Pipe Pile Reinforced Mat Foundations and Pedestals Project

McGrath & Associates has completed a pipe pile reinforced mat foundations with pedestals project for a utility company in St. Charles, Missouri. This project consisted of (10) drilled pier foundations from 9' to 10' in diameter and ranging from 40' to 57' deep. Along with the drilled pier foundations, the project consisted of (4) pipe pile driven foundations with mat foundations and pedestals. Each mat foundation is supported with 19 pilings driven 75' to bedrock and filled with concrete. The mat foundations required 180 CY of concrete each and had an 8' diameter by 11' tall projection. One of the major challenges was access. The site required almost 2 miles of matting to get material and equipment from the main road back to the site.
