Man I haven't listened to Phish for probably ten years...but I was at this show (and most other shows between '93 and '97!!!). Talk about memory imprints...I'm getting those giddy feelings all over again. Too much joy : )
@@jordanblack2250 Still is? Man, how anyone can positively compare Trey and Phish in 3.0 to how they played in the 90’s defies my comprehension. He went from Jedi Trey, machine gun Trey, Sith Lord Trey… With the finest tone, phrasing, and technique of basically any electric guitarist ever… to sometimes-‘on,’ cringe dad-rock guitarist and song writer, who rip chords jams and who chucked his tone, confidence, and sublime singular phrasing out the window. On his very best nights he still plays some great stuff, but he doesn’t come close to his old self. Not even same ballpark.
I completely agree. His playing right now is getting better - that damn whammy pedal still thrives. But it's got to be drugs or something, because it would be hard to lose such creativity over just a couple of years. Who am I to judge though, theyre still the best. Cant wait for Merriweather
Trey plays so cleanly. I wonder if he was developing some sort of carpal tunnel syndrome in the post-hiatus period? Comparisons are stark. -It happens to classical musicians often. It is a real occupational hazard.
But im also a strange individual with my taste. Im mostly a jazz and oldschool headhunters style funk guy at heart. But i grew up on Metal. Phish and Sabbath with Dio are my favorite rock bands of all time. LOL so in the end i just guess im wierd LOL this is probably why a believe john coltrane is the greatest musician that ever lived and created modern rock music with his musicial theories and techniques
this whole tour in 94 has most of my favorite phish jams of all time although i am 1 of the few that prefers the way they jam after the first hiatus was over. Dont hate on me, i know they arent as consistent w/ the awesomeness this since this period of time but when they are on, they are fucking ON more than EVER lol. (the yamar jam from IT for example, they never wouldve done something like that in 94, so funky yet dark but didnt sound like they were just tryin to figure out where to go next)
dude. no offense but ive been to over 250 shows since 1992. Believe me i know. I never said Phish wasnt tighter pre-hiatus. I just said that when they are on, i like it more than i ever have anything they've done musically. But whatever, its not like they are a real jazz band or anything. Trey couldnt play half the shit i have to in nyc jazz clubs just like i cant pull off what he does with a simple mixolidian scale. Trey is an alien. But I like Fishman the best, most versitile of the 4
I think it's funny that you know what trey could and couldnt play. I'm sure you're a good player if you play jazz, but trey played some solid jazz standards when he was younger.
This is the best Reba of them all. IMO of course.

Musically and Artistically Phish is probably the best thing that sound ever heard.
One of my favorite reba jams of all time!
it doesn't get much better than that. melt my head off Trey...
I'm in tears.
Wish the band still played like this.
Barry Sanders not quite running like '94 either.
@@BTrotter10 lol
Superb low end audio for UA-cam. Mike's droppin da heavies.
One of my favorite versions of one of my favorite songs!
One dislike is Wilson - and the other two have admitted in the comments that this is so good their minds blew and they accidentally hit dislike.
Oh my! Can't believe I haven't caught this before tonight!!
Trey is great, yes, but am I the only one to hear how great Mike is here?
Youre the only one that ever anything every time
The first time i listened to this, my eyes welled up.
very nice reba. i like what mike starts doing around 3:30 and the way trey picks up on it. some hey-hole magic.
trey is one with this reba... best jam ever
this is one of the best reba's i have ever heard
Trey was the single greatest guitarist on the planet at this time
At this time my ass.. still is, always was

Yea it's called getting older sadly it will happen to us all
There are songs where he lights it up like the glory days but said events are not as frequent as we all would like
i love what mike does around 3:30 and trey picks up on it
summer '94 has some great shows
Nice Muted action. Phish was the shit in 94 the year I graduated.
6-14-94 is flawless puts this reba to SHAMMMEE and the end of 10-31-94 reba is by far the most epic
this vid is genius trey.....i just came all over my burrito.....and i'm eating it.
This is the nastiest Reba jam I’ve ever heard.
the camera just can't take the massive release of energy around 4:20
jawdropping
epic call... this jesus left chicago is so amazing, page is fierce
1:45 lick is awesome
You said it. Never heard a reba come close to it.
CRAZY
This is by far the sexiest reba I've ever heard.
@thetruthmustbeknown yah pretty easy scales. In the reba jam he plays around one particular scale- F mixolydian, or the B flat major scale.
thanks op for posting...LLEEGENDARY

Dear god this is bad ass. The person who hit the dislike needs to be buried in an ant bed....
