I don’t care that it’s EV, but did they have to name it Mustang? It should have been it’s own brand or model, it just doesn’t fit the sleek pony car image
As was mentioned Ford is making it its own brand. So instead of a Ford Mustang Mach-E it will just be a Mustang Mach-E, GT, GT350, Shelby GT500, Cobra, Ecoboost, etc. Eventually Mustang will be dropped by most people as everyone will know that they all they belong to the Mustang Brand (people rarely say Ford Mustang anymore anyway). Even the Ford GT may be put under the brand too. I do not think too many will complain about that.

Well the nearest Tesla dealership is 3hrs away, while Ford has 2 within 10 minutes. That alone makes any Ford vehicle a better option for me.....and I suspect alot of people. Ford can call it what they want....doesn't matter to me. If it looks sporty, and is fast why not. Saw a Tesla S the other day.....looked pretty sweet
Tesla sells direct to the customer. No dealerships. You buy a Tesla online in your living room 24/7, so no need to drive to a dealership. When I ordered my Model 3, most of the paper work I did online, took about 10 minutes. They called 3 weeks later my car was ready for pick up. I got mine a year ago, so the wait time might be shorter now. When I was to pick up my car they arranged a Uber service to pick me up at no charge. Signed the documents in 10 minutes and I was ready to go. Took longer because I asked allot of questions. But that was on my time. Last car I bought at a dealership 3 years ago took 2 hours or more to get out of there. One thing I would like to say about the Ford Mach E is why would you design a SUV with 2 doors and no door handles. That is weird. Lots of lost sales there. Also no charging infrastructure to support the vehicle. No road trips in the Mach E that’s for sure. The Tesla Model Y comes out this coming Summer, with a 1000 Tesla fast charging network to support it, with stations still being added. Tesla vehicles are all built in the USA by American workers. Where will the Ford be built? Mexico? If so, good luck with build quality. Which car will have a better resale value Tesla or Ford. Do your homework before spending your hard earned cash. I have had no issues or maintenance for over a year on my Model 3. It’s a joy to drive every day. Tesla has brought the excitement to driving again that the Mustang did back in the 60’s. 👍👍
@@andrerodriguez7603 Many people (like Me) would prefer to be able to go to a dealer, test drive etc. Ford also announced last month more than 12,000 charging stations (35,000 plugs) to support it's electric vehicles. Quality does not depend on where it is built, but how. The Ford Fusion was built in Mexico and was one of the best vehicles on the road. Tesla has had quality issues, but seem to have got most of those straightened out now, but it wasn't because of where it was made. Resale value is based on perception, that remains to be seen.
@@andrerodriguez7603 You purchased a 35-40 thousand dollar car without test driving? I have to sit in and drive a car I'm about to get into payments for 5-7 years.
James Webb excellent points. Totally agree with you. I was being short sighted there. I wasn’t aware of the support for that many charging stations. Good job for Ford, I think GM relied on other people to add charging stations for their Chevy Bolt. I always like Ford vehicles, I loved the Ford Explorer till gas prices went to high. Owned a Chevy S10 pickup, not so good. I had to replace the heads at 60K miles after a head gasket blew. Anyway getting off the subject. At the time I ordered my Model 3, I could only test drive the Model S, it drove like a brick to me. I didn’t like it. I took a gamble I would like the way the Model 3 would drive being smaller. I was lucky and it’s very agile and fun to drive. You are smart to want to test drive before you buy. 👍👍
Leeland I sure did, actually at that time it was 49K, got the long range version, with no autopilot, that was 6K more. That Model 3 is 6K cheaper with autopilot included now. Guess I should have waited. I didn’t test drive it either, test drove the Model S instead. Anyway I was lucky the Model 3 was everything I wanted, I have no regrets even after paying more. I’m sure the Ford Mach 3 will be a good car too. Just wish it was a four door. But definitely test drive it first. Don’t do what I did, I was foolish. Good thing I like the car.
