This makes about the 4th or 5th one that I’ve watched. There’re being 10 in all that means that if I’ve watched 5 of them so, I’m half way through. That means that I only have 5 more to watch and I hate that.

Yes...They dressed like that, the caps were similar and the uniforms identical. I will say they would not get away with the hair and makeup back then. Anyway better than current nurses in pink teddy bear scrubs.

Remember - the story STARTED in 1932 when he first had his accident, so the uniforms would have had longer skirts and "close fitted" caps (like Barbara Stanwyck in 'Night Nurse', or Glenda Farrell in 'Mary Stevens, MD).. The uniforms as shown in the movie were straight from 1943.

Very good movie...thanks for posting! Beneath the more overt storyline runs a still-contemporary issue: is a criminal born or made? The doctor had been a criminal in his previous life, but after amnesia & therapy & a new start allowed him to begin again, he not only becomes a doctor but works to help others in less fortunate positions. Interesting theme, and the film seems to confirm the view that a person isn’t necessarily born bad, that we have within ourselves the capacity to be either good or bad, that what we become depends on both our society & our own determination.

Right around minute 16, Baxter says to Collins, "Maybe you're too old to find it," meaning Baxter's identity, "but I'll find it," as if he's younger than Collins. In fact, Collins was nine months younger than Baxter. They both look every bit of their 54-year-old age in this movie, too. Funny line.

What an amazing Doctor! @ 10:15 of the movie the "patient" complains he is not feeling well. The good Doctor suggests a cigarette.

Wow - The actor John Litel could pass for Ed Asner’s brother. In some scenes the similarity is striking.

I thought he resembled more like George Brent. In fact I was expecting to see George Brents' name when I saw his picture.

Thank you for an inspiring vintage film. We need to seriously work at rehabilitation. The US has more people in prison than all other nations and counting.

Wierd but good film to watch. Smart doc. Killed two birds with one plan. In wanting to find out who he was before his accident he he met up with a gang of criminals responsible for his accident, managed to get the answer out of them, and used it to turn them in.
That was clean slick plot writing.

A lot lot better than most of the current era movies, No profanity, vulgarity or obscenity, no cocaine sniffing, no Computer generated imagery (CGI) no stupid loud music, no modern gadgets. who says such things are necessary to make a good film. I thoroughly enjoyed it. At the same time i feel sad while watching these old movies because all these people are long gone to the next world. These films also compel me to think about my own grandfather grandmother and their father mother which i have never seen but i think in 1943 my grandfather would be 12 year old approx. Life is strange. After 100 years people will probably think in a same way about us.

Very entertaining, despite the _numerous_ plot holes and the old "young" Phil we meet before the 10 year gap. Still, with younger male stars off fighting WW2, a few older actors got a look in. Margaret Lindsay was gorgeous, I must say.
