I purchased the 6gb and did a big stress test.
Twitch with picture in Picture mode.
    Spotify playing music
    Firefox with 5 tabs opened.
"Paint" app with a project open
And a filmora (video editor) project opened.
And a bunch of other apps opening totally 16 apps.
It peaked at 93% but steady 89%.
Its more than good enough and for a user like me that only have 5 apps MAX open at a time this is still a great purchase.

Maybe this can help some ppl make a buying decision:
    I just got my Tab S7 3 days ago and there are some thing I've already noticed;
    1. When I held the tab S7 in my hand in store for a few minutes and tried it, I leaned more towards the S7+! Because the regular S7 felt kind of small, but I am on a budget so I still got the S7 (ordered it online) and I'm SO glad I didnt get the bigger one. The Tab S7 feels huge once u unpack it and use it..
    2. If the screen of the regular S7 is slightly yellowish go to a store and compare it to the model there. chances are your screen is not right. I've read that some people have this issue and apparently I do too. You should get a new one in that case from samsung. The S7+ screen is more vibrant and the blacks are deeper. I would love to have the Tab S7+'s screen even after purchasing the Tab S7 but I'm still satisfied with my Tab S7. If money isn't a problem I would still purchase the Tab S7+ (if you don't mind it's huge size).
    3. The latency of the Tab S7 originally was 26ms but is now 9ms just like on the Tab S7+ and that is super noticeable. It's crazy how accurate the pen experience is.
    4. If you intend to do heavy Video and Photo editing with multiple open Apps, consider the 8GB version. I do lots of photo editing with large images (4000x6000) and while the experience is still nice, if money isn't a problem I'd choose the 8GB.
    5. 120hz are awesome.
    6. Turn on dolby atmos in the sound setting, it makes a difference.
    7. The pen it also attachable to the site so you don't have to store it on the back!!
    8. You'll be happy with both of them. Even when you buy the regular S7 it's such a great experience. I don't regret it and I'm super picky.
Hope that helps some of you :)

I ordered a Tab S7 today...I thought the size of + model was just too much for bedroom lounging..if i want bigger i'll just use its casting/docking functions...And the last time couple of times i tried oled type screens IE, ps vita, Galaxy tab s3 or s4 can't remember atm.. both looked strange to my eyes...I got the 512gb, 8gb version

Yeah, I’m surprised how optimized the android OS is on these tablets. Windows 11 uses 4GB compared to that of Windows 7 which uses 1GB of ram when dormant, which is absurd. If you’re just taking notes or watching media, this will be good enough for you for years to come.

Glad to FINALLY see a comparison between the 6gb and 8gb versions. I was really indecisive about it, and also wondering why did they put 12gb of ram in the galaxy note 10+, but then these tables can get up to 8gb only.
I didn't make it to get one during the Amazon prime day, but in the meantime I've been watching lots of reviews and your updates have been really helpful. Hopefully during the Samsung week I'll find an interesting discount... I am really thinking about my choice, because I don't have another tablet to trade-in, so yep, though to swallow.
I also tried the S7+ with the S Pen and completely fell in love with it (EMR, amirite?). I make use of many sd cards so I would only get 256gb of storage, cause I rather get those 8gb of ram as well.
I am also impressed with how helpful were your videos about it, even if you didn't really show how you were using them lol.
    New sub, stay safe!

6:05 if only lol….folk just can’t help but not complain…..and to not be completely random rambling-- tab s7 256gb/8g acquired on Xmas right after launch, now March 2024 and I’ve had nothing but love for it. Came from the tab s2 with 3gb and some six years of abuse on it, needless to say it’s a very nice upgrade- however I still have my s2 and still make use of it to have like podcasts or a show on in background and even with original battery (gotta basically keep it plugged it if in use but will still standby for days) it works well for singular non pressing tasks. I tend to make my phones (iOS 11 and 15promax) do the multitasking heavy lifting when needed as it just is more convenient to handle and keep at the ready.
Much like Randle wanted to show Dante, it’s the best of both worlds.

I am using the 6gb/128gb Tab S7+ (the only option in the UK) and have had no RAM issues. I think for the average consumer 6gb will be fine. I think 8gb/256gb should be the default for the £1000 list price for the 5g model and Samsung are very disappointing here. After just a week I got £250 off as very few people are in the market for £1000 Android tablets so the price was obviously too much. They have settled down now to about £200 off but more a reflection of supply-side developments.
    Great tablet.

And developers know they'll lose potential buyers if they make their apps too demanding. But if you mean future proofing 4 years or more, then maybe you're right. The Tab S7 is the greatest electronic device ever for me! But I'm trading it for the 8GB RAM/256GB storage Tab S8, because I really needed! I multitask a lot and use a lot of storage
My experience after 18 months with the Tab S7 has been amazing, perfect! These tablets are everything I wished for a tablet to be and sadly, the iPad Pros just doesn't cut it for me. I also own an iPad and have owned many in the last and hate iPadOS and how limited it is, very disappointing. I'd never waste more than $500 for an iPad. I can't live without a Galaxy Tab S7/S8, these tabs are made for a tablet lover like me and I need the best tablet possible! I've become a huge fan of them thanks to the Tab S7/S8. They are worth it even at $1000.
I will even send a note to Samsung with the Tab S7, thanking them for making the best electronic device I have ever had in my entire life. No PC, laptop, phone, console, etc. can beat it.