This is the FIRST electric vehicle other than a Tesla which actually captured my attention. O.K., the Porsche Taycan is nice but the price is excessive. I appreciate the fact that Ford actually decided to put a REAL dashboard in the vehicle rather than the Spartan Tesla approach and stylistically, I find it MUCH more appealing that the forthcoming Model Y. Price wise, it looks like it will compare favorably with a GT350 Mustang and be WAY less than a GT500 but still have pretty compelling performance. 'Twil be hard to compete with Tesla's charging infrastructure and their "FREE" Over The Air Updates though. Can't wait to see one in the flesh.
Porsche has the Taycan and Jaguar the I-Pace electric crossover vehicles. There are many older folks who want a Mustang, but can't live with a regular Mustang daily driver coup that has two doors and basically a useless back seat. The looks are awesome, the performance is strong especially in the GT and the range is competitive or higher than other EV's in the marketplace. Ford still makes the coup and for now a V8 engine. There is a large market for this crossover and whether you like it or not. EV is the future of the auto industry. It's great seeing Ford introducing the Mach E while raising the performance of the regular Mustang with the GT500. Considering that GM is looking at dumping the Camaro. This opens up two Mustang markets for those wanting the standard two door coup and the new Mach E for those who want to own a mustang that can be a daily driver for those who needs four doors, seating for a minimum of four adults, Awd, quick charging, strong driving range and performance. A completely new untapped market for Ford.
I'm ALL IN. We really need the major auto companies to produce more electric cars because these brands are familiar to ordinary people. Tesla is cool, but seems elite and unfamiliar. Also, their service isn't convenient for everyone. However, there are Ford dealerships and service centers everywhere. Question: Will there be quick-charge stations all over? There can't be any inconveniences or it could be a bust.
I hated this Mach E because you cant call an SUV a Mustang. But then I realized I was being an idiot, and the Mach E is not a trim for the Mustang, but a whole separate model. So I actually love this car.
What a horrible move on Fords part. First they gut their passenger car department, now they are muddying their own market by naming this vehicle a MUSTANG. Ford has many other vehicle names that aren't being used anymore, or name it something new... and if you thought panel gaps and alignment were bad in Tesla, just wait until you see this one in person.
Purchased my last gas vehicle two years ago mustang gt and was looking at Tesla next for the X or Y model, now that I see this might just have to keep my stable full of mustangs
I couldn’t see the crease for the rear doors. It is a four door. I just saw Top Gear on the Mach E. They showed off the car in better detail. Ford learned allot from Tesla’s Model 3 dash, and Model S display, even the vertical format. They really tried hard on the design and put together a really nice car. Better than anything I’ve ever seen Ford do. I actually love it. But for the money I would still buy the Tesla Model Y, you get way more for the money. But the Mach E should sell very well to the average person that doesn’t know about a Tesla. My congratulations to Ford. Stock price should finally get above 10.00. 👍👍
Looks awesome but I just don’t get why they call it a Mustang. Maybe just because it’s fast? Obviously trying to beat Tesla Model Y to the mass market with a very similar car. This market segment will be huge (moderate priced performance Electric CUV).
This is a really cool development, and Ford has a lot of guts to base this platform on the Mustang that has such a huge V-8 powered history. I would like to see an EV with more power an performance than a GT500 just to show that it can be done (BTW it can- see Tesla Plaid model S ). I think it will only help legitimize Tesla further and build the charging ecosystem in middle America so we can all benefit.
Wins the award for the ugliest Mustang grill ever. If Ford think that consumers want more products like this the company will be filing for bankruptcy or be sold within 18 months. By the way is the tablet on the dash removable?
Pot Belly Grill is huge distraction for me. If you want to use the Mustang brand for EV, why not offer a plug in Hybrid version of the Mustang first and give it at least 30 miles on pure electric since about 85% of most in down driving to to/from work would be covered (if you got free plug in at work). I'm glad to see Ford getting into the EV market, but seems they are being reckless with the precious Mustang brand (Next up is an EV Ford F-150 that is only sold as a delivery van concept...with pot belly grill.... lol)
with an outlet and a special power cord? durrr....... also away from home charging stations are popping up more and more. they'll catch up soon enough. eventually ICE vehicles will be left behind like steam powered was.
