Good video. I just purchased the same bag and the extras because I want to take my green cheek pineapple on little bicycle trail rides in the neighborhood and to some nearby parks where he can fly around. Bag was very expensive but it'll be worth it instead of leaving him home. Almost bought one off Amazon, but those have a tendency to smell and off gas in hot conditions. I just wasn't going to risk my bird breathing in fumes.
My Rainbow Lorikeet has a Pak-o-Bird and he loves it. I have had it for about 5 years now. Two things you didn't mention are that it can be used as a front pack and that the mesh will allow natural sunlight in. Sunlight on a bird's feathers is important. Also using as a front pack allows the bird to see where he is going, I always use as a front pack.
Great review, beautiful birds. I found this backpack a few weeks ago when researching macaw carriers. This does it all & will prevent people from trying to pat my girl, plus it is easier & lighter than most carriers available in Australia. Your review pushed me to the "pay now" for one & I'm so excited, but expect a long wait. These are investment products for feathered family members. Quality & enrichment. Thank you for sharing this & caring so much for your family 😍
I'm so glad this helped! I had the same process where I researched the bag but mulled over whether or not it was worth the price tag, and I imagine it's even more difficult when you're ordering from outside of the US. Hope you and your macaw enjoy the adventures you'll have together.
Hi, I love your birds! Very nice and actually informative video, the company should seriously considering paying you. You covered all of the things people need to know! I have been waiting 2 weeks to hear back from them (still waiting) and you have answered most of my questions for them. I have also seen some of your roadtrip videos and its so cool you could take your fluffs with you on the adventure. Also informative for me since I've never been more than 50km past canada border into the US so it was nice to see some of the countryside too. I will be getting a greencheek and I am considering travelling to Europe (where I am from) with it for about a month give or take. How are they doing in the small one for longer periods of time? I would be with family so it would get out, but most of them are not keen on having a bird flying around so it might have to stay inside for a couple of days at a time. I was leaning towards the medium size, but if the small one is pushing it for the allowed plane bag size I doubt the medium would do for the flight. Also do you need anything special to take a bird on a plane?
Thank you, Marketa! That's so sweet. Honestly would be down if Celltei wanted to sponsor me haha I really love their products. So well designed but definitely pricey (probably small market since birds aren't super commonplace pets). So I generally just bring my birds in the backpack, but when I get to the destination, I do let them free roam. In your situation, I know Celltei actually sells a portable aviary but that is definitely a much larger commitment size and travel-wise. Maybe you could hang out with them inside a closed room or bathroom when you're at the family's house for a bit? In terms of flight, just make sure to provide water and snacks! I usually like to bring watery fruits like citrus or grapes so they have something to munch on that also keeps them hydrated on the flight.
Thanks for the very informative review. I ordered this bag pack (medium wide) for my pair of bonded conures (Sun and Dusky) and it should be arriving here in Singapore tomorrow.
This would be so awesome to take them out on hikes and camping trips!😍 I'm an outdoorsy person and would love something like this to bring my birds with me without having to pack a cage around or just leaving them home.
I have some airplane travel questions I hope you will be able to answer. Do you have to make any type of arrangements with the airlines so you can fly with them? Is there any paperwork you have to fill out? Is there any fees? What do you do at the checkpoint? Have you done any flights outside the country with them? Do you have to carry any type of prove that they are your birds? Sorry for all the questions, I have never traveled with a pet and have been wanting to take my conure when I go far without any issues.
Hello! Yes I totally understand how it can be so stressful to travel with pets for the first time. Do you have to make any type of arrangements with the airlines so you can fly with them? Is there any paperwork you have to fill out? Is there any fees? Yes, you usually have to contact them ahead of time and pay the pet fee, much like flying with a dog or cat in the cabin. They go under the seat in front of you. What do you do at the checkpoint? Ask for a private room screening. You had the carrier to the agent, you go through the metal detector, they will take you to a room where you take your conures out of the carrier, and the agent will run the carrier through the machine. Then they come back and you put your conures back in. So you have to be comfortable taking them out in the room at the airport! Have you done any flights outside the country with them? I have not. Do you have to carry any type of prove that they are your birds? You need vet paperwork, all the info can be found based on whatever airline you are flying. Hope this helps :)
Is there anything you would change at this backpack? After testing it for a long time? I'm thinking about making myself a bird carrier for my 2 cockatiels, and I want to use a less dense mesh, more like an aviary style net. Thank you for the review!
I actually prefer the dense mesh since it provides the birds more privacy. When I've used different models that use aviary netting or are see through, my conures seemed to be more nervous/felt unsafe and too out in the open. The mesh is also very sturdy and different for the birds to chew through.
Hi, great, ive been looking for this exact one, kept spelling it wrong, so where did you order it from i need this one for my green cheek conure! Thanx ill listen again but i don't know if u said where to purchase one.🙏♥️♥️👍👍
Per the customer service rep's recommendation, they gave me a 0.65" perch! I selected my bird type during checkout and on the invoice they tell you which perch they include based on the size of your bird. Glad you found this video helpful, Gabriela!
@@amandapandachu oh okay, I picked the 50 inch one, but I made comment kind of bird I have so hopefully is okay. I ordered it yesterday! I e-mailed them a few days ago asking them, but never answered. I can always add a different perch if I feel my budgies are not happy.
Which airline did you fly with? This is a great video. Im trying to decide between the small and medium size. My bird is your birds’ size. Thanks for the video!
Really well! My birds loves looking at the scenery outside when we go on walks. And the best part is that they can see through the mesh while still getting a lot of privacy (often times it takes a while before people realize I have birds in there 😂)
Yes! My birds are always looking around when I take them out. What's nice about the mesh is that they can see, but other people can't see them. So they get some privacy.
I'm clearly bias though, I love this bag because of how much Callie and Gizmo love it! Actually just flew cross-country with them in their bag a few days ago.
Can u put a link to buy this travelling bag pleasee I am looking for a good one and after seeing this video I found the best one , can u reply with the link to get this bag please Thanks .
Don’t fear! Amazon has a great return policy 😉 haha just kidding. So when I bought the same bag from Amazon, we tried it out for a few weeks and found that the birds were always nervous and pacing when in it (but not when we moved them to the pak-o-bird), easily got over heated because of the clear plastic refracting sunlight into it, and it was hard for me to put them in and out, change food, etc. However maybe if you try it with your bird you’ll have a better experience! Ultimately I think it depends on how your bird likes it, how often you plan on using the bag, and if the cost of something more expensive is realistic right now. After all the Celltei is 6-7x more expensive. Let me know how it goes with your bird!! What kind of bird do you have?

Hey there! I've been doing a lot of research into purchasing a new backpack for my feathered friend, and this Pak-o-Bird Backpack seems like the best option. However, after endless searching and hard work, I cannot seem to get their website to work as intended. Have they shut down their sales? I am in desperate need of a safe and secure backpack for my bird, Ziggy. He is a black-headed caique, and he is my best friend! He's my support animal and I take him with me everywhere, but his current backpack is not the best; hence me looking to buy one of these. Is anyone else having this issue with their website not loading/registering correctly? It almost looks like it's been hacked or shut down? I would appreciate anyone's response. If ANYONE is wanting to sell their backpack second-hand to me, I would be more than willing to go through with this purchase as I am desperate. Purchase can be done via PayPal for safety measures on both sides of the purchase.
