Today we're back playing with South African G6 Rhino in War Thunder ground realistic battles.
G6 is probably one of the most fun vehicles in the game right now. It has 155mm gun with an amazing HEVT round(which is pretty good for removing planes from the sky) , high elevating gun, and decent mobility. Overall amazing vehicle for 7.0.
G6 Rhino is a perfect tool when you're depressed for being destroyed by CAS all day.
You can call it antidepressant of War Thunder.
So today we're going to to remove all CAS from ground realistic battles . Enjoy ;)

Definitely a cathartic vid for Dollar. The sheer joy in his voice as he snuffed out the CAS scourge. Running air guard might not always end in wins but it's not always about the money, spidah-man.

I still love that CAS players hate AA that can actually fight them effectively such as SAMs or VT vehicles, because “we randomly die” when randomly exploding tanks is the entire “CAS VS Tanks” gameplay loop.

I've never seen that, I can only hear all those peopel constantly crying that CAS is killing them... I haven't ever come across a CAS player who can't handle being taken out, where the same cannot be said about tank players, who have issues with CAS.
@J Wilt most of those things would be real easy to implement and tie to gameplay, like putting supply warehouses and artillery positions outside of tank map boundaries, and link them to using artillery by scout tanks and ammo replenishment on points, like if they are destroyed the team can do none of that. shame making good gameplay doesn't pay.

Dude I wish they had a straight tank vs tank mode, I'm sick and tired of planes. And an actual team deathmatch mode would be nice too, instead of dealing with a bunch of idiots who ignore control points and just snipe across the map the whole game...

Absolutely. I've had many a tank battle ruined by these pesky aircraft.
I would like my range back in my spaa to actually be able to fire at the strike drones :(
Also, im fine with cas in ground rb, but they need to even the playing field by letting us have sam site spawns in air rb. You know, to even the fairness out
three years ago Radar SPAA were destroying WW2~post WW2 jets that have 0 countermeasures and dumbfire weapons.

The anti-CAS stuff is some of the best on this channel, but the next time you do coastal, might I suggest the MPK Pr.201M from the Soviet tree? I just started playing with it recently and I think it'd be great for a video with solid autocannons as well as derpy mortars

If you compare how good CAS and AA are at killing each other taking account both skill and equipment. CAS takes way less skill with having better and stronger Weapons. So basically a reason why CAS is so annoying is because people play to less AA because it is to hard to be good with it.
Indeed! Harpooning large, essentially motionless and defenseless targets whom the very nature of the game places in nice concentrations (spawns & caps) isn’t too challenging.
I know that I have only achieved maybe five AA aces in my 12 days of game time in SPAA (2000+ shoot-downs though) all at BRs below 7.0, so the hard way.
To Gaijin “combined arms” really means “double grind/spend”.
So that will never go away. Besides, when ground was introduced they needed to make CAS very attractive to get existing players (i.e., pilots) to play the new mode and grind/buy a whole new set of vehicles and crews. They just never saw a reason to change this.
Maybe we could encourage Gaijin to make plane-on-plane violence much more profitable than killing tanks as a way to reduce CAS in a way that Gaijin doesn’t see as a lose of value.
But it's far worse than just the skill difference between the two playstyles, chief among the many issues with air in war thunder is the DESYNC,
it's especially notable with lower rpm SPAA that certain shots trajectory or tracer should go through the plane, and instead you get some smoke, or a fire effect with not even a hit
Planes and even helis will desync away from shots.
To put it into perspective, war thunder will often ghost shell on still targets on the ground, this 100% because of desync, if war thunder often can't synchronize shots onto still targets or targets moving at 20-60km/h, it becomes clear why SPAAs struggle in the game, since the servers now have to correctly sync up a shell going at 900m/s vs a plane going at 200-500m/s.
The fact that SPAA is hard is not alone because they are hard tools, it's a multi factor issue that heavily favours air instead of ground.
The wall of text i've wrote also only touches base on the main one of these issues, that the devs probably can't fix, and others they won't.
@@Videos553 i remember specifically some countries for the longest time had horrible spaa like the ussr where tho the shilka at the time was at top stuff like the zsu 57-2 kinda sucked aa wise unless it was spaded it was hard to use the first shot was the most accurate and for some reason a 57 mm tracer shell hitting a p-47 did nothing

Yeaahh Dollar💪🏻 As a South African, I approve😉. All our tanks are pretty awesome and that G6-45 is anti-everything. I wish Gaijin would add our G6-52. Its got laser range finder and a auto loader with one less crew member and is a bit faster as well + some new cool rounds.

