mid-tier gods and celestials are high tier beings. Then there are being like eternity The watcher and death how are beyond god tier. Even alioth and the Phoenix Force are creatures beyond god tier. Anyone can use the power of Thor who is worthy of picking up the hammer but due to Thor's love enchantment it turned Jane into the mighty Thor to protect her. The only reason though was able to share his powers with through Zeus's lightning bolt that's why all of the kids had yellow lightning instead of blue Thor power's.
This one is a fun ride. For all people complain about these films being formulaic, you give them something unpredictable and it freaks them out. Great reaction as always!
Ashleigh couple of things; you are absolutely the audience this kind of movie was made for. I enjoyed watching you enjoy this so much more than i enjoyed it myself. For me this movie is a mess of so many things wrong but has so many pockets of either good or potential good it just makes me wish so much that someone else had directed this one. Two, with the way you oggled over Chris Hemsworth body and desire to be intimate with i hope you took the time to idolize hubban or he might think of himself as undesirable in comparison and easily replaced. Those kinds of repeated seeds can hurt a man's self worth and desirability in a spouses eyes. Finally, i agree that you should Christmas G of the Galaxy as part of your francise Friday.
I wasn't really in love with this movie first time I saw it. But at second and third viewings I knew what I was getting into, and could appreciate what it's trying to do. Movies generally work better when you accept them for what they are.
Dare you to try Disney's Fox and the Hound. Not that I'd be able to watch it. So few do that one. But ugh. Saddest childhood theater trip ever. Seeing your homeward bound one pop up made me think of it.
Hey Ashleigh, first time commenter (I have literally never commented before) and longtime viewer here; firstly, thanks for giving this flick a chance as the movie was not too warmly welcomed due to its abundant jokes + simplified adaptation of the original comic-based story. But, u were able to look past that while accepting and enjoying the film for what it is and that is a special feeling; liking something that is not as popular. I think I understand where different audiences come from. Second, I know Patreon is used for suggesting flicks yet I have never been on it but, I suggest trying the MCU defenders shows though it would take a while; be sure to look up its watch order if interested. Sorry about the wall of text, thanks for the reactions so far + reading this if ya did; jingle beans all the way❕
My favorite scene in this movie is when Mjolnir pulls up to Jane like, “We doing this or what?” Is _Thor: Love and Thunder_ my favorite MCU movie? No. Do I really enjoy it? Yes. It has all the elements it needs to be great but got hit a little too hard by Taika Waititi's constant rewrites that strained the CG team to the point of breaking, so they had to discard entire scenes that couldn't be finished in time. Christian Bale is *amazing* as Gorr and it's sad that we didn't get more of him. Allegedly, this was because he was so creepy that it threatened to push the rating up.
Ashleigh this is one of the few movies I've seen after the end games. I thought was pretty good I like the whole cameos in it. And I love how Ashley goes who is Russell Crowe and she says that as she sees the end credit there with Russell Crowe as Zeus.
4:19 - This line from Ashley is absolutely, perfectly, and unintentionally ironic. It's art, truly! (I'll have to watch the rest of the video to see if the reason why becomes obvious to her)
According to the comics, every time Jane turned into Thor, it undid the little beneficial effects the chemotherapy was having, accelerating the cancer's progress. According to Norse mythology, the goats were Thor's primary means of travel, so their use in the movie is accurate to the mythology more than comic lore. And it never occurred to me that Kronan's are the same as Moclans in The Orville, being a predominantly single sex species. lastly, the goats crashing into the planet because perspective was messed up nearly ranks as high as Bruce going splat on the Bifrost in Ragnarok for pure, unexpected physical comedy. :D
Really two movies in one. Christian Bale and Gorr should have been used in a more drama style movie imo as his scenes don't really fit with the comedy of the rest.
