    What’s the point of having a recline feature without a high back/headrest? I like to recline every so often when I’m at my desk, and doing so in a chair without a high back or headrest just doesn’t feel right. Some of these ergonomic chairs need to add this if they’re going to add a reclining feature

    As a European, I find that none of your suggestions below $900 are currently available for purchase here, except for the Ticova.
    I really appreciate your reviews, but I often find that Europeans need to pay much more for the same products, which sometimes makes your reviews less relevant for us.
    Do you have any recommendations for chairs available to Europeans under $600?

      Just a followup info, just in case your not aware:
      colamy atlas: is allways at a preordre state in eu, however we can only preorder sometimes, and when we can the price is above 400 Euro (same for cletina mellet is like 420 Euro)
      Eurotech does not deliver to EU.
      Haworth actually have a EU shop, however the Soji is not available in the EU shop.

      BTOD is in US, where they kind of always have net price, because you pay taxes yourself, so europe automatically have +23% in case of my country (Poland), so you always have to expect like +25% premium on top of what you can see from US

      Similar in Australia. We have a downgraded Fern with a plastic base that is routinely sold with only height-adjustable arms. It’s possible to procure an upgrade but NO digital knits anywhere. And although Steelcase and Herman Miller are available, the only place to try them is a questionable Facebook Marketplace second hand seller. They just don’t have them in shops.

    Have you guys tested the COLAMY 275lbs Executive High Back Mesh Office Chair with Footrest Model.2577''? It's priced the same as the Kirin but seems to have a bit more features besides seat depth.
    Been watching a lot of your videos for the past few days, but just cannot decide on what to try/get. Also as a European a lot of chairs aren't available here, and I would like to see more chairs specifically aimed at shorter people.

    I have had my Secret Labs Titan for 4 years and it still looks and feels new. I also bought my Wife and Brother Secret Labs chairs because I was so impressed with their build quality and and quality of materials used. Steel construction, M5 stainless steel fine thread hardware and firm chair padding. I had owned 4 or 5 other brand chairs over the course of 10 years as a result of failure in the building materials or the gas cylinder dying. This Titan (rated for over 300lbs) hasn't failed anywhere in 4 years. 2 important things I would point out is they are firm like a Car seat. So if you are looking for a cushy padded chair this is not for you. The 2nd is they offer their chairs in a Fabric material, anyone that has owned a PU leather chair knows what a nightmare it is when it starts peeling not to mention how bad it looks. With Secret Labs chairs they offer the option to get it in Fabric which honestly was a big sales feature for me. With all of this said, they are not cheap, I paid $600 Canadian for this chair but if it is in your budget you will be getting something that will last a long time.

    • @btodtv
      @btodtv  Місяць тому +1

      If you want something that is going to offer longevity, then don't get a racing chair. The Titan is the most well-built racer, but there are plenty of points of potential failure, which is probably why they only offer a 3-5-year warranty.
      Same with the car seat comparison. I think you are way off base here. My car seat is very comfortable, and it is soft in the seat and back. It has an open backrest design and doesn't feel like it is restrictive. Secret Lab chairs are hard. There is no other way to describe it. And the backrest frame is very restrictive compared to my car seat. The Secret Lab chairs look like car seats but they do not feel close to any car seat I have ever used. -Ryan

  • @isitPC
    @isitPC Місяць тому +1

    Gaming chairs are made for looks, comfort is impossible when they all use metal plates you sit on through the very thin foam cushion. I notice videos like this ALWAYS look at lumbar support as the only real importance, but never take into consideration the actual seat. Mainly because the reviewers are all 150lbs and while not a comfortable truth, there are a lot of people who are more like 250lbs. Chair reviews by people who don't take into consideration all weight types are irrelevant IMO - no offense.

    In my experience, gaming chairs are really good for reclining back and putting my feet up on my desk while watching UA-cam. As far as anything else, I'll stick to my Leap V2 from BTOD! Racer gaming chairs, just suck, the leather cracks, they are a pain to dust, and they are so rigid, it makes it pretty tough to get comfortable. Almost like the whole concept of a racing style seat is to keep you in place while cornering lol! I'm glad to see good chairs like the Fern and Embody taking on "gaming" themes. The market is heading in the right direction with that.

    Great video, loads of informative content. Would love a more Europe/International focused recommendation video since a lot of the recommendations on your channel aren't available in Europe.
    I did tons of research and was unable to find Steelcase, Haworth, etc that you recommend with various upgrades and such in Europe, or that shipped to my location in Europe (Ireland). Haworth for example only sold their absolute basic version of the Fern, and I've found information that indicate the service in Europe was poor. Eventually found a German website that shipped an Embody to Ireland but this was difficult to navigate to, and the Gaming variant seems impossible to get in Europe.
    Keep up the informative videos.

I have my bed right next to my desk and whenever I want to relax and chill I put my legs on it, but the max recline is just not enough to get comfortable + after a while my back starts to hurt. I know office chairs aren't meant for that kind of stuff, but it's at times like these that I wish I still had my old dx racer chair in which I could lean back much further and get comfy without any back pain.

    Ergonomic chairs force you to sit in right position which i never do. I like sometimes to put my feet on the chair,cant do that on mesh chair. In 2 months mesh got litle scufed from my jeans,belt and other hard clothes. I use my pc 99% for gaming,mostly almost lying in chair with controler in hands and legs up, which i couldnt do i ergonomic chair.
    Fixed hedrest was not good if i lay down.