The kill camera showing you where the person who killed you is, was one of the dumbest ideas. I’ve got no issue with planes being in ground battles. But that camera is just stupid.

My FB4005 almost lost to a wheeled puma because the shell hit the cannon and only damaged the cannon. The crew, not even the driver, didn't even take damage.
Lmao in reality direct hit from 183mm would send anything to dimension beyond. Back in wot i played elc amx and isu 152 damaged my tracks with bl 10 but didnt oneshot me.
Hey dollar could you play with more south African tanks like olifant, rooikat, eland, ratel and concept 3 or Try the He on the M103 or the Amx 50 surbaisse and surblinde for faster reload.

I recommend giving anti-CAS plane gameplay a try aswell. I love to use my researched fighters in ground RB by spawning them without any payload and air target belt, because them CAS players rarely ever can do anything. When I don't find planes, I either patrol a bit or just return to my airfield and leave after repair back to my tank. It's just as satisfying as destroying planes in SPAA for me.

My favourite ‘SPAA’ is the Begleit. Most people use it like a light tank, as they should, but I use it as an SPAA with ATGM capabilities if I need to fire at a tank. 100 HEVT, 36 AP, and 12 SAPHE

Man the difference in experience between when you're downtiered and uptiered in this is insane. One match you're boinking Tiger II's and Corsairs, the next you're getting yeeted by ATGM's from across the map and swiss cheesed by 20mm cannon armed jets.

It is exremely satisfying when playing on g6 and when your shells are hitting planes, insta-killing them. Reminds me of bkan gameplay when i was doing literally the same, but seems like g6 has more ammo than bkan :D Love your video!

I was wondering what was hitting me in the first place because I thought that only my periscope and rockets should be sticking out and had to learn the truth the hard way when the kill cam showed the proxy fuse explosion. Should have been warned by the 3 already dead tanks on that ridge when I arrived. 😆
I've seen a bunch of players complain about planes.... bout a min or 3 after the match starts here comes the air spam... it is what it is, lol. I swear the range finder is off a lot. But besides arcade /realistic.... they could make tanks/tanks... no air, that's not arcade settings, but without plane spam. They make it real easy for planes nowadays.. anywho great work betty and as always ( SEND IT )💯💯

Why nobody focus AA duties = If you focus AA you will loose ground battle, if you are winning ground battle a lot of players will pick planes, hence loosing AA and ground battle at the same time.
Plus the fact that a lot of ppl are toxic towards AA players sadly.

I do anti-CAS with my CV9040 B/C/BILL and LVKV lineup. Planes, helicopters, and drones. It's so much to shoot at. You should give it a try sometime.

The reason you couldn’t kill the plane:
Propably because it still had the invincible mode cooldown active (when you spawn in a game you’re invincible for a short time) even though it’s a bot.
I have no idea why they enabled that for test drive

whats really funny about that panthers side turret just taking a 155mm he is that same portion of armor on the turret that historically peeled away like paper when hit by the 75mm m3 high explosive shell.

For tanks the normal he shell is still more reliable than the prox fuse one, since it explodes further away thus making it lose a lot of energy

It didn't go well for me when I tried to hunt planes with type 75, like over a year ago. I need to give it another try
The zoom is way higher but the shell is slower, maybe a "Using artillery the correct way" and shoot over hills
the best method to get rid of enemy cas is to spawn a fighter plane. there are some with good low alt performance, that suck in air rb, but are actually nice in ground rb, as almost every fight happens in between 0-2000m alt
Hate air, literally the reason I play ground. It's boring, requires little skill and makes me want to off myself for being related to the subhumans that play nothing but CAS
