Great video my exhaust is being delivered in the next couple of days and your video has put my mind at ease as it sounds perfect for what I wanted to achieve. Thanks
We have been watching all your exhaust reviews. (And all other vids of course) 👍 if we weren’t over an hour away, we would offer you our car to use if it was needed. 🚙
@@AussieVanAdventures yeah I hope so. I had a 4.8 Ti on 6" lift and 37s. Twin locked. I hope I don't regret not being able to do really hard 4x4ing. But I really just want something as a mint daily that I can slap a set of 35s on and a 2" lift and still have heaps of clearance and be able to tow safely hahah
I understand this is an old video. But am I the only one who can't hear the difference between stock and Harrop? No-exhaust sounds like a monster though. I took mine out for a drive like that when the cats were removed for a cleaning, it's terrifying.
gday mate. now that youve had this on for a while and done a bit more towing. How do you rate the performance, droning while towing long distances? Also have you had any issues with the mechanical quality, rusting or any other issues? cheers for the content!
Heya! Yes we have done a lot of traveling and towing now. Honestly still very happy with the middle muffler swap. Good value for money. You can hear it while towing, but it’s not annoying or upsetting. Mechanically it appears to still be good, the outer coating looks to be holding up still.
Hi mate been watching a few of you videos now and we are thinking of getting a series 5 Y62 I know it’s going to use a bit of fuel but not sure how much . Have you done any fuel testing to see how it goes towing your van and not towing. Cheers Dave
Hi mate, all I can delay is do it! You wont regret it. Honestly fuel usage depends on a variety of things. Head wind weight, van size wheel size.. etc.. we have the worst of most of those 😅 and we average (for the most part) around 15 normal driving (keeping in mind we have 35” mud tyres etc.. and we are usually a little “spirited” with our driving 😅 as for the van being hooked up… it can change a lot.. but between 20 with everything ideal and 33 when we have head wind and in a rush
@@AussieVanAdventures thanks for the info I’m going to test drive one again on Thursday arvo and hopefully put in a order god knows how long we will have to wait though. I’ve got a fully custom 79 atm auto as well as 4.495 gvm and 7.995 gcm but I’m getting 18 not towing and 30+ when towing so that’s better than I get now cheers Dave
the cats are threaded holes, so you cant use the new supplied bolts because they are the wrong thread.. so the originals are the only option. and the rear part was the same but the male version. new bolts were used in the middle to bolt the three NEW exhaust parts together. Hope that helps.
Hey mate, was that install really as easy as u said... I ve just got the updated version with the new heat shield next to flex pipe and can t get it to fit... it's tight as, have tried front to Bach, Bach to front , left to right... etc etc.. is there some trick that I m not seeing... any advice would b much appreciated. Cheers Shane
Hi mate, Iv actually seen other people say the same as you.. I would contact Harrop and ask them because the first lot of ‘updated heat shield’ units were on slightly the wrong angle from what I remember? They had to rotate the shield to clear properly (maybe this is your issue?) Mine was before the heat shield update, which is why I heat wrapped mine. Let me know how you go.. would have been frustrating !
@@AussieVanAdventures frustrating 🤯... sent 3hrs when I got it would nt work, then contacted harrop.. they got manufacturer to call ... sent me the 2 new front pieces ... I ve spent another 2hrs today still can t get it to work... just seems all wrong...
@@AussieVanAdventures honestly I feel it's everywhere... angles on flanges Don t seem right... getting 2nd bolts into cat took me nearly 1hr... hole does nt really line up... if u get 1 pipe tighten to cat the other side is extremely tight to the point of stripping bolt... really disappointing... ATM...
Oh mate, that sucks. I’m sorry to hear that. Visually it looks the same as mine on the ground though yea? So bolting the back on, then bolting the front on.. then the middle is not aligned?
Hi mate, I assume it’s probably a cost to gain factor maybe? Also a pain in the bum to change too. 😂 We have seen tons on people to headers. Personally, it’s not some thing we are looking at doing atm. If we were supercharging, we would probably do it then maybe.
you can hear it, but its not a drone really.. but the sound IS there.. im not 100% sold on it yet, but im pretty happy when i put the foot down for now. haha
Hey mate! They run fairly rich and safe from factory, adding the exhaust doesn’t require a tune, but could get you a few extra HP if you wished to do it. This exhaust is actually really good towing, it makes a noise when your foot is in to it, but it’s fairly tame other times
@@AussieVanAdventures cheers for the info. Ordered my 2022 TI yesterday, yehaa. About 5 or 6 months wait. Your Chanel will be good research for my accessories build.
Great video mate thanks, just ordered mine, 2 years on from your video and nearly $400 more.
I thought you had way more subs, sound like a natural on camera. Very clear straight forward vid, good stuff. Can’t wait to own one of these bad boys

Love the look of them!

Are those tail lights the smoked version? Love those wheels.

Glad you enjoyed it

Cheers, dd

It sure is haha! Sounds great! Thanks for watching!
Hi did the y pipe need heat wrap due to the heat?
When are you going to south Australia 🇦🇺
Sounds brilliant mate. No thong slap👍🏻👍🏻

Hey mate, did u have any dramas with that flex pipe and heat on the acuator? Cheers Shane
Hi shane. we put some heat wrap on that part.

Two questions. Do you have remap your ecu after installing the exhaust. Does it drone when towing a caravan