It’s looks too high for me. I don’t like suv ‘s. I want a real mustang, but with an electric engine! (This company in England builds a mustang 1968 with electric engine you should check it out. It’s called ‘charge’)
Webasto & MRT took a low end 2019 Mustang and stuck Dual Core Electric Motors onto modified MT-82. That's somehow feeding 1000lb/ft of electric torque through a Manual Shifter, not sure how the transmission can survive that.
You're clearly not a petrol head or genuine car person. If you understood the joy of driving a car with a proper engine, a vibrating mechanical shifter, a rumbling engine that you can fix yourself, you'd shun this future trend of all electric vehicles. Especially with no infrastructure that exists at the moment. You want an appliance that goes fast, has pretty styling and is "supposedly" clean. I was about to pull the trigger on a Tesla performance model 3 but that shit just looked to fuckin ugly. I currently own a 2012 mustang gt, 2019 mustang gt, 2019 ford raptor supercrew. I simply like ford becuase you get a lot of performance for your dollar. For example, my 2019 mustang gt 10 speed with performance package 1 cost $35,758 and my 2019 ford raptor supercrew with some additions cost $61,190. Those prices don’t include taxes of course. I lowered the price on the mustang by$6,182 and I got the raptor at MSRP. $97,190 and I have a brand new raptor and mustang. I would actually buy a mustang all electric too if the price was right and it performed well.
Those rims in the pics are hideous but the car looks nice. The future looks exciting “ let the other guys keep dreaming about the future, we’ll be the ones building it” Ford commercial.
Here's the problem with electric doors...and locks.. if you lose power..the car is locked down ...you can't get in it..not even to repair it...or change a fuse....of course you could break a window...
Interior is looking the right way for an electric but the bulbous design and front end eclipse is very off-putting. Simplify, simplify but probably too late to change now. IMO the Model 3 wins hands down on looks. We're dealing with an automobile that should seldom see a dealer and that's what they should be talking about. I just don't believe the Mustang heritage is much of a selling point on an electric vehicle. They started with a clean slate and simply missed the point of an electric vehicle design by trying to incorporate the Mustang look which doesn't mean as much as it once did, most especially on an electric.
Ford is alienating customers who own Mustangs and other Ford products. Ford has cancelled many vehicles with suitable names available for this product. Fusion, Fiesta, LTD, Edsel, or maybe Clubcar could strike up a deal for electric vehicle with name recognition.
Stupid name. Stupid design. Let me guess, Ford is so insecure about not being able to sell an electric car. They are trying their best to ride off the love and popularity of the real Mustang. This thing should have been its own design with its own name.
Reminds me of those Chinese Tesla clones. Model s and x interior, model 3 glass roof, model x mid section, model 3 aero covers, model 3 phone as key, model s x and 3 minimalism, Tesla style pre order deposits, model s and x grill, model y size.
I hear this is added to the Mustang family. Does this mean they will still have the famous and what Mustangs should have V8 option or are they going to be killing the V8 for a couple years? The reason I say a couple years is they will be killing a ton of fan base and the sales will show. Idiotic from ford to cave to the liberals. . Man up grow some.

Sad to see Fords line up looking almost entirely like Subaru's or GMC vehicles in the grille. The new Explorer for 2020 is just the latest screw up in design. This future Mustang is a joke. That front end is hideous. Why can't the manufactures do an individual look instead of copying others?

Thanks for watching! Check out my video on my new 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro: ua-cam.com/video/Xln3yoTq-dQ/v-deo.html
I thought it was a Mazda at first until I read the title
Ford has always been leading edge with their vehicles. This will be a well accepted offering- they've been working on it for quite a few years. Bravo!
I feel betrayed
If they sell it for cheaper than the Tesla than it will probably heart Tesla a lot
Are all electric cars required to be hideous? Except the Fiscker Karma.
