    The word for which you are looking, is the 'loophole' in the area of the embrasure - more commonly known as the shooty hole!

    • @TerrainMadeEasy
      @TerrainMadeEasy  4 роки тому

      Loophole sounds funny and embrasure sounds like a made up word! But thank you, as you have now confirmed shooty hole to me in common usage I will keep using this with confidence!

    The second one looks great! One thing I’ve done for rebar is use a thick paper clips that I scratch up and bend with a pair of pliers. Great Work!!!

    • @TerrainMadeEasy
      @TerrainMadeEasy  4 роки тому

      That sounds like it would look great, I try and avoid working with metal, worried about cuts etc. If you want to post on facebook I'd love to see it?

    Side note, I really don't like the third one. I don't think the painting helped but I wanted to release the video so had to stick with it. The idea is sound the execution less so!

      THe long crossbeam should be at a higher angle, as its supposed to dig in when a tank tries to drive over/push it from the front. Other than that, they're not bad.

  • @TheDrewjameson

    Nice work! I think if the "shooty holes" (love it!) had the same angled corners as the barricade, it would look even better!

      It was something I considered but thought it might be a bit too much of a faff for me, I'm not sure I am skilled enough.
      As you can tell I am obviously a milatary expert....
      Thank you :)

    They look good and I think you showed how using simple materials can produce some terrain with things most modelers and terrain makers have on hand. Thanks for sharing this.

      that's my main purpose here. I got a bit frsutrated trying to find terrain ideas but never having any of the stuff people used in videos. Some videos I am sure will get a bit more complex but want most to be very easy to replicate. My pleasure :)

    The barricades look awesome. I really like the second one. I'd look for some Star Wars themed debris to add to it for Star Wars Legion. Perhaps you could use dried twigs mixed with the card pieces and lichen flocking to make a forest/ jungle themed barricade - Endor style?

    • @TerrainMadeEasy
      @TerrainMadeEasy  4 роки тому

      For sure, I went for like a 40k style to go with my building but you could maybe try and make it look like crashed ship parts and set in a jungle as you' say. If you do it, post it in the fb group :)
      Thank you :)

    If you cut up the sprues into smaller bits, they make surprisingly convincing piles of bricks. Those plus some kitty litter plus some of your sand can put some nice texture on the bases of terrain.

    • @TerrainMadeEasy
      @TerrainMadeEasy  4 роки тому

      Nice, I would probably use cut up foam board but that sounds interesting, thanks for sharing :(

    hahaha! The junk wall looked really good but maybe just a little bigger. The bunker would look really good with some barbed wire on the top. Im also not fond of the tank buster terrain but it did come out good but maybe of a table top modern war game.

    • @TerrainMadeEasy
      @TerrainMadeEasy  3 роки тому

      yeah I think in the past I have been too reluctant to add details to try and keep things simple but it does improve stuff adding that kind of stuff :)

  • @xCriticalStrikex

    That second one looks great and could easily diversify a battle ground, might try this myself! The first one looks way too similar to the easily obtainable ones and ones that come for free with legion etc but the tutorial was solid, for someone like me who hasn't really done very much in terrain making its cool to see how simple trash can be made into usable table ready stuff! Agree with you on the last one, cool idea but didn't work well in practice this time :(

    • @TerrainMadeEasy
      @TerrainMadeEasy  4 роки тому +2

      I am revisiting the last one, I will put a little bonus vid out of a better version,
      I know what you mean on the barricade, obviously if you have the legion ones or other ones you wouldn't build these :)
      Thanks for your kind words :)

    I tried the tank trap idea using sprues as well, but instead of sticking the first two parts to a base and then adding the third, i spent maybe an hour total holding the crosses until i could add the third length of sprue, so i had one for each axis from the centre (up/down, backwards/forwards and left/right) granted, they’re fairly ugly in the case of mine, but they stand freely and i can put them just about anywhere when setting up terrain to form chokepoints and infantry only zones that balance out larger games with really varied armies! (Also I’m building an Army of Imperial Guard, so it makes some sense for them to have tank traps of some kind!)

    • @TerrainMadeEasy
      @TerrainMadeEasy  4 роки тому +1

      Just to say I did an update to this video in which I do them again but better, can't quite remember how I did it only the simple change for me was to have 3 pices the same length and that really sorted it for me. They are good to do and cheap for sure!

    I think your "Inspired by Aegis" barricade is better than the GW one - the GW one has sticky-out bits at the front which would made horrendous shot-trap in real life!

    • @longhunter5935
      @longhunter5935 4 роки тому

      Look on UA-cam for “how to make model Barbed wire” by jerseydevil1976. There are a couple others out there too. Some promoting making a jig to build it. It’s not necessary unless you need meters of it.
