    I have these speakers and headphones dont work with them. I connected speakers via usb port to PC and I plugged in headphones through the aux port in the back of the subwoofer and doesnt work. I selected from the puck white light and sound plays through speakers but when I select purple light , no sound comes from headphones. There’s no other input device to select on my pc either,.I am at a loss. If anyone knows the solution I would be grateful.

      Thank you so much for the kind words, it helps me out quite a bit. Yes there is a slight delay in volume adjustment that I've noticed when on USB mode vs Auxiliary. My only reason I can think of is that where the AUX and Bluetooth mode communicate with the device directly, when using USB mode it seems to me the dial is communicating with the subwoofer, then the sub to the USB connection, so that's where i think the slight latency in audio volume would be coming from. Hopefully that helps to answer your question even a little and thank you again for watching!

    • @spaceytropics
      @spaceytropics 3 роки тому

      Thank you for watching! So with a smart switch, although a pretty cool idea for a replacement On/OFF switch, the "Turn On" chime will come on every time the speaker turns on and if it is going in a bedroom then it could possibly wake someone up when turned on for a late night tv session since the chime is pretty loud for a turn on chime. However if you do feel that might not be an issue then I feel that's a pretty good upgrade from the TV speakers. As long as the bedroom is not pretty large it'll do great. Bass is pretty punchy and the vocals can reach a decent range on the high end. It probably won't compare to an actual higher end system but it should get the job done if it's for the occasional movie/tv show. Plus for a bedroom i can see the multi-use case where if your tv has an AUX port then connect the tv via that and leave the bluetooth for any other device you want to connect and you can switch between the two without any hassle. Hope this helps you out even a little!

      @blackbullet06 3 роки тому +1

      Same thing man! The THX sound label is what's grabbing my attention but if your setting up on a tv and sit back, every time you want to adjust volume you have to get up. Where's as this has a bluetooth volume/bass control. I have the Z533 and it sounds good but I feel missing some mid range while gaming. Like sound effects are great but background music isn't as loud as I'd like. Lol sorry just my 2 cents I kinda rambled

    • @spaceytropics
      @spaceytropics 3 роки тому +2

      Thank you for the kind words firstly! Yes i do have the 623's. It would really depend on the setup of where it's going and if you really want all that power since the z407 is 80watts peak 40RMS vs the z623 at 400peak and 200RMS. The z407 is more of an intimate type speaker and by that i mean it's better suited for small rooms/computer desk setups. You can definitely use it in a small/medium sized bedroom as well and it should be more than enough especially with the convenience of the control dial. But if power is your game and you want to watch movies and do heavy gaming then the 623's is where its at for sure. But as @blackbullet06 said that i agree with, there are some caveats to the 623 especially when it comes to tv setups since you'll have to raise the volume there and on the speaker. I have a slight work around if your interested but other than that this is pretty much the option here: (convenience, great sound, great price) z407 or (powerhouse sound, decent price compared to the competition and would require slight physical work when adjusting things) Z623. Hopefully this helps out even a little and thank you again for watching!

    • @spaceytropics
      @spaceytropics 3 роки тому

      @@blackbullet06 Lol glad you asked. So you may know about it already or not but there is a separate Bluetooth audio adapter that Logitech sells on amazon for about $30 specifically for like the Z506/Z623/Z906 etc. Plugs in via auxiliary in the back of the module and then into the speaker. Work around would be to leave the volume and bass knob at midpoint on the speaker and then hook up your Tv's Bluetooth to the module and that should work since raising your volume on the tv should now somewhat correspond with the module then to the speaker. There is also a different module by a company called esinkin which is going for 22.95 and that has auxiliary and RCA connections so you get more than one output. It's still only a slight work around as stated though but in theory it should work since most newer tv's nowadays come with Bluetooth.

    • @spaceytropics
      @spaceytropics 3 роки тому +1

      Hi there, thanks for watching firstly. Now i assume by controller you mean the dial. I believe it might actually be neither of the two. If I'm correct I believe that the dial has its own separate connection to the speaker and not using the Bluetooth the speaker has otherwise it probably won't be able to connect to other devices like your phone and such properly. The dial still talks to the speaker even when you have the speaker connected to a computer via USB. Hopefully this helps answer your question.