Painting stripes on a horse and calling it a Zebra doesn't mean it's Zebra and this is NOT a Mustang!
I'm glad to see Ford getting into the EV market, but seems they are being reckless with the precious Mustang brand (Next up is an EV Ford F-150 that is only sold as a delivery van concept...with pot belly grill.... lol)
How do they expect us to charge these?
with an outlet and a special power cord? durrr.......
also away from home charging stations are popping up more and more. they'll catch up soon enough. eventually ICE vehicles will be left behind like steam powered was.
Ford you can still change the name. Hope your listening to the people who buy your cars.
They took something great and turned it into a crossover.
Silver 5 star rims please...
Where is your passion and love for the traditional automobile?

You have no clue what you are talking about, only spouting baseless Fears.
1. BEV allows Flexible Packaging and location of Heavy Large components. That mean Low CG because heavy batteries are down low, but then also can be centralised and evenly spread out like DISC. This allows nimble rotation of the car which gears towards a safe minor oversteer. Then there is also more space especialy up high near the wheel for more complex Suspension Geometry and not have to resort to things like Lower Strut Beams. Model 3 wierdly has Double A Arm with no Strut as Standard. If you don't not what that means you are not a "genuine car person". This mean a sharp handling agile TWITCHY car that attacks corners surprisingly hard.
ua-cam.com/video/I9sQFJyOKfI/v-deo.html - RANDY POBST
2. The entire reason why I got into BEVs was because of DIY Conversion & Motor Swap community. All this BEV stuff started out as Warp Motors & Zilla Controllers that Back Yard Engineered put into old cars. Tesla & AC Propulsion did NOT Invent or does not OWN BEV concept. They owe the DIY Community & University Teams from the early 2000s who figured all the BMS Balancing, Motor Controller & Liquid Cooling stuff. Modern BEV are far more flexible and parts compatible than ICE. You can literaly force a LG Chem Battery to power a Tesla Drive Unit. You have no clue how much easier it is to work on BEVs with Limited Resources.

3. Infrastructure is already exist it's called the ELECTRIC GRID, the charging stations can be installed quite fast because it already exist. In 5 Years Tesla Supercharger built 1680 location world wide & 723 just in USA. That allowed a Model 3 to do the Cannon Ball Run in 48hrs & 10mins for 2800 miles. All by ONE Company and not an entire industry.

You just made you self look like a FOOL saying Falsehoods out of lack of experience and ignorance.
@@Neojhun you mad bro?
@@624radicalham Yep i'm sick of these overused copy and paste false rumors. I just find it wierd you are a HAM operator yet you are clueless about BEVs that "that you can fix yourself". Screw just fixing you can BUILD your own architecture.
43k for an electric SUV isn’t bad at all.
I really don’t like the grill I know they are trying to replicate Tesla but still I would prefer a piano black grill the same as the Chevy blazer rs
It looks like a Hyundai Tiburon
All ready, their having problems with it.... in the title they said it leaked.... I'm not cleaning it up... 😆
I’ll buy one if it looks nice. Waiting for the actual reveal and to see it in person to make up my mind. Seems like the price is right.
I want one!
Are you serious. ? Get a life .
Donald Burton no u
Rick9482
Just say it like it is
It’s an ugly ass suv/crossover with a mustang badge
This is such a missed opportunity
Ford is alienating customers who own Mustangs and other Ford products. Ford has cancelled many vehicles with suitable names available for this product. Fusion, Fiesta, LTD, Edsel, or maybe Clubcar could strike up a deal for electric vehicle with name recognition.
If they do this, I'll trade my 64 1/2(65) in for a brand new challenger. Not a mustang.
Omg this so terrible this is a leak that needs to be plugged
Looks like jaguar Epace from rear.
They should have called it the Stallion
It's an SUV.
Lee Iacocca just rolled over in his grave. Ford is going to call this piece of shit a Mustang?
