36 G/A in 19 games !!!!!!!!!!! Lionel Messi at his big age outperforming everyone in the league while being more injured and more occupied (Copa America) than everyone else. Not even Europe has a better story than this right now.
If only inter miami had better defensive players, we wouldn't be here listening to this nonsense. Messi always perform remarkably at individual level and at his role on the pitch.
If messi more games he would have about 30+ goals Ahead of those other players... And His team mates aren't really helping he can't do everything by himself
Messi most goalcontributions Most sucesfull dribbles completed 68% Most big chances created 58/72( all Miami 72,Just Messi 58) all of this was missed Most big chances created 47/61(all Miami 61,Just Messi 47) 47 goals created Just from Messi Played Just 19 games and had more then 2 goalcontributions per game(record of MLS) Won Miami Miami's second trophie ever with most points ever in MLS.. Singelhandedly won Miami 60%of the points Best rated player in MlS with 8.3 rating and in 12 seasons in his Carear ( and has 8 balon the oro's) so if the team would be better in spme years,Messi would deserve more then 10 of them... There are not just goals and assists in football, why you people think Messi won 8balon the oro's? Becose he is/was the best in 8 out of 10 statistics every year he won...
Isn't the Supporters Shield just as important as the MLS Cup? All the top leagues place an emphasis on the league title over one of the domestic cups, why is it different in the MLS?
Why is this even an argument? Who could possibly be better than the guy who had 36 goal contributions while only playing half the games and who led his team to score the most points to win supporters' shield in the regular season? Messi doesn't just put up numbers for himself, but he helps his team achieve things! Those who I see actually complained about this are mostly Ronaldo fanboys (who hate Messi) and people who are actually tired of seeing him win more awards when he has so many already. Well, it's Messi. He's the GOAT for a reason.
So on point😂...I personally didn't know that he's goals were 20 and assists were 16 in just 19 games... That's so beautiful from Leo... Anyone with an issue here, well people who hate you will always have issues with you.
I understand their agreement like that, cause all the MVP players nominees not reaching the second around of the MLS CUP.. Why this agreement from K. Keller.
In this case, I think the backlash is more about the perceived bias by MLS to make sure Inter Miami got into the Club World Cup, specifically because they and FIFA want Messi involved. To Kasey's point, MLS MVP is based on the regular season. If the playoffs were included, it should go to Riqui Puig.
There's no bias toward Messi or Inter Miami. They deservedly clinched their spot in the next club world cup by being the best MLS team in the regular season winning the Supporter's Shield with record points. The supporter's Shield winner is the equivalent champion in all euriopean leagues. LAFC and Columbus Crew could have been chosen as well instead of Miami for winning respectively US Open Cup and Leagues Cup. For MLS MVP, it's only based on regular season and the rules are cristal clear. To be eligible, a player has to play at least 1000 minutes. Guess how many minutes Messi played. Everyone is complaining about him being the MVP forgetting that when he was playing Copa America, the other players were playing in the regular season. Even during the international breaks, MLS was still on. Yes he got injured but he didn't miss all those games due to injury. He missed the majority of them by playing for his country. How can he be blamed for that. After all, it's not his fault if MLS doesn't give a shit about international tournament and breaks...
@AbedCruz they were going to get the slot no matter what, but MLS/FIFA refused to say what the standard was. MLS always viewed MLS Cup as better than the Supporters Shield until this year, because they were aware Miami couldn't, and did, fail to win MLS Cup.
@@michaelwalker7400 The spot wasn't about how important the trophy is. It's about the best team throughout the regular season which was without a doubt Inter Miami. Seattle got their spot because they won the Concacaf Champions Cup in 2021. LAFC could complain for not being picked for winning the MLS Cup last season. Messi is the only reason you're all crying out there. No matter whatever you say or think, Miami deserved their spot.
Messi is filling up stadiums. Messi is giving assists or scoring goals every 45 minutes of play, which is insane.. He's arguably the best player to ever play. So, no.
Messi is the best player of all time but in terms of numbers he did not earn that award. Benteke scored the most goals and Acosta gave the most assist this season
Miami team was 27 before Messi,Alba, Busquets and Suarez came. Without them they are still at bottem. 11+players play a game, not just 4... They are 35+years old and still without them 20 Miami players had just 10 goalcontributions and Barca 4 had 96 goalcontributions. You People should rather talk about how bad the level is in MLS,becose allmost retired players saving Miami in 95%of the games they played and Defeted top 6 clubs in Mls this year....stop umberesing yourself,if you don't understand shit.
In my opinion he did not deserve it and I'm not saying he's not a good player but there is just players with better stats and way more games played in the season
You gotta explain the better stats, what player had better stats than Messi, also in terms of what, goals, assists, both? Also, why does a player deserve it more just because some players have played more games in the season than Messi has. Here is another reason, look at Messi's team and manager, they are not good compared to some of the other teams in the MLS. Do you truly believe someone like Luciano Acosta or Gabriel Pec give have gotten more assists and goals than Messi if they were on the Inter Miami squad. I guarantee you, they couldn't do those numbers. Pec and Acosta are on the best teams in the league and putting up the best goal contributation numbers, but there is no way they couldn't have pulled off what Messi did and take a team that was dead last, to being first in the entire league.
so a player has to get punished because they got called up for their national team? keep in mind a good chunk of mls games happened during the euros and copa america, so messi was bound to miss games and yet he still pulled up top numbers.
@@danieltoscano5157yes but I did not say what player specificly should have won it but in my opinion it shouldn't had to be messi and I know he missed lots of game because of international tournaments but that doesn't change the fact that he was not the best player, well not in my opinion
@@josuevillca3437 first of all I don't not winning the MLS MVP is a punishment and yes he did pull really good numbers on the few games he played but the fact that he played a few games makes me think that he did not deserve it
What do you mean upset, people have been upset for so many years, the hatred towards Messi is immense I have never in my life I have seen people so hateful of one person in football, and that is Messi. Everything he does is questionable, every trophy or award he wins is rigged, stolen, undeserved, da da da. The only issue is how people define MVP, is it the best player in the league or the most valuable to their team. There's a difference.
It's both! How can people don't understand this??
