- The Powercat Podcast discusses Kansas State's trip to Colorado on Saturday for a late-night kickoff. The Wildcats haven't played well on the road this season, while Colorado, which is also enjoyed a bye last weekend, won at UCF its last time out. This edition of the Powercat Podcast features GoPowercat.com publisher Tim Fitzgerald and the insights of GPC's Ryan Gilbert and Brien Hanley, and streams on the 247Sports Podcast Network at Megaphone.fm. And, as always, the Powercat Podcast is sponsored by Fridge Wholesale Liquor.
Hey Colorado fans in the comments, here’s a couple things. I appreciate y’all’s enthusiasm and support of your team but, you have to stop taking criticism so hard. This is a KState podcast so they are going to be critical of the opponent plus they don’t know as much about CU as you all do. So relax, it’s not a personal attack. It’s a game! Have fun. EMAW
Colorado literally got rid of cormani a 5 star db cause of his work ethic what makes you think that locker rook isnt up to par,
💯
Hey. CU fan here. And look, I do enjoy the commentary and seeing what you all think about the game. In the end, we’ll see on Saturday. I did want to push back a little at 24:50 about somehow Prime just letting any half-good football player onto the team, while KState is more selective about good character.
If you take a look at the 2024 class, especially high school recruiting, CU has been extremely selective in their offers. And if you’ve ever watched a Well Off vid, Prime is nothing if not extremely concerned and focused on players’ work ethic and moral character. I mean, no CU players have yet been arrested for impaired driving or weed possession. Just saying.
I agree seems like he runs a good program, they haven’t had off the field issues.
I mean weed is very legal in Colorado but that don't make you wrong 😂😂😂
@@gnarlieybrown4214 You can't smoke and drive though
@@gbear34 you're right, no one's supposed to, but they are generally pretty lenient about that unless they really want you for something else or they just don't like you...
@@gnarlieybrown4214 I thought ncaa did randoms. They used to
I think K-State as a whole and Avery Johnson in particular, were surprised by BYU. I think they thought they were ready. But until you take the first hit, it is all just planning and the plan is the first thing to fail when contact is made. It is experience that rises to the occasion. We'll see Saturday just how much K-State learned from the loss at BYU. Let's hope they learned more from that loss than from the win at Tulane.
We have not hate for Dylan. We wish him the best. Good young man. Btw not a new cu fan. 13 year season ticket holder.
Right we want the best for Dylan just not this game
CU alum obviously wanting CU to win. But can definitely agree with the SEC/big ten bias hell even ACC how is Clemson top 10 who have they beaten?! Miami should have lost twice already and is 6!?… and your Texas now in the SEC and that making them somehow this amazing team as if they ran the big 12 point was spot on
*K state has one of the worst DB cores who give up some of the most yards per game. CU has one of the best, if not thee best WR cores (and one of the top, if not the top QB) as well as CU is one of the best teams against the run, top 3 line backer room, top 15 defense, top 5 red zone defense/offense. Only given up like 12 points in the second half in 5 games…how do you look at those stats and say CU can't hang with K sate? lol*
According to the talking heads, CU has had issues with running QB's. Sunshine will show more speed than CU has played against so far this season.
1.) CU can more than hang with k-state. Their offense matches up very well against our defense.
2.) CU has only really played one good rushing team (UCF) and they don’t run the same offensive scheme as Kstate. Rubber will meet the road this weekend and something has to give, but KSU is by far the best rushing offense CU will face this year.
@@big12plusbut what’s more dangerous? A running QB or 4 WR1’s on a below average DB group? There’s a lot more nuance obviously. But I can’t wait to see this game!!
Poll numbers early in the season reflect how teams finished the previous season, however they are all different teams. Similar, but different. So things will change as the season progresses, but your early rankings will influence where you finish at the end of the year.
I don't think Stufflebean should be the other starter at DE. Chiddi should be IMO
Didn't a few of Y'all say KSU had extreme advantages over Colorado? Good luck with that. One thing about CU they don't quit playing.GPA has been at all time highs for CU football.Nobody ever in trouble.Oh and i have an extreme CU advantages Travis and Sheduer.
Ya'll don't know Colorado...we don't talk smack outside the lines...we play ball SKO BUFFS! But as a buggs fan, gotta say, you guys have some pretty good takes,...outside of talking about our TRENCHES....ya'll gonna learn!