Stupid name. Stupid design. Let me guess, Ford is so insecure about not being able to sell an electric car. They are trying their best to ride off the love and popularity of the real Mustang. This thing should have been its own design with its own name.
Exactly ruining the mustang name with this bullshit.
Stupid name stupid design
This bull shit mustang
Them headlights look like shit
Reminds me of those Chinese Tesla clones. Model s and x interior, model 3 glass roof, model x mid section, model 3 aero covers, model 3 phone as key, model s x and 3 minimalism, Tesla style pre order deposits, model s and x grill, model y size.
Leave it to ford to fuck things up when they are getting good!
No
No!
Calling it a Mustang is an unmitigated disaster. Call it anything but Mustang.
I want the Mach e to have an actual gas engine and to be LOUD just like any other Mustang
Antonio Petrella but then... the “E” in the name makes no sense... lol... marketing its complicated!
In other news…
McDonalds is introducing an adult sized fruit cup and is naming it the Big Mac-F
PBS is launching a new Adult porn TV series and will be naming it Sesame Street-A
Kraft is introducing a new ready-made canned mushroom sauce for steak and is naming
it Mac & Chees-M
Apple has decided to enter the appliance segment and is putting the final touches on its first washing machine - they will name it the iPhone 10-W
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Mustang ain’t a Mustang if it’s not powered by gas! I stick with a Hellcat 🤘🏻
Ok boomer
Should have called it Maverick.Mach 1 was a two door Mustang car. Mustang should only be a car. Than call all Mustang cars Pintos.
Sad to see Fords line up looking almost entirely like Subaru's or GMC vehicles in the grille. The new Explorer for 2020 is just the latest screw up in design. This future Mustang is a joke. That front end is hideous. Why can't the manufactures do an individual look instead of copying others?
And here I thought Suburu copied the Taurus' grille for the Legacy.
This isn't a mustang it's the estang
Iam waiting for the Ferrari Milk Float
Is this is a replacement for the actual car, or a whole seperate model in addition to the car.
Ford probably wont like my response either way!
It's a separate car. If it was replacing the actual car, Ford might aswell be shooting themselves on the head.
Yup would be suicide for sure!
Has anyone forgotten about Dodge? Making cars with coffee pot engines doesn't impress me...0 to 60 in 3 seconds doesn't beat the demons 2.3
Hate this!! Going to ruin the Mustang name.
I’ll buy one to coyote swap it with some twin turbos.
Why?
johnny cake I understand the tech of Electric and all but I’m not a fan of it. Yes I am a gear head, I like the rumble of a V8 of supercharger, turbos, Diesel engines. I don’t trust fully Electric car. MY Opinion
@@lh32186 but why buy one to convert it? That would be extremely complicated and expensive for just a crossover, especially with the abundance of crossovers that are already available.
johnny cake true you not wrong about that but to say I have the first one with a gas engine. But I won’t do it, it’s more as a joke that’s all
johnny cake lmao! You took this clown serious?
NOT a mustang!!!!!!!!
No thank you Ford.
TRAITOR!
Yep
This sounds like an idea cooked up by their new, horrible CEO. Just keep the Mustang name off of it. For instance, the new Chevy Blazer is essentially the SUV version of Camaro but you don't have to be so overt about it.
Wholy crap now mustangs have their own electric suvs where did big old v8s go???
When V8 started having less torque and not as quick as BEVs. Times have changed.
@@Neojhun but an electric mustang? Come on now
@@zacharygoodwin804 Webasto Mustang Lithium with modified MT82. DROOOOL worthy i would buy that if someone actually put that into production. Sadly it's just a utopian dream concept car.

@@zacharygoodwin804 Sorry i care far more about Electric Muscle Cars or Lighting-Rods. The thing that got me interested in all this stuff was Motor Swaps BEV Conversion Builds. Thought is was going to be a 2020 model. Probably too late to compete. Would like to see more range, less price! Nothing about self driving?? Tesla will forge ahead and bring it!
Is it too late to call it something else take the Mustang part completely off of it a REAL Mustang has a V8 manual transmission and two doors
