Macrame Christmas Ornament | Easy Tutorial for Beginners

- This macrame project is one I've been having a lot of fun working on lately - I've made so many ornaments I've covered my entire Christmas tree with them! This project is do-able even if you are a complete beginner at macrame, and they also make great Christmas gifts!
The cord I'm using is from a shop on Etsy called RockMountain Co, I used their single strand 3 mm macrame cord.

I purchased my cinnamon sticks from Amazon in bulk since I knew I wanted to make a lot of ornaments, but the same shop offers a smaller bag as well.

This is the board I used to help make the project - it's not technically a necessity but it makes small macrame projects like these SO much easier!

Never thought I would see the day where Macrame would make a come back!! I did it in highschool in the 80's and now my daughter does it.
'80's! Wow. I did it in high school in the late '60's, too! Guess it never really goes out. I love it!

Have been doing macrame off and on for about 35 yrs. I'm currently in an "on" phase. 😊 I've done many different crafts, but macrame can create such beautiful things in a very short time. 😁

These would be cute also combined in a seed covered pinecone and dried orange garland for the birds. Or just in a garland without seeds inside! They’re so cute!

This is just fab! You can also thread pieces of dried oranges or other fragrant fruit and it can be used as a sweet smelling mobile to hang by windows and doorways.

You could very easily use a darning needle to thread the string through the cinnamon stick if they are hollow enough. Just a suggestion.