Ok, so now all that's left in the not official MCU but still Marvel based comics are: Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer Fantastic Four (2015) - to be up to date for when MCU does it's own fantastic four Hulk (2003) Elektra (2005) Ghost Rider Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance X-Men Origins: The Wolverine Dark Phoenix Deadpool and Wolverine Morbius The New Mutants The Punisher Punisher: War Zone Howard the Duck Madam Web Kraven The Hunter (once it's available) Now that Kraven has been released that's 16 movies. Then in the MCU tv series that clarify a few things in the movies we have: Loki (season 2) What If......? (season 2) Ms Marvel Hawkeye Moon Knight She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Secret Invasion Agatha All Along That's just 8 shows and I don't think they're much longer than 10 episodes each at the most And now with the official MCU movies there's currently only 4 left at the moment (since trailers for Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts have just been released - why can't people just let Bucky retire? He'd finally found some peace in Wakanda as the White Wolf but people had to come in a ruin it) Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 The Marvels Are there any other specials we should see apart from the Guardians of the Galaxy's Christmas special? Does anyone know which TV series is coming out next? How far do you think we'll be able to get on all three lists before one of the new movies come out?
So... Love is played by India Rose Hemsworth Chris' daughter. Also, at the end of Thor: The Dark World Elsa Pataky, Chris' wife stood in for Natale for the kiss at the end of the movie, because Natalie had another engagement.
There was potential here. Gorr was a decent villain, but the script let him down further into the movie. Natalie Portman's Thor was unnecessary, and the rest of the cast felt tired and not really in it.
Yeah, this movie gets a lot of stick for... reasons, but it just does it for me. Cheesiness has its own appeal and its actual message is very positive, that's enough for me.

It’s not Liam as the theatre Thor. It’s their older brother Luke.
It’s ok, seems no one can get the Hemsworth brothers’ identities correct today, lol! 😂
Fun fact: Because Natalie Portman is vegan, Chris Hemsworth didn't eat any meat the day the kiss scene was filmed. Natalie admitted that she wouldn't have cared if he did, but still appreciated how thoughtful he was.
We got the director's cut right out of the gate, now we need to petition them to "Release the theatrical cut!"
The screaming goats will never not be funny for me. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sif is the last surviving member of Thor's original group of friends.
Valkyrie rode the pegasus mount in Thor: Ragnarok.
26:10 PISH! For shame, Ashleigh... That's the wrong brother!
Ashleigh: We get AC/DC in this?
Me: I love Led Zeppelin!
🤣
🤣🤣
She caught herself in the credits.
Gorr's daughter was played by Chris Hemsworth's real-life daughter.
Russell Crowe played Zeus
Ashleigh, just so you know, in the stories, Thor (not this one) has two goats that pull his flying chariot, and when he’s out exploring the Nine Realms, he’ll kill them, eat them, then place their bones under their hides, touch them with Mjölnír, and bring them back to life. This is what they’re alluding to here. 10:37
"Were you in Color Guard?"😂😂
I honest to God did not think the flick was going to actually be in the movie I thought that was just a trailer thing😂😂. But when it happened and we saw the Thor booty my jaw dropped
I know a lot of people hate this movie, but this is my favorite Thor movie. And I absolutely love the goats 😂
You have to see loki season 2 it is greatest Marvel show.
Gorr the God Butcher is played by Christian Bale (Batman). The Necrosword is an artifact used by Knull the source of Symbiotes (Venom, Carnage, etc). 😮
Thor's new look is based on Thunderstike another individual with Thor like powers. 😂
Who is she? That's the Lady Sif (Jamie Alexander) Thor's remaining Asgardian friend.
Eternity is a literal being in the Marvel Universe. Mentioned by Peter Quill (Star Lord) in The Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2. He is the living embodiment of Eternity. 😮
Russel Crowe was Zeus. 😂
Even though they couldn't show it due to licensing reasons, the Necrosword was made by Knull, god of the void & creator of the symbiotes (like Venom & Carnage). That's why Gorr's teeth are sharp and he's dripping black slime. The sword is slowly devolving him into a symbiote
When Gorr’s daughter is brought back to life, she gain’s Eternity’s powers. She essentially is Eternity now.
Your insights and humor added so much to the movie. Your content is truly appreciated. Thank you for sharing, Ashleigh! 🧡
Did I just hear that you've not seen Interstellar?????? Must watch!!!!!
So happy to get more MCU stuff btw, liking all the vids in thanks!
Jane Fonda and John Kerry are why so many veterans got spit on comming back from Vietnam in the late 60s and early 70s
Fun fact the reason thor says its been eight years while jane says three is because of the snap
My parent's favorite Marvel movie and my favorite Thor movie, love the goats.
