I was having a lot of trouble to update the firmware on Windows. Texas Instrument is under mantanacent and I can't download the flash program software. I tried to do it with the python script but instructions were unclear for a beginner like me.
This video however was very clear, and I could use the python scripts under minutes.
PS: I completely gave up using Windows because it didn't recognize the dongle as a serial device. On Linux it was a pretty straight forward process, using the command lines provided in this video.

Great video, thank you! This helped me to get my sonoff working with HomeAssistant. At first it didn't auto-configure properly but after FW upgrade it started to work as expected! (runnin HA under kvm/qemu and USB "passthrough") I used the python script -method and first I had to manually put the device to "boot mode".

It has ZStack already on it as stock of course. Ready to go. There has been some new software fixes in the code base by TI as well as some power changes to allow the power to be increased if you want. I know it has fixed some pairing issues for some folks especially with some Aqara/Xiaomi sensors.

    Hi!
I‘m new to the channel and I bought this coordinator 2 weeks ago. I‘m using it with the Zigbee adapter of ioBroker. It was easy to install the device and to pair all my lights and sensors. But I have an issue with Hue dimmer switches and the Trådfri switches. Their keypress-states are complicated to handle in automation scripts. Now my question: to test, if there‘s an improvement when I switch from ioBroker to Home Assistant, I would like to know a possibility to backup and restore the database of my paired Zigbee devices. I don’t want to pair them all again.
Thanks in Advance! Thanks for this informative video!

If you're like me and having driver issues on Windows 10 then you need to install the drivers. I was seeing the device in the device manager but was not able to see the device in the TI tool. So go to community.home-assistant.io/t/sonoff-zigbee-dongle-plus-driver-problem/389630/2 and you'll find a link to the Silicon Labs drivers in that post or use this link: www.silabs.com/developers/usb-to-uart-bridge-vcp-drivers Once I installed the drivers the TI found the dongle almost instantly when holding the boot button down for a few seconds. Easy fix for windows users that aren't able to detect the device. This is b/c you don't have the driver installed. I did not need to reboot and flashing was 100% quick and painless. Good luck! Oh and if these links do not post or you don't like clicking rando URLs (hacker cough cough) then just google : "Sonoff zigbee dongle plus....driver problem?" and you'll find the post I'm talking about, it is a the HA community so its legit! :)

I just got the same sonoff zigbee dongle this week. My various Ikea sensors associated with no problem. However, I can not get my aqara temp/hum sensors to pair, no matter what I do. Anyone have any ideas/solutions? It has the shipped firmware.

@@digiblurDIY Yeah. Also changed batteries, held it very close, etc. Blue light blinks on the sensor but it never shows up in the logs at all. Guess the sensor could be bad, but I have two. Also same behavior on CC2531 stick.

if you get unrecognized then you are pulling the the master branch and that feature has not been pulled in yet. Look back in the video, or just click the branch to the sonoff one.
