So today, we’re honored to be encouraged by Davis Campus Pastor @Pete.Sung, who digs a layer deeper into the full reason why “Jesus wept”, and how we can be “that same kind of friend”. / Bayside Devo THU.06.08.17

    I just read that verse before searching this video and for the first time I've truly understood the meaning and importance of the verse...there's no one like Jesus. Wish we could all turn to Him. His love is immeasurable.

    What I like about this is how you start by explaining the why behind a man's lack of emotion.. that there is a reason why some men are like that.
    It serves a purpose at the time. That is immensely important for people to understand... especially women.
    The delivery of what's being spoken is in an open and easy non religious manner.
    This was the style of discussion I was looking for when talking about biblical principle.
    Thanks for being an example of how to.

    I believe he wept for Lazarus losing his way after being taught. He said prior people who walk in darkness lose there way. I believe Lazarus was morally dead when Jesus came back to bring him back from that. This would explain to me that he was sad because the word had not taken root so he wept. When he called him out Lazarus was bound hand and foot. It's not common practice to do that to a dead man is it? God bless

    Jesus is angry not at death but at the lack of faith in the people as to whom He was. Jesus said He was the "resurrection and the life." But they did not understand His power over death.

    I think Jesus Wept because they didn't believe in Him, really. He knew Lazarus was going to rise. He just told them over and over who He is and they don't get it, yet. Jesus wept because they really didn't believe in Him. He's still weeping today because most the church are bigots and idolators. Rev 13:11-16 is fulfilled in America. The "IMAGE" is in front of you. The "MARK" is on everyone when we're born. Sin is the mark. Compare Exodus 13:16 & Rev. 13:16 & Matt 5:29. The only way to wash off the mark is by being born again. The MARK OF GOD is the Holy Spirit. Ask Him in. Luke 11:11-13

    Interesting. I appreciate the video. Please allow me to give MY take on "Jesus Wept". I was born with the name... so, I've looked into it. LOL! My 4 Cents:
    "Jesus" (the Christ formerly known as "YESHUA") wept soon after he found out that Lazarus died. Lazarus and Yeshua ("Jesus") were best friends. I'll repeat: THEY WERE BEST FRIENDS.
    "Jesus" (Yeshua) was SO HURT ("deeply moved in spirit and troubled") by the death of his closest friend... that he literally CRIED HARD. HE WEPT... so much that it warranted ITS OWN VERSE.
    How would YOU feel if you were given the news that your best friend died?!? Think about that... and let it sink in. "See how He loved him!"

    • @m.sparks4394
      @m.sparks4394 4 роки тому +1

      Lazarus Banks We are always singing about the Love of God and oh how we love him but this specific verse gives a very deep perspective on God's love towards His children...If you connect John11:35 and the death of Jesus you get to see how deep His love is.

    • @lazarusbanks1277
      @lazarusbanks1277 4 роки тому

      @@m.sparks4394 ... the SPECIFIC VERSE of "Jesus wept." refers SPECIFICALLY to how He reacted to the news of Lazarus' death. Now, if anyone wants to interpret that as meaning something otherwise, so be it. That is a choice.
      The Bible can be taken metaphorically or literally. There are many parables told within it, of course... such as "the Rich man and the Beggar" (another story of another "Lazarus"). As this verse goes, it represents the Christ's response to hearing about the death of his dear friend... Mary's brother.. Lazarus.

    • @m.sparks4394
      @m.sparks4394 4 роки тому +2

      Lazarus Banks His weeping showed true care and love for Lazarus ..it also means he felt the hurt and pain for all that were mourning and weeping. John11:33 When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled.. If He felt this for Lazarus, then I know he also cares for us when we are suffering, hurting, grieving etc for He truly knows how it feels like.
      Remember verse 21 &32? "...Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died" and 36-37 -Then the Jews said, "See how he loved him!"But some of them said, "Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind man have kept this man from dying?"

    • @lazarusbanks1277
      @lazarusbanks1277 4 роки тому +1

      @@m.sparks4394 ... my take away from this chapter in the story of Yeshua ("Jesus") the Christ is that he was HUMAN and felt His human emotions thoroughly. This brings balance and the lesson I've learned is that the Christ truly experienced the gambit of emotions in His lifetime.
      Some people do not wish to celebrate (or even ACKNOWLEDGE) the FACT that Yeshua ("Jesus") was indeed a human man. We are ALL reflections of "God", but not to be worshipped as such.
      I won't debate the Christian religion... or how anyone chooses to operate based on the programs presented within it. I just love the story of Lazarus and I wanted to give my take on it.
      Peace and Love.
