Todd and Richie. You are what arcades and the history of these arcade games are all about. It's people like you that inspire me and why I love your channel and a few others on this topic. I grew up in the arcades as a teenager and one day they all closed and my habit of playing went south. Watching only arcade video's on You Tube is my way of relaxing and having a great time seeing you guy's restoring, playing and teaching others the hobby is a true inspiration keep up the GREAT WORK !!! And i'll keep watching just kidding. :-) My favorite game is Donkey Kong next to Ms Pac Man & Galaga
I think I can speak for Richie too...we love doing this and always have...and its fun to share what we know with others! It seems the collecting end is growing...judging by all the orders we continue to get! Please keep watching our channel...make sure you have subscribed!!
I actually have been a subscriber sorry I didn't mention that. You keep making the video's I will watch all of them. I have so many to choose from you make them all enjoyable and fun. Canada- Canada.. Hey Curt.. All good stuff Todd. A true fan here in DE.
Glad you enjoy our channel! I just wish we had more subscribers!!
I can spread the word on my Facebook page if that's ok Todd.
That would be great, Jim!!
the raw passion that both of you have really comes across in this video.
vibgaming Thanks! Both of us really LOVE games!!
Todd, have you ever thought about writing a book? You've got such an extensive knowledge of different games and wonderful insight into the industry that it really needs to be recorded so it isn't lost. You get to share a lot of it with your videos, but I'm sure there's so much more we never hear about.
Nightenstaff Great idea....I have always warned people I would give them as a present a copy of my memoirs!! Maybe one day!
TNT Amusements Inc I second the motion to write a book! It'd be a great way to further preserve the history.
utubepunk
It may happen one day!
@@tntamusements And here, 7 years later, is a kind reminder to remember writing that book. Before it's too late! 📓📝
another great video have been watching so many of them you have a great love for the industry
Thank you very much...I appreciate it!
Todd at the local amusements (dublin Ireland) the games I remember most because of their sounds where pacland, ghosts n goblins and punch out. They had great sound effects and you could always hear those games in a prity large arcade. But the games I played with everyone my age at the time early 90, s where street fighter 2 and final fight. Your knowledge of the whole industry is amazing 👍
flanneryshaneedward sometimes the sounds you hear bring back so many neat memories!
Ah, loved this video, thanks for making it. So great to hear 2 such knowledgeable and passionate people just chatting away. Lovely arcade Richie has there, buy The King Of Arcades DVD everybody, a fantastic watch.
skyway73 Richie just watched it tonight and called me at home to say how pleased he was with how it turned out!
Sick arcade
Great video!
Hope to visit it someday 🤘
Closed now...he may reopen later in 2018.
Big Big Fan .. Thanks again Boys Tilt it!
:-)
These videos are just great and hearing all the arcade info and history is fab.thanks.
+KEIRAN GARVEY Glad you like our videos...make sure you subscribe!
Whoa Richie Knuckles AND TNT!!!! this is freaking awesome!!
SpaceManMonster We make a great combo!!
Fantastic Arcades classics..
Todd, you're one of my favorite people on UA-cam. I watch your videos every day, I wish I had the technical know-how to do what you and your guys do. I used to watch Richie on his old 'Arcade Culture' web show on justin/twitch and always enjoyed listening to him. I wish there was an arcade near where I live, but there is really nothing around NE Ohio. Oh well, I can admire these machines from afar.
JNugent74 Thanks for the email!! Glad you like the videos...we have fun making them!! We continue to try to add to the big database of game repair...and I know that many folks have been able to fix some of their issues because of our videos!! Youa re not far from the Pinball Expo next weekend in Chicago! You should drive over for fri and saturday next week!
You got to love the sound of a fully working arcade. The sounds of classic games overlapping each other and then every now and again you pick out the sound of the Simpsons or pole position or the music of Donkey Kong. Now when I got to an arcade all I hear is coins dropping from those stupid coin fall machines or fruit machines. 50% of the appeal of an arcade for me is the sound.
enigma776 And of course the people interacting with the games!
Great video, something different and really enjoyed
***** Thank you!!
5:01 that face when you find out your blue isn't working.