Yes they can and will.
As it relates to Dylon Edwards, you guys did not do your homework AT ALL! Dylan played with Coach Prime before he ever came to Colorado. Secondly, Coach Prime always says that he doesn't want anything but the best for any player that decides, Colorado isn't a good fit for them. I highly resent your assumption that some how the young men at Colorado are some how incapable of accepting that Dylan doesn't play there anymore. No one is concerned about Dylan leaving. These guys are getting along well and are unbothered by Dylan. When you see how well young people get along you should recant your remarks on your next broadcast. I hate it when nerds are out of touch with different cultures and assume you know how someone feels based on their choice of music, the fact that they wear jewlery, or come from varied backgrounds. We hear the subtle message your're sending and it's not acceptable.
Coach prime also said Dylan left the right way not talking stuff so he has no bad feelings toward Dylan
Coach doesn’t but young people are much more immature than coach is. Not saying they will talk trash to him but it happens all the time.
@@ozarkbagger1380 not sure where this is coming from. Dylan is part of the CU family even in his departure. We the fans enjoyed and enjoy watching him play wherever he is playing. The players will definitely tackle him as an opponent and fans will cheer for him to loose but at the end of the game, win or loose. CU will shake hands and keep moving.
Man some serious Colorado fans have made their way outta the woodwork here!
Butt hurt much about some comments made on your team!?!?
@@colebroughs we just defend lies and propaganda.😎
Kansas State strength on offense is Colorado strength on defense... CU strength on offense is Kansas State weakness on defense. Stevie Wonder can see that much. No yeam jas lined up and ran the ball down CU throats in 5 games, yet, you guys see it happening easily 😂 Kansas State doesn't have a pass rush that can bother Shedeur Sanders and an elite wr group. Bowman for OK State has been throwing ints his entire career at OK State. Shedeur Sanders moght give you one chance at an int. But, then, he is going to kill you.
The same is true for Colorado. K-State's strength is CU's weakness. KSU #2 in Big 12 rushing and #7 nationally. CU ranks #81 in rush defense in efficiency.
Yeah CU's strength on D is NOT rush defense. Hard to score with your offense if you don't have the ball.
@@MT-wo5fs UCF still leads the Big 12 in rushing with 1412 yards vs K. St's 1261.
CU is 80th in rush defense.
@@MT-wo5fs CU had the highest ranked rush defense in the big per pff. Haven’t given up a 100 yard rusher or reciever all season 🤷🏾♂️
Ku gonna ku… they are right where they are supposed to be. 😂😂😂
3 keys
1- Keep Sanders contain and uncomfortable
2- Finish drives w/ 7pts
3- Minimize mistakes, play discipline ball (CU will make mistakes)
I agree
🙂
You guys have a decent show but Cole Carmody is very biased and delusional on his takes concerning Colorados team and especially our defense. But Saturday will give us all some clarity.
I'm telling y'all now Colorado about to dog walk k state all y'all got to do is keep talking
how many points will you give me in a bet with real money?
@@brianbookwalter6810 I’ll give you a straight up bet
@@5pazz Well the other guy said dog walk and I just want to see what kind of score he had in mind? I've seen quite a few 30 to 40 point wins over Kstate. Man, Kstate must not be very good in that case.
@@brianbookwalter6810 those are “prime fans” fam they’re just riding the high.. most don’t know football they just wanna see Prime win lol I ain’t mad.. A realistic score tho.. IF Colorado can contain the run early and make K state play catch up it can get out of hand as the elements, playing at altitude, on the road, late at night, are exactly what they struggled against BYU in, on top of them not having a good pass defense.. I say 35-24 CU but the game will probably be over early in the 3rd quarter
@@5pazz I expect a close one but wouldn't be surprised to see CU get the win. They're on a momentum swing. Confident.
This guy who's name is Cole thinks Kanas state is the best team in the world
No they can’t and won’t 🤷🏾♂️
Mr. Sack Stats attempting to compare sack numbers between CU and KSU 😂😂 CU throws the ball almost 70% of the time and KSU 50%... Don't have to know math to know which quarterback would be sacked the most. It only takes one play to score a td and CU has that guy throwing the ball to a very talented group of wrs...
These guys are not saying anything bad about there team.. Kansas State..... witch has not been playing so good.
Any k state fans wanna bet I’m taking all comers 🤣🤣🤣
