    26.:05 why not take the bishop on b5 instead? The c2 pawn might be weaker but he has his Queen there, and his bishop now on b4 is in little danger.

    • @billagap3213
      @billagap3213 Місяць тому

      You mean instead of Bf4 white should have played the other bishop Bxb5??😂😂😂 it's checkmate in 1. Bxb5 relinquishes the defense of c2. Don't forget that if bishop takes on b5, the other bishop is still on d2 blocking the queen's defense on c2.

    • @Legslarsen.
      @Legslarsen. Місяць тому

      I see. Ok, then why not Bxc4? That’s a protected block. It seems that Ivanov’s choice was not right, he lost a move later.

      @billagap3213 Місяць тому

      @@Legslarsen.there is nothing to capture on c4. If you mean placing the bishop on c4 then it can be captured and white is down a piece.

    • @Legslarsen.
      @Legslarsen. Місяць тому

      Yes, but c4 is protected by the knight, so being down a piece is only momentary. I was trying to find a better move for Ivanov. His choice seemed weak to me.

      @@Legslarsen.c4 has 4 four black pieces controlling it. Bc4 from white is a piece blunder. Bf4 was a good move.

    Karpov's time was a way far nowadays comparing to this era. Most of his opponents are much behind.
