Why only 321 subscribers, 12,105 views in a 3 year period that this was posted on such an important event as 'The Burning of Cork' the Killing of two Lord Mayors of Cork that brought independence to the Irish homeland six months later that is relevant to 100 million people worldwide of Irish decent. It is sad and strange that the Google algorithm favors videos of music etc over this much more important event in Irelands history. Did the UK had a hand in the so called famine of 1845 - 1850 ( not a famine when the potato crop fails five years in a row ). It is not a famine when one million Catholics die of starvation and disease and no figure exists of how many Protestants died of starvation and disease in this five year period. Will we ever get the chance to get the truth out there ?. Please share

And that is exactly one of the reasons why British presence had to be ended and Ireland had to be freed from British rule and why this country had to become Poblacht na hÉireann, a country to its and for its own people.
Brexiteers & Britain first group members like to forget how many Irishmen fought and died in U.K.'s battles...... "with fire & sword in vengeance, we proceeded systematically, village by village, & we destroyed the houses, filled up the wells, burned the crops & broke the reservoirs in punitive devastation ..." Winston Churchill writing in the Telegraph 1897 regarding retaliations by British & Indian forces against the Afghans. At the end of World War I, Churchill by January 1919 was Minister for War, and was responsible for the British garrison in Ireland and the Irish police. He was part of the team that negotiated and signed the Anglo-Irish Treaty which ended the war in December 1921. and then proceeded to arrange the arming of the Irish Free State soldiers to help them quell the Republicans that wanted Ulster to be free with the south as well. Is it any wonder that buildings in Ireland were burned with leadership that believed in such tactics? Plus is it any surprise that many members of the far right "Briton First" movement today, have relocated to Northern Ireland from England and Scotland in anticipation of defeating a united Ireland vote in the near future???
Sincere thanks to Cónal Creedon for this magnificent documentary on the burning of Cork City by the British Black and Tans in 1920
