    Differentiate the salt noise and pepper noise

      “Salt-and-pepper” is a type of noise specific to images. It consists in white (salt) and black (pepper) dots, randomly scattered onto the image. In a positive representation of the image (beware! there are also negative representations) black corresponds to level 0 in the image, whereas white corresponds to the maximum level. The image itself may contain several hundred levels of intensity. It means that the statistics of salt-and-pepper are not about intensity, but about position of noisy points, along both the width and height. So we have a bi-dimensional uniform distribution.
