i remember as a kid falling asleep to this record then the needle hit the end and woke me up all the time lol now i invested in a turntable that shuts off when its done lol
I sold my copy of the album quite a long time ago. A mistake? I dunno…. I enjoyed the act of sliding the record out of sleeve and inspecting it for dust. Then, carefully placing it onto the turntable making sure that I don’t touch the playing face. Then, bringing my head down to the table level and tilting my head to see that I drop the needle onto the groove. The satisfaction of hearing the POP of the needle drop was only second to the first notes that came out of the speaker. THEN, I would slowly lower the turntable cover making sure not to drop it lest the needle skip onto another part of the song. Afterward, I’d grab the album sleeve and start reading the lyrics along with the song. AND, of course I would listen to all the songs in the order that the artist intended, because hopping songs was too much work! Ahhhh…..somehow, flipping through playlists on my computer….not as satisfying.
Moe Haliska I still have my copy, I couldn't get rid of it - it contains much of my youth. The memories that come as soon as I play it are wondrous - sad and happy. I know every hiss and scratch like old friends. Lovely.
The album covers were in some cases works of art. Use of photography and ink, with in some cases list of artist who were involved in each track, would be a source of wonder. Not only the music but the how they were packaged is the thing that we will never get back..gone are the Days!
I just have to say thank you for putting this up one of my favorite songs from Mclean and the best part is that it's on a classic vinyl Lp record!!awesome:)
A beautiful melody, beautifully sung , is timeless .
love this song. my mum always played it.
The children of the digital age will never know the pleasure of all the little 'ticks' and 'clicks' of an LP. Lovely. Thanks
@centervilletn but we're listening to it on UA-cam. So it's a low-quality digital audio.
Possibly the best track on a great album.

An absolute mistake. Convenience is no match for the beautiful and natural sound that a vinyl record produces.