Great video. You guys are so likeable. Thanks!
***** Glad you liked the video!
The Battlezone in my opinion was definitely better with the periscope because it made me feel like I was in the game. It's been a long time since I played that one. Good to see it.
sside8 Not many left...so many were junked! :-(
Enjoyed the video, great tour. Thanks for sharing!
+trailervert Thank you!
I really hope Billy shows the world he is still the best with all the controversy and haters lately!
He will do it!
good cover of pac man fever!
Yes...they did a GREAT job with it!
TNT Amusements Inc Funny Video Too! It was only missing one thing! You Todd!
Yes Atari created a custom millitary version of Battlezone called The Bradley Trainer, only 2 where made, The people in the games core developer group did not want to be involved in military rooted development projects,, The gunner yoke was based on the Bradley Fighting Vehicle control and was later re-used in the popular Star Wars series of games (as well as other Atari games using the unique yoke control like Fire Fox)
Yes...I remember reading about that years ago...great trivia...thanks for sharing!
A Pengo that plays the Popcorn Song! Very nice! I've only played a couple of those that had that song.
Eric Miller Yes...a clever idea!
Thank you Todd Tuckey and Richie Knücklez for mentioning my name with a picture Dave Gubernot aka " DJG " a big oyea :)!
Dave Gubernot :-)
Wow i remember seeing those Moppet cabinets in Chuck-E-Cheeses in the early 80s! Forgot all about those..
srarcade I believe there are 7 of them total...I think I have 6 of them.I just cannot remember!
You should write a book about arcades and your story. Things you have came across during the years in this business
rarecoolitems Good idea! One day!!
Man I miss these days so much!!!! I'm located in Parsippany, NJ I would love to just walk around in your setup and remember these great times. How old is Richie? I'm 39 years old. Thanks.
Damon0306 Richie was 10 in 1980...so he must be 44 now...I am over the hill turning 59 in two weeks! Richie would LOVE a visit...his website has the hours, but I believe its the weekend!
SFII in the back-left corner of the space is a good call. Crowds shall gather.
Yep. Got video and all of me doing Pacman fever on the way to the movie premier...good times! Hopefully one of these days I'll make it to the arcade when Richie is actually there!
Benjamin Woodring He is there most weekends Ben!!
Perhaps I should go on a day other than Thursday. :). And good list for your favorite pins! Would love to play that Big Bang Bar...
Great arcade, I saw the king of arcades documentary recently.
Riz2336 Yes it is!
Great video and thank you very much for uploading it :)
Have you ever restored a Midway Boot Hill? as this was one of the first arcade machines I remember playing in my dads workshop when I was very young.
Anto H. We posted a nice Boot Hill video I think 2 years ago...here it is...Bally Midway BOOT HILL Arcade Video Game from 1977 - Vintage and in great shape! TNT Amusements
Thank you Mr Tuckey for the link :)
Groovy game gear has leaf sticks too! And ultimarc has ones that use magnet switches, no clicking!!
Adam Saylor Yes...people appreciate leaf or magnetic switches!
Great video. You talked about power supply and stuff. I have 600w power supply in my computer. How much does these arcades cabinets n pinball want in order to function?
Andreas AndYAce That is more than enough power to keep the board getting nice steady 5 volts!
Gotta love the first gen SF2.
uniroyalbarrie A true classic!
This location reminds me of an arcade place in Downtown San Antonio I used to go to after school. The place was called Skee-Ball in 1982..
SuperKissFan1 WOuld be neat if there were pictures!
Never wear crocks bro.....Other than that ,I love you fellow gamers .........:)
I thought those metal things on top of the Monaco GP were original shipping tie downs. Not sure if that is the right term, but used to strap them down during shipping and not damage the wood. My Pro Monaco GP upright has them on top.
Digital Hero Games, LLC Could be! No one else responded but you! Thanks! They seem to be something that would stay on the game...but cosmetically, they are pretty ugly...right there on the top!!
Saw a Monaco GP sit down at one of the hersheypark arcades
gameboys poop Yes...they are still out there!
Richie holds the world record score for space invaders at 110,510
Todd is so nice he gives me the creeps!lol
Franco Avila I specialize in "CREEPS!!"
