This prevailing imagery has led to what some call the “White Picket Syndrome,” in which a person blindly holds on to the idea of a perfect lifestyle despite its inability to every really exist." so i guess, a certain reality (or what is pictured of it) of middle class life (country side, fishing...) is here mixed with that same middle class fantasies (lambo, stuffs like that). Could aswell explain the closed eyes of the child. This a just a embryon of a theory, though
