I think Unbound is a great first game back for Criterion. Well done on feedback from them and I can appreciate the art style and them really trying something new wanting to make a statement for their first NFS back. Although the game is still rough around the edges and missing some stuff like cops online etc, its really impressive to me what Criterion managed to do in such a short amount of time, they didnt even have 2 years to work on this and they managed to make this. And the graphics imo are incredible! Garage view when customizing your car here feels a bit boring tbh, can't really see reflections either and I think its sad we can only see 1 car in the garage when in the start we see up to 6+ cars parked in there. Im currently 10+ hours deep into this game already given I currently have a lot of time on my hands. So far im giving this game a 7.5/10, maybe an 8/10. But I still have 2 qualifiers left and the grand so I still don't know the full story so my "review" isn't final in any way

the addition of old nfs music in the background in the garage would be so cool to see, and probably not too difficult to implement (aside from licencing the soundtracks) so if they could do it, I think it would add a nice bit of nostalgia for us, long time NFS fans (especially with Ekstrak - Belt blasting in the background)
Game is broke for me I purchased parts for this car and they disappeared now all my parts have the tire icon and when I click on any of them the game instantly crashes with an error message.
I have watched a few videos of unbound..... is there really no showroom / showcase letting us enjoy our cars in cinematic style or anything like that? Sometimes you just want to sit there and watch a nice presentation of your built... but it seems like none of that is in unbound... i dont know what it is but ea has the talent to always make 2 steps back when they make 1 step forward. No replay mode, no showroom, nothing... in therms of presentation this game is a desaster. For whatever reason it has mobile game character ... this is not what i expect from a tripple A game. Somehow i already regret pre-ordering this. Crowned and IvyPennant are legends making these car pxrn style videos using nfs and other driving games.. ea should have learned from this and bring such cinematic experiences into the game so anyone can enjoy his car in crowned style... so sad. Such videos are part of the culture...
they weren't going for cinematic experience this time, they did that with the last few games, they're trying something unique. Cel chaded characters immediately don't make it mobile.

Understeer-fest all the way from NFS 2015, and yet every next game they make they promise all new revised handling and shit, lmfao it's all just copy paste, same with cars to buy, they just copy paste them, add like 2 actually new cars, remove roof from 3 pasted ones and call it a brand new again. That being said I love that you are back man, always appreciate a vid from you and can't wait for more cinematic content!
@@hawken796 they all have some minor changes, but the "base" is the same, it's like they just change couple parameters and call it a day. I played 2015, Payback and Heat and that's my opinion. Same game engine after all, every jump looks the same, rev limiter cuts sound the same, same burnouts etc
@@SVTVeniK Yeah it's the same base, like how Hot pursuit was the base for the next 8 games in the ps2 era. But the handling is much deeper and grip is finally viable
