Exploring Reykjavík February 2024 | City Sightseeing Bus | Hard Rock Cafe

- This was our day exploring Iceland’s Capital City Reykjavik.
We took the opportunity to go on the City Sightseeing Bus around the City of Reykjavik which quickly made us realise there really wasn’t much in the city at all. We describe the City much like an Industrial Park and extremely overpriced, more than New York, London or going to Disneyworld!
Overall, we would not recommend going to Reykjavik and would recommend anyone travelling to Iceland for the famous sights to miss a day exploring Reykjavik and unless you have additional time. We would recommend doing another trip instead as there just isn’t enough in the City for more than about half a day exploring - unless of course you like spending well over £30 each for even the most basic of museums.
We were staying at the Lights By Keahotels.
I’m with you - Flyover Iceland is Crazy money, about £2 per minute (but my kids liked it!) 😮
Just couldn't justify it for us, we obviously knew Iceland would be expensive...but when New York looks affordable, that's when we question it! Haha
How many layers are you wearing?! I'm worried I won't be able to handle the cold.
@ruthscales8577 We did wear a fair few layers, but it was nowhere near New York Cold from a few years ago. Generally a thermal layer, two jumpers and a thick coat should be fine in the winter.

We didn't realise until our second day...we utilised the bottle however for the tap water thereafter!
I really dont understand why you travelled to Iceland. Sound's like you didn't planned anything. Use a lot of time waking and complaining about something you could have avoided if you had used thing called Internet
We are giving an honest account. We planned what we wanted to see, but the simple matter of it was that the City Centre really has nothing of interest. If you read the description you will see that we overall felt we had wasted a day in the City rather than another tour. We did as much fact finding as we could beforehand, but that still didn't stop us from finding issues. Not being funny but when you are in a country that literally charges £20 ($27) for a sandwich, standards and expectations!
I have to admit that I didn't see the hole video, because I didn't like all the complaining. Got a bit pissed, as an Icelander.
