Using the correct firmware and had it in pairing after router flash?
@@digiblurDIY The nvram reset did the trick. Thank you for the assist.
Thanks for this. Mine is still stock but everything works fine so I am loathe to flash it just in case. At least I can flash it direct from the Raspi Pi that it is connected to now 😃
Merry Christmas 🎄 🎅
If you aren't have pairing issues then no need to upgrade. The latest revision has fixed a few things for folks though.
Great video, and very timely. My Sonoff Zigbee USB dongle just arrived, and I want to swap out my older USB dongle. Turns out that same script can be used to change the MAC address of the new Sonoff dongle, so I'm hoping this can just drop in without having to fiddle with my Zigbee devices at all! We'll see..
Great to hear!
I followed your video step by step but the dongle didn't connect to any devices after the update.
I tried and tried, then I downloaded and installed the previous firmware from December 2021 and then it worked.
So be careful, the last firmware from January 2022 doesn't work, or at least didn't work for me.
I am running the Jan 2022 dev release here on the last dev of Z2M after I saw a few others having success with it. Definitely stay on the main release for sure then as that one seems to work well.
Quite interesting. I´m about to start with Zigbee, as my Oregon 433 Sensors + SDR dongle have the annoying behavior of changing the name when I change batteries, so I´ll try this one.
A different subject: I see in your videos Putty and WinSCP :) , I have been a big fan of both since their very first 1.x versions two decades ago, but if I may, I´d suggest giving a try to SmarTTY. For me has been one of those little things that just make everything easier. (not sure about the new autocomplete "smart mode" though)
Cool. I will give that software a try.
I just upgraded from cc2531 to cc2652p sonoff. But i have alot more lag and issue parring my devices then I had with the cc2531. I have upgraded it to newest firmware
Definitely not normal. Heard someone else saying that on Reddit. Have you tried to setup a test network with it?
How do I check which firmware is my sonoff dongle running on?
In Zigbee2MQTT you can check in the about screen, I do believe in ZHA you can look at the coordinator details screen.
Thanks for the tutorial. Everything works fine and I flashed it correctly BUT it doesn't show up anywhere. Not in ZHA nor on Zigbee2MQTT. Any ideias what happened here? Thanks
Show up? Did you have it configured before?
@@digiblurDIY probably didn't explain myself in the best way, when I try to integrate it with ZHA nothing appears... Nothings shows up to integrate
Haven't used ZHA in a while but from back then you had to supply the port name. I used the serial by id one.
@@digiblurDIY I followed other tutoriais and it showed up automatically. In my case nothing happens. To configura manually I have to insert the port (I guess, not connected to check the term right now) which I don't know how to get since it does appear in the Hardware section of HA
Did you power cycle the device?
I bought the Sonoff Zigbee bridge almost a year ago but never got around to setting it up. Is this dongle an alternative? Do they do the same thing?
Far different things and chipsets.
@@digiblurDIY I know they have different chipsets. But aren't they both Zigbee coordinators that can also communicate with an MQTT server via pub/sub?
Kind of the same principles but totally different leagues
thank you for this tutorial. Time ago I followed your tutorial to flash a Sonoff bridge with Tasmota. Now I want to replace this bridge with the USB Zigbee 3.0 plus dongle plugged into the same machine as HA. Home-Assistant Supervised is installed in Virtualbox under Windows 10 Pro. However, Win 10 does not find a driver for this dongle. After searching for quite a while I give up. Maybe you know a download source for the driver?
Check the windows update maybe and see if there is any optional updates.
I was having the same problem and there was an optional update for the driver. Thank you!

Something has changed with the Linux python script... Couldn't flash till I held down the boot button at powerup... then the flash worked..
Weird... I used it a few weeks ago. Did you put the command to skip the boot button?
@@digiblurDIY Not sure as I flashed form a Ubuntu live boot as all my Linux machines are virtual. That might have been the case.

Merry Xmas. , and I always watch the crap at the end .
Merry Christmas to you and your family as well. Someone gets it! Ha!
I just got the same sonoff zigbee dongle this week. My various Ikea sensors associated with no problem. However, I can not get my aqara temp/hum sensors to pair, no matter what I do. Anyone have any ideas/solutions? It has the shipped firmware.
Try the 202112xx firmware. I know a guy who did a video on it but I just can't place it...
@@digiblurDIY Ok. Will try that tomorrow. Thanks for the quick reply.
@@digiblurDIY Firmware upgraded to 20211217 but still no luck with the aqara temp/hum sensors.
Odd. Did you try the procedure of continue to press the button every second or two?
@@digiblurDIY Yeah. Also changed batteries, held it very close, etc. Blue light blinks on the sensor but it never shows up in the logs at all. Guess the sensor could be bad, but I have two. Also same behavior on CC2531 stick.
Hi
I get option --bootloader-sonoff-usb not recognized
and if i try without, i get

if you get unrecognized then you are pulling the the master branch and that feature has not been pulled in yet. Look back in the video, or just click the branch to the sonoff one.
@@digiblurDIY What a stupid mistake :-(. need to learn to take instructions :-) Thank you a bunch. happy newyear
no worries. I skip stuff myself on my own instructions.
What happens if you click disable bootloader? Asking for a friend 😭
You need to recover it via JTAG.
@@digiblurDIY Thanks. That helped my search a lot more. So not worth it. At least I have working firmware on it.
Do you mean 2652 chip? The ones at tubeszigbee are 2652.
Fixed the graphic/title, damn transposing numbers! :)
New here what does a coordinator do?
It is the radio that coordinates the traffic between things.

They picked a great time. Not sure if it is posted anywhere else. The python script works on any OS.
@@digiblurDIY oh, so you see that too... I thought it was a restriction because of the geographical position (but said in nice words). Ok, i'll wait then
No I was able to login and download it. I would post it somewhere but my legal team of zero is inferior to their building of lawyers waiting.
Great video but ADSB with a ZigBee dongle? Did I hear you wrong?
Tell your son "I didn't watch all that crap." 🤣
I don't recall exactly what I said but that's on my little machine that runs my ADSB stuff using proper SDR adapters.
@@digiblurDIY That makes more sense. I think ADSB is outside the range The ZigBee dongles are capable of receiving but you never know what " undocumented features" might be possible.
rotzooi werkt niet.... JJJAAAAAAA het werkt !!!!!!!!!!!! Nee helaas alleen reset !!!!!!
Yes
Sorry doesn't work@@digiblurDIY
Bofa dem?
Maybe you can start the video to tell where you started telling something usefull!. Saves a lot of time. Let me tell it. Skip the first 4 minutes. You will save allmost 25% of the time. USELESS for starters
UA-cam chapters work awesome. I spend the time to put them so people can jump around. Love the feature and wish everyone did them.
Can we start promoting other platforms? HA slowy becoming politically inclined and when you want apolitical environment then they throwing bans.
I don't get involved with politics myself and especially not here as that is the escape from it all here. There isn't much HA in this video. Zigbee2mqtt isn't HA at all so you don't even need it.