    • @spaceytropics
      @spaceytropics 3 роки тому

      Unfortunately I do not believe there is such app. Based on the small tutorial videos Logitech put up, I don't see any real way to turn this system off unless unplugging it which is really weird. It should go into a standby mode once no Bluetooth signal travels to it which means you would have to disconnect your device each time or just use the small hack of changing the source on the dial like I did. It's weird though, Logitech on their little warning sheet that comes with the paperwork says to "not leave this plugged in for extended periods of time without use" but doesn't give an exact number of what "extended periods of time" may be. It's the one quirk this speaker faces that drives mostly everyone nuts about it.

    hey man.. i'm trying to decide between this and bose companion 2 series 3.. which do u think is bettet?

    • @spaceytropics
      @spaceytropics 3 роки тому +1

      Firstly thank you for watching the video! Now, there are quite some factors when comparing these two but I'll try to stick to the key ones. First Space, if you're trying to save as much space as possible on your computer desk then the Bose is the way to go which leads me to #2, if you're not buying speakers for just a computer setup but rather it's going to be used for computer, tv and gaming then the Z407 is the only way to go with its included subwoofer. 3rd power; the Z407 has 80watts peak power, which means 40watts RMS (20 to the sub and 10 to each satellite speaker) while the Bose I've seen some forums say it's around 22watts peak so 11watts RMS which is 5.5watts per speaker or so. People will tell you Watts don't make the speaker which is true there's much more to it than watts, but watts equates to loudness and if you want a louder speaker then the Z407 wins again. Finally Price, the Z407 is $80 and the Bose is $100 which means you're getting more for less. Just be warned though, the only down side to the Z407 is the lack of an on/off switch. It's either it stays on and plugged in or you unplug it and trust me you'd want to unplug it especially if you're using Bluetooth because every sound your phone makes all the way down to the click sound on your keyboard is translated to the speaker. I thought of a work around for it but that's honestly not a permanent fix. Hopefully this was helpful for you and thanks again for watching.

    • @spaceytropics
      @spaceytropics 3 роки тому

      Best bang for the buck that I've been using for the past 7years up till now is what I can recommend and that is the Logitech Z623s. 400watts peak power (200 Watts RMS) and THX quality audio. Only problem is this too is pretty old in Logitech's arsenal however it's been a power house for me for years now. It just has a basic RCA plugs in the back and an AUX port. If you want, Logitech also sells a 20-30 Bluetooth adapter that connects to the RCA connections in the back and that'll turn the speaker into a Bluetooth speaker also. Amazon has it for $120 which is a great deal for it. Or if you want a little more updated version get the Z625, its the same as the 623's but it has an optical output just in case your TV or Computer's sound card supports optical out. Amazon should have that for $150 exact last time I checked.

    so should i buy the z533 or the z407?

    • @spaceytropics
      @spaceytropics 3 роки тому

      Hi there, thanks for watching. Depends on what you're looking for specifically. With the Z533's 120Watt peak power being more powerful than the Z407 with its 80watt peak power one would think this is a no competition the Z533 win hands down but not really. Z533 has been in Logitech's speaker arsenal for quite some time now and although still pretty good sounding, it's still filled with outdated tech. Even the included dial for the z533 is attached to the subwoofer. The Z407 on the other hand, although lower in peak power gives you more for the money. You get a new form factor, Bluetooth 5.0, revamped internals, a wireless dial and even functionality to hook up the speaker via a micro-usb cable to your computer. On top of that the z533 is $100 while the Z407 is $80. The only down fall to the 407 that i will always bring up is that there is no OFF button, you have to physically unplug it when you don't want to use it for a long time. However if the new internals don't matter and you want the louder speaker of the 2 then the Z533 is the way to go. You could also look at the Z537, it's the same as the 533's but it has Bluetooth 4.2 I believe and costs around $120. Hope this helps!
