OK Thanks for the reverse thread tip on the idle circuit. The tank leaks which is solvable ---- you rock. Thanks again. Please reply. Ken from Ken small engines sent me. I put a snowblower rope pull handle on the rope. HARD PULL I am 65 years old LOL

HL 222 carb extra large adjustable air tube is called the accelerator pump and actuated when running the throttle and aids with the low side throttle pick up on for some of these big homelites 1050, 2000 i believe some of these used this as well but not sure of dates they were used on these.

I have been using OEM vacuum controllers hose from under the dash of cars at pick&pull. I was amazed how many things like one way check valves, Very high quality hose used under the dash and has never been effected by petroleum or severe heat like most of the stuff that's under the hood. And way cheaper than buying it at any parts stores! All a guy needs is an hour or two and a little ambition 😊

My xl 1020 auto has that air idle system, but it doesn't have the nipple on the cylinder where you need to connect the tube. like @whistlindixiesmallengine said: better plug that off and install a standard idle screw.

Probably the strangest way to set up a carburettor. Wondering can it be bypassed for simplicity's sake. Ive a 1020 that im rebuilding. Thing needs crank seals but just down the line im concerned about this extra place for a leak to occur

I wish there was some where to buy that idle air hose

That would get plugged off and get an idle speed screw

Why is there two fuel hoses on this carb (the black and tygone)? Is it for the fuel heating system for cold weather?
