I always research the ports I’m going to domestic or international. On a small blank business card I write down the emergency and non emergency police numbers. A taxi company number with the best reviews. And for foreign ports the phone number,address, and hours for the US consulate. I also take a picture of it on my phone as well.

Beach towels - I bring my own sand free, quick drying, micro-towel. It's a shoulder saver.
The ship's towel is so heavy when wet and you have to lug it back to the ship.
