My Dad would play this album's 8 track on his old Dodge Demon in the early 80s over and over while he was driving our family on vacation. We'd listen to it, he'd rewind it, and we listen to it again. My favorite album of all time. Rest in Peace Dad. I know you are Riding Like The Wind somewhere out there.
Christopher Cross on 8 track in 1980, $6.99. Price of this song online, $.99. Seeing these guys get together again and do this song? You got it! Priceless!
Amen bro ! An album filled with amazing songs performed by beasts on all instruments. Rare to see that much talent on one piece of vinyl. Cheers to this gift 🍷
I can't believe they finally played this tune together live ! Almost brings tears in my eyes! For me, Eric soloing could be perfectly compared to Van Gogh while paints one of his beautiful impressionist work .
I love this song, I think there is a Zeppelin influence in the riff, the guitar solo is incredible on the LP in the middle we get scalding runs and tapping by Eric and then the second solo blends seamlessly into the saxophone outro! Here Eric has that annoying chorus pedal on!
I can see why you think Zeppelin but it really comes closer to Echose by Pink Floyd during the middle Jam section motif. Now the ascending riff does remind me of the closing section of Kashmir.
he switch between vintage Fender Twin amps and vintage Deluxe Reverb amps, these are actually used for a stereo rhythm set-up. He also uses one Marshall head (with cabs) for a “dirty rhythm” and anther Marshall for lead tones. He’s one of those musicians that packed a lot of equipment.

This was my favorite song from the entire album.
Eric's solo on the album is breathtaking. It's great to see them playing together!
Criminally under-rated song. Amazing music.
Best version of this song. Eric's playing is just a dude feeling every note. Amazing phrasing and guitar solo.
In my opinion, only Eric Johnson could have constructed the solo on this song. Its a remarkable piece of work.
He is unique, absolutely!
The Best artists ever

I've loved this song (and especially Eric's original solo) since the album was released in the late 70's. His playing at 0.59 makes him human ...
You're right, my ears popped at 0.59!!
what a guitar player. What a voice.
Excelente Eric
Oh, and thank you so much for this post!
This song is so dang good. The album is great, and of course has a few really good radio friendly hits, but this song really is art.
this gig is a treasure
Wow, thanks so much for sharing this!
Bravo!I seen c cross in Springfield I'll early 80s.
This is a great demonstration by EJ of not overplaying.
Un album straordinario. Tra i più ispirati della storia della musica pop.
Wow just found this !!!
"All the young and lonely girls wait for you..." I never heard of such a thing. It is the men who are lonely for them.
Unless you are a rock star. Relatively certain Chris was singing about groupies.
@@soonerpoker, then again, your explanation makes perfect sense.
Dios los puso juntos a estos cuatro músicos excellentes

Thanks a lot for your posting. God Bless
I was thinking “wow this Christopher Cross tribute band has an amazing singer?????” Then I read the title lol.
Da pelle d'oca!

what amp is eric using for his clean sound?

Lovely song but such a pity about the sound
