To be fair Pat always looked out for Janine even though she thought she was a horrible humen being but they had a close relationship and they are both amazing actresses R.I.P Pat

Pat didn't think janine was horrible. Not really, she knew why she acted the way she did. And that's why janine ended up loving her in the end

Roy was a far better husband to Pat than Frank and anyone else.

True but imo these new writers didn't understand janine as a character so they forced her into this villain role without motive however that's not the case with janine she's always been vindictive but there's times where she's really trued to be good yet is lost

It was such a shame that Pat was so utterly wrong…
But realistic. People rarely change. And if they do it's because they truly want to. Not because someone else wants them to. Janine was neglected as a child. She turned out to be a narcissist and she married a narcissist too! They can't change. They can develop self-awareness but it's called a personality disorder for a reason. It's woven into who they are. It is part of them.
