In our island, especially in remotes area in Sumatra, kerambit usually in small size. Because it's meant to be a hidden weapon. The bigger the kerambit surely will make a lot damage, but it will also harder to control and easy for the opponent to read your movement.

That simply proves how little you know about the karambit...sorry that will likely read as having a condescending tone...not my intention ...but UA-cam is ripe with videos that provide an inaccurate history of the karambit...I do however have to say that a guy doing a video representing an establishment called”.the knife center “makes himself look like a professional jackass when he inaccurately states the origin of the knife style he’s featuring ...the origin of the karambit was NOT an agricultural implement...it was never a farming tool in the countries where it originated ...the the Malaysian archipelago....it was always a weapon first and foremost

@@blakebarber5750 it was a farming tool back then. I'm from Sumatra, and I know the history. Kerambit is just another sickle centuries ago until it used as a weapon in our martial arts, Silat. Minangkabau popularised the use of kerambit with their infamous Silat Macan, and since then kerambit associated with Silat Macan (Tiger Style) and it's act as a metal claw for the martial artists.

Great idea on this video with so many folding karambits out there now to choose from.
There is one correction you need to make, however. The Brous doesn't have a reversible clip. It does have the blank on the one side which is a carry over from the USA made original G10 version where it was supplied with an extra clip for left hand carry. The imported version you show with FRN handles doesn't ship with an extra left hand clip. Try switching the clip and you'll see that it is backwards.
At any rate, I carry mine in the left side, for presentation with tip down. It waves out lightning fast!

I have the CRKT Provoke compact and I love it. Solid deployment and locking mechanism. Slimmer than the original provoke, but fits great in the hand with no hot spots.
I find the gimping on the thumb catch has a nice enough bite, that with practice, I am in fact able to deploy using the pocket catch technique akin to the Emerson wave (right handed deployment only of course).

Found a more basic model of the CRKT Provoke for around $70-80 which had a steel and polymer handle instead of titanium and lacked the glass breaker. Fell in love immediately!! Locking mechanism is secure as it is easy(and enjoyable) to use. 10/10

Fox 599TiC is by far my favorite folding Karambit. The combination of the Elmax blade, Titanium and Carbon Fiber frame lock with over travel stop, Emerson wave and flipper tab all make it a premium Karambit. However the IKBS bearings brings the form and function together and truly set the TiC a part from the standard 599 & 579.

Liner lock release and 1/2" wide, it fits my large hand just fine, isn't too heavy, very fast, positive deployment. For the very cheap price (under $60), anything you can find as a negative is minor and completely acceptable.

Böker Toro and Oscelot should make the list, but Emerson patented anything remotely resembling a "wave" which is any notch cut out of a folding blade, especially if more efficient ones that look nothing like an Emerson Wave..., and they wouldn't import to US, despite the Toro obviously having a far different and even better and more f versatile design. Cold Steel Tiger!?
