Thoughtful physics and engineering are funny things... Truth is, the IFS vehicles struggle with the uneven terrain (as they all do) and keeping wheels on the ground. The EarthCruiser with its live (solid) front axles makes the job look easier since it mostly keeps all four tires on the ground. Notice also how ALL of the IFS vehicles, at some point on this uneven terrain, look like they are about to tip over. They look this way because they ARE about to land on their side since they are severely off-camber due to the front axle lack of articulation. Of course, driver skill and having an automatic transmission helps also. You can quickly recognize those vehicles with manual transmissions.
The L300 shitbox/washing machine really is a triumphant and glorious machine! Its so great to see a $500 gumtree special show up the big boys. You have treated it with respect and dignity. If I owned it, it would be clunky, graffitied and probably still burning. Well done!
That short wheelbase of those vans really works pretty good in that rough terrain. My Chevy van would have had some problems on that terrain I'm thinking.
Good question! The L300 has a unibody and it is built strong enough to have no problems opening or closing any of the doors after all this abuse. To my surprise even with two wheels diagonally hanging loosely in the air any door can be operated normally.
I'm know zero about four wheel driving so my question is, with these vehicles such as the Iveco tourer being so tall, how does it manage not to tip side ways?
@Josh There are two L300's in the video. One with the open front diff and one with a welded front diff. I am sure you can spot now which van has which diff 👍
Finally some solid putting it to the test video footage!!!
Great test. Job well done
Now that is how family memories are made! Not logged into some wireless hub or such! Well done you guys!
Hard core Jeep guy here.....
But just luv watching those crazy vans & trucks....! 👍😊
8:18 Excellent spotting and knowledge, 2cm line change makes all the different, didn’t need to bounce the car, spin the tyres or rip up the track
Thanks for sharing this. Great driving and amazing what those bigger vehicles could do.

Congratulations!!! I love toyotas but any vehicle seen here is a jewel, I like your style... keep going
my home track! good effort getting that van through there mate.

+boganindustries Why not respecting a cheap and cheerful 4x4 that goes anywhere? What would you suggest I should drive? Something standard?
+boganindustries I think that was a compliment Martin.
As an L400 owner , thats how I took it. nice vid
love the earth cruiser
THE HERO OF THE DAY: THE LADY ON THE LAND CRUISER AS SHE IS DRIVING A STANARD CAR.
The ivecos have 37 muddies and three lockers standard.
Really good drivers.
The impressive thing is the Iveco had the house on the back and walked it in , but the Mitsi is king !

Делика это не машина, это состояние души!
"Delica is not a machine, it is a state of mind!"
So true!
FOR THE L300 VAN , AFTER ALL THOSE TWISTING AND TORSION ON THE FRAME . DOES ALL THE DOORS STILL WORK SMOOTHLY ESPECIALLY THE HEAVY SLIDING DOORS
Good question! The L300 has a unibody and it is built strong enough to have no problems opening or closing any of the doors after all this abuse.

@@MartinVanMan thanks for the reply , very helpful
Love the Iveco. Crikey I'd be worried about hitting the canopy on a tree
What a nice trail!
good driver and good truck 👍
What tire sizes on that Iveco EarthCruiser and maybe s.o. can remember tire pressure and load of front and rear axle? Many thanx. Cheers
wow was not expecting the earthcruiser to walts along that easily
That is awesome, But still I'd be worried of damaging some thing underneath the vehicle. like the drive shaft or tearing out any lines underneath
iveco daily: the best of the beast!
Great video guys! The L300 is amazing, shows you don't require a 200k 4x4 to get off road.
I'm know zero about four wheel driving so my question is, with these vehicles such as the Iveco tourer being so tall, how does it manage not to tip side ways?
The heavy bits are located in the bottom half 😊
Are the l300's diff locked or standard?
COULD THE FUSO EARTHCRUISERS DO THE SAME TRACK AS EFFORTLESSLY AS THE IVECO.?
Great stuff.
How good was that L300!
Impressive, I'd say!
Good day! What is the wheelbase of Iveco? and how long is the housing unit?
Nice : ) enjoyed your video.
Thumb up for L300
Who would of thought an L300 Mitzi was so capable.
What a beautifull forest! where is this filmed?
j Pieters - Yep, very nice area South West of Nowra, NSW Australia. Plenty of other tracks and a few nice bush camping spots as well.
Surely a change of pants at 0:32 and at 16:14
Wow!!!
Is the front diff on the L300 the stock open diff?
@Josh There are two L300's in the video. One with the open front diff and one with a welded front diff. I am sure you can spot now which van has which diff 👍
great ...
what kind of mpg do these get avg
That's why in the future, offroad vehicles will be literally .. off .. the .. road (flying)
stupid fitting alloy bar on that 100 series cruiser.
Oh man, that Iveco is just cheating! :p
STOP OVER REVING THE MOTOR STAY UNDER 2000 REVS.
That IVECO is cheaaaaaaating
In those conditions, there's no cheating. You make it or break it!