You know why i love this standard intro so much ? Because i never check the title or the thumbnail, i just see "Ashleigh Burton" and I click.
24:30 A courgette is a zucchini Ashleigh. I think you know what body part Korg was referring to.
Melissa McCarthy in The Happytime Murders would make Ashleigh very happy. It's like a Muppet movie for adults.
I feel like this movie was supposed to have a turning point where it would get serious and Thor would stop joking around and recognise the seriousnous of the situation and that just never happened.
Well, remember, this is also a story being retold by Korg, who is a very silly man. And he's telling it to children.
I'm sorry that child peril, stage four cancer, and the potential annihilation of all gods everywhere aren't serious enough for you 🤷♂️
Love, Kate…Isaiah Bradley’s grandson from Falcon & The Winter Soldier, Scott Lang’s daughter Cassie, Skaar (teehee), Harley from Iron Man 3 & a cameo in Tony’s funeral from Endgame…almost like there could be a group of young…Avengers?
10:20 I didn't mind the goats. They remind me of Prepotente from Dungeon Crawler Carl.
How is it possible to simultaneously give off school teacher and super freak vibes at the same time? Lol! Great reaction.
24:30 lmao, oh god this is gonna be good. A courgette is another word for a zucchini.😅😅
"And the whole multiverse thing has just been miss after miss"
- Wade Wilson
11:13 that's Lady Sif from the first Thor movie.
This one is a fun ride. For all people complain about these films being formulaic, you give them something unpredictable and it freaks them out. Great reaction as always!
I hate this reasoning, you're just giving yourself an easy out for liking it. It's dismissive of the actual criticism.
Thanks, Ashleigh! 🌩
42:36…Dwayne the rock (Johnson)🤣
Yeah. Took me half the movie for the fact that that's Cristian Bale to click. He really prepared for the role.
The Odin play actor was Sam Neill who was the captain in Event Horizon
Sorry about the wall of text, thanks for the reactions so far + reading this if ya did; jingle beans all the way❕
My favorite scene in this movie is when Mjolnir pulls up to Jane like, “We doing this or what?”
Is _Thor: Love and Thunder_ my favorite MCU movie?
(I'll have to watch the rest of the video to see if the reason why becomes obvious to her)
One of the gods in the city was Bast! The Panther God that Wakanda worships!
24:34 Courgette is the french word for zucchini.
Really two movies in one.
Christian Bale and Gorr should have been used in a more drama style movie imo as his scenes don't really fit with the comedy of the rest.
Ok, so now all that's left in the not official MCU but still Marvel based comics are:
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Fantastic Four (2015) - to be up to date for when MCU does it's own fantastic four
Hulk (2003)
Elektra (2005)
Ghost Rider
Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance
X-Men Origins: The Wolverine
Dark Phoenix
Deadpool and Wolverine
Morbius
The New Mutants
The Punisher
Punisher: War Zone
Howard the Duck
Madam Web
Kraven The Hunter (once it's available)
Now that Kraven has been released that's 16 movies.
Then in the MCU tv series that clarify a few things in the movies we have:
Loki (season 2)
What If......? (season 2)
Ms Marvel
Hawkeye
Moon Knight
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law
Secret Invasion
Agatha All Along
That's just 8 shows and I don't think they're much longer than 10 episodes each at the most
And now with the official MCU movies there's currently only 4 left at the moment (since trailers for Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts have just been released - why can't people just let Bucky retire? He'd finally found some peace in Wakanda as the White Wolf but people had to come in a ruin it)
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
The Marvels
Are there any other specials we should see apart from the Guardians of the Galaxy's Christmas special? Does anyone know which TV series is coming out next?
How far do you think we'll be able to get on all three lists before one of the new movies come out?
So... Love is played by India Rose Hemsworth Chris' daughter. Also, at the end of Thor: The Dark World Elsa Pataky, Chris' wife stood in for Natale for the kiss at the end of the movie, because Natalie had another engagement.
Ashleigh, I was totally expecting a comment about the Phantom of The Opera shirt. 😉
Russell Crowe played Zeus...best known for "Gladiator," "A Beautiful Mind"(Best Picture Oscar) & " Les Miserables" though my favorite version is the Dream Cast in concert (10th anniversary).
Hi Ashleigh hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤️