You should have check how much RAM is available for S7 for 6GB and 8 GB tablets. I think 2GB of the ram is consumed by Android OS, and remaining is for the user. Then we can come to a conclusion about whether 8GB is enough for heavy use or not.

My Galaxy S4 has 16gb and you can't have any more apps than will fit in that 16gb that's a hard limit. Even if you got a 100gtb SD card you won't get one more app than you already have in that 16gb. Is this that same type of setup where you can only have 6gb or 8gb of apps or is it used more like a cache where you can still have apps on your 256gb RAM storage as well but they have to be moved to the main storage like a desktop would essentially giving you up to 264gb of apps if you desire?
What about a comparison to Surface Pro or HP Spectre or 10" Windows 10 Fusion5 FWIN232 Plus S1 or others? It sounds to me like you're sold on the Samsung but have you looked at any of these others?

This is the issue I have run into with previous tablets and phones and such. I cringe at the selling point of "expandable up to 1TB" or whatever size card it accepts. Yes, a few apps can (partially) move to the SD card but not most core apps and it's mainly just for storing photos/videos and such for apps that allow that. If I have a 32GB phone with up to 256GB of "expandable storage", sure that means I can use whatever internal storage is not already taken up by the system (or bloatware that can't be deleted) for apps or other data, but it doesn't mean I can add a 256BG card and have it act just like the internal storage! I feel like this should be made more clear and upfront.

So I am still worried the note20 would become obsolete in a few years just like my note 9 was shiny and great at first then became more and more sluggish. Also due to the difficulties in compatibility for Android, many Apps just won't work properly, or would simply stop working out of a sudden. Also It's very hard to ensure a real time backup, in ios it could be done via iCloud which backs up most data, even stuff that are stored within each Apps. But again i just can't bare with the iPhones despite having them in the past. The deliberate slow down in each iOS update by Apple is simply unacceptable, and the closed ecosystem means I can't work cross-platform properly. They never got a big enough phone for me(my note9 is 512g internal with 512g tf card, for me 1TB on a phone is minimum). Moreover, the new iPhone 12 max has a disappointing battery life, and the camera upgrade is just mediocre. If only they made a true Pro phone with a stylus, I may have returned to apple. I opened apps like Infinit painter and ran Spotify at the same time. When zooming in my Antwork this is where i experienced the Limits of the 6gb. app crashes etc. , also tablet gets almost hot. I dont know if 8gb would be the solution?

Nice comparison, If the extra ram made ANY difference even like 1% smoother operation of the UI I would go for it.... But if its just for heavy multitask I would go 6 ram. I used on in store and it seemed silky smooth like ipad pro. However I keep going back to an ipad pro. I just love its ui fluidity and the pencil just amazes me how lag free and real it feels. The tab S7 pen seemed very good as well, certainly close enough to seem as good but I just can't stay happy with android tablet apps specifically video edits, Lumifusion on ipad is pretty much compromise free for edits on a tablet. I do like the aspect ratio of the Tab S7 for video watching but everything else I prefer ipad. I like to use ipad vertically for notes and the Tab S7 just doesn't look or feel right portrait mode. I do like S-pen features though... They def make a nice tablet. I feel there is room here for a new tablet operating system. Something designed from ground up to work on tablet screen with pen/touch input. All the versions we have are modified mobile OS or Windows trying to be tablet friendly. Dex is decent I guess but I still feel there is something that could be designed specifically for tablets UI wise.

I really am having a hard time with this to replace my iPad Pro lte . I was set on mystic bronze to Macy home my 20 ultra, but it’s only in 128 or 512, no let. Then I really use and like cell service, I’m stuck with 128 gb, 6 Gb ram and only black. Sigh. I wish I had more options to choose from, especially getting the 6gb vs 8gb model with lte. But I get it, don’t want too many options as this isn’t going to sell like iPads. But I hope there is enough interest to allow many options

The Tab s7+ is still not available in my country I thought about getting it from Amazon US but I am kind of afraid that the warranty will be an issue if I ran into any problems the base model of the tab S7 here cost 866 US dollars (the only one that's available)which is very expensive and I imagine when the S7+ finally comes out will cost 1100 dollars or even more that's why I was thinking about getting the S7+ from amazon which will cost around 1000 dollars for the base model

They skimped out on the s7... Should have given us 8gb ram on both, this is 2021, the aren't cheap tablets, even the normal s7 is a hefty £600, give us the same specs for both models and leave the s7 plus with the better amoled screen.

Ok. I'm sorry for the dumb question guys but the more ram something has. The more it kills the battery? As in will it drain it faster and shorten a device's lifespan? Just wondering because I assume more power in a device obviously works everything more, right?

    • @jabedon

More ram didn't necessarily kills your battery, but it allows more processing so you can have your battery going down very fast

5g is not important. Unless you torrent and want the movie on your device ASAP. But the WiFi 6 is more than capable of refreshing a Web page or playing games online. But depends on if you are the type that likes to go outside with your tab, now that's another thing