Hahaha!
TNT Amusements Inc
Can you please reach out to John's Arcade? His fans and yours are one in the same. You have been requested so many times for him to come check you out that even he has remarked on it. Honestly, for some reason, you two, have such love for these games there's really no other channels out there that come close.
Silly question , In the background I kept hearing what sounded like baby cries coming from a game. Was it the Baby PacMan or the Simpsons? Or was it another game. Thanks! Great Vid btw , as always.
the ''cries'' are from Bart and Lisa's team up move where they yell in The Simpsons. and when the game came out, their yells were a surefire way an arcade had the game.
evilgonzo Yes...its The SImpsons...I think I would gouge my ears out if I had to listen to it all day. If it was my arcade, I would have ALL of the attract sounds off....as when people are there, no attract music is really needed...and when NO ONE is there, when you are fixing games during off times, you can have a little peace and quiet!!
Thanks Guys
Does Richie have a youtube? I've been going to this arcade bar in Orlando and they have a punch-out machine. I can beat Glass Joe right away, Piston Hurricane 50% of the time, and I can't get passed Balled Bull. A tutorial would be awesome!
RanHam335 yes...richie knucklez is his channel!
When Todd's Big Bang Bar finally sells on E-bay what will fill its place?
Marshall Weasel Ahhhhh! Probably Pinbot!
At the 16:25 mark you can see some of my artwork on the wall. Kong Off 3 Allen Staal limited edition poster!
Bill McEvoy Ahhhh!!! Very nice!
Hey Richie I have a monaco Gp sit down I looking for a steering circuit board, One of the chips is bad. I also have a screen problem. The screen works great i have a chip problem where there is one car that is going in a blur up and down the screed but all other cars are racing fine
john roche You need to contact him through his Facebook page. He does not read these comments.
I never really played or went to the arcades any when I was growing up
KingHenryVR4 Now, you need to go out and FIND some of these arcades!
TNT Amusements Inc Yeah I was trying to see if I could get some from my dad's friend to tinker around on from the hoard he had/has in his back rooms :)
LOL, funny he mention people are really passionate about killer instinct. I bought one in 2004. While still in college,
Yes...they still love that game!
Is this place still around?
+TheJpineda1988 He has moved back to his original l;ocation...631 Rt 12...still in Flemington NJ! Look at his FaceBook page!
10:30 - BAGS ..man
As opposed to the 95 cent tour!
You have to be old to get THAT reference,,,)
belfry43 I am pretty old! 59 now!
TNT Amusements Inc
I turn 59 in five months! BTW, I hope eventually you restore a Trail Drive or Roller Coaster!
This location is currently closed. Richie will be opening in a "new" location in February.
RIchie had posted this, "We are currently moving back to our original location at
631 Rt. 12 Flemington New Jersey. We are remodeling
the entire month of January and hope to re-open by
Feb 1st. Open arcade nights will resume then, and we plan
to have a huge "Grand Re-Opening Party".
Please keep checking back and send an email to
richie@richieknucklez.com if you would like an invite to the
grand opening party."
HerrKlugscheisser Wonderful....will make more new notes in the video!
"Oh look, you've got the dick!" - Todd Tuckey 10/2/2014
ChristianHarper :-)
when BagMan dies, he says "aie aie aie" which means "ouch ouch ouch" in French. i dunno why he's supposed to be french, except the fact he does not like to respect the law :)
that because Bagman's creators are from France (Valadon Automaton).
Bagman was made by a French video game company
Bagman also say: "haut hisse, et Hopla"
sadly its closed again, pending relocation I think..10/1/17
+Byudda yea..he plans reopening after the new year in a.new location. Lots pf.fond memories at the old.place!
But Tekken 4 is good game, not classic but good :P
I honestly prefer Tekken 5 since it was the only one in the series whose arcade version had that gimmick that allowed you to used PlayStation controllers. The hilarious thing is that since the controller ports was like any other port, some people have been known for using some odd controllers such as the guitar controllers for Guitar Hero.
figment1988 Yes...its a good game...but not in a true classics arcade like Richie's!!
